What does money actually mean? Presently, there is an economy with over $3.5Bn in it. Average holdings for each person are around $5.5M. Does this give a true reflection? Many of those on the streets today are offspring of former mob bosses, some of whom amassed tens of millions before dying. This wealth was ploughed into the marketplace and then surreptitiously left for the sons and daughters of the prominenti to find and spend. But how much use is it? Those adept at playing the market place often make many millions. But they do so at the expense of engaging with the more traditional ways of earning money in this thing... A marketplace speculator will follow the sound of the war drums, not to take part, but to use this information to generate more wealth for himself. So, essentially, does this make him part of a family? Or is he merely using a family as protection whilst he buys and sells? Of course, his marketplace profits are not bound by tribute. If they were, the upper echelons of this thing would be obscenely rich. Is there a speculator class within this thing of ours? And what, if anything, should be done if such a class exists? |

Rudy steps up and looks at Mulholland. If you ask me how much use money is at all, I don't think anyone would have to explain you that it's pivotal. Surely, those playing with money on the marketplace during wars often take risks, and often are rewarded for it. Mind you, they will lose the inheritance for their children when they happen to catch a bullet. Rudy smiles as he steps back. |

Baby Beel looks Mulholland and nods his head.
"Bow (That's an interesting idea. Related to money, there's an idea I especially. I have not heard all ideas, mind you, but I especially like the family jobs. Earners would have had more impact if it became a thing.)"
"Chika (As for the speculator class, I would be against it. Such a class will give more power to the tycoons of the foreign currency. They already have so much influence in this thing of ours. Recently, a tycoon put up a hit list on Amos and SpikeS, and they soon died afterwards. Miss Niki had a hit list put on her head, and the whole of Las Vegas was wiped. A speculator class will tilt the balance too much for the foreign-currency-rich.)"
"Bow (As for where the 3.5 billion came from? That actually came from the GodFather. Some people sold their foreign currency in the marketplace, and he bought them up, to put some money into this thing of ours. One to three weeks ago, we were only at 1 billion.)"
"Wow (I have mixed feeling for these tycoons. They single-handedly sustain this thing of ours, but they also have so much power. Ideally, we wouldn't want foreign currency to have so much influence. Realistically, we need their foreign currency, and giving them a bit of power is their reward.)"
"Gitchee (In the end, I can accept the status quo. Foreign currency reduces my time in this things of ours, and gives me more time for my other family and my legit jobs. I can also enjoy my time on the streets and chat with you, instead of going around from district to district and selling drugs.)" |
