Levey had made sure to don a new suit, a navy one, which he pressed himself all morning long as he stared at the flyer pinned to the wall. His apartment wasn't much still, he had just moved to Chicago after all, Dean had gone down and he had been allowed to learn to ply his trade under that man's tutelage. Today though, Levey was going to step out into the sun for himself. That's the point of America right? Land of opportunity, where the self-made can be given a chance to thrive if they just reach for it? He nodded, and with that in mind stepped up to the podium.

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen, fellows of this thing of ours, associates, long-time comrades and even a good morning to enemies that I do not yet know I have. I have here in my hand a flyer which portends a great upheaval in Chicago. Two, to possibly even four families to be set up in Chicago in the wake of the tragic downfall of the city. I do not step up here in coincidence. I know that many, if not all, of you do not know me. I know that a man such as myself, would never occasion to rise to meet a challenge like this, this is not the normal way of things. And yet? I look to the west, to Los Angeles, a now thriving city which has outlasted both of the prestigious men who had set that up to be much the same. I look around the world and I see countless strong leaders with the ability to make something for themselves because they were afforded opportunity. That's what I am here for, that's what I fight for, and what I ask for in return. Opportunity.

Today I announce my consideration for one of these fabled new families. I come to you with the permission of my own Don to set forth into a new venture. I come to you with the experience of elders who came before me. I come to you all with a hope for a future that is bright, and a torch in my hand for the little guy. So much so that I vow to you all right here and now that, should you, yes you who hear me, or who read a transcript of this later, you who feel as if you have nowhere to go, no home to find, no people who will care for you. I tell you now, that so long as I am around you do.

I want this. I want to help to rebuild Chicago to a former glory with the help of the poor, the downtrodden, the tempest tossed. New York has a great lady standing in her harbor holding that torch. Let your huddled masses breathe free with me in Chicago. I stand before you all with that promise. You will always have a home.

As for my own personal qualifications, they are little and less. Ancestors of mine have had better qualifications by far, but I look to Philadelphia, to our great Godfather Chairman Patangeli there and I remember through the stories of those who came before me, not all men who step to the podium have a lineage before they become a great ruler. I do not compare myself to the incomparable lightly. In fact, I know I will never be as great a man or woman as those who are leading cities and districts now, but I do not aim to be a 'great man' like they. I aim only to be the best man that I can be myself.

In that aim I would like to outline promises, just a few. The first of which, if chosen I will take on this endeavor and ask nothing of anyone to take on the hardship with me. Every one of you in power now should have no fear of losing a qualified and hard working member to a so-called promotion into my crew. In short, I will take no hands with me, but rather let them grow organically.

Secondly, my crew, as had been traditional for my ancestors in the past, will be based around telling stories and role-playing such as it is. I am not myself well-versed in the art of politics, nor in the much less subtle art of war. I am a soldier, a writer, and a joy-bringer. I plan on continuing to be those things should I be chosen. So if you are a writer, this promise if for you, you will, without a doubt, always have someone to write with. No matter what station I might aspire to, or hopefully obtain in the future. If you should ever find yourself looking to write with someone, all you will ever have to do is knock on my door and I am yours.

These may be two promises that are of little meaning or consequence to those around these shores currently, but they mean something to me, and if we are being honest, there are only two reasons to start a crew of your own, one is to do it for yourself, the other is to do it to protect your people. I'm being very clear from the beginning, I'm doing this for me, since I'm not taking any people with me. And what is it that I want to do? Provide a home for those who need one, a fun place to be for those who want one, and a place to tell stories for those of us who come to these shores to do just that.

I hope I have not bored you, but the good news for you is that I am finished. I hope that the powers that be can take all of this to heart. I hope that you all remember that no matter what, I'm just one step away. Come knock on my door, I am an open book, a friend, a shop owner, a writer, and everything in between. I am, for you, what you need me to be.

With that Levey steps down, leaving the flyer sitting on the podium with a single line scrawled on it...

The Posner Investment Trust (The PIT)

Wayne smiled as he listened to Levey_Posner speak his case for leadership in Chicago.

"Mister Posner, although there has been no response to your speech of yet, just know that the council has heard it and is impressed with what you have said and offered. Judging by your budging wallet of tips, there are plenty of others who agree with me, even if they have not come out and said it themselves.

It is a shame that you are the only entrant so far, as I have nothing to compare your words to. But I must say, well said, sir."

Passing through, Garou decided to stop for a moment whilst he grabbed a coffee and handed over a small tip to the stand worker with a smile.

I must say, I was fortunate enough to share a conversation with Levey shortly after this discussion took place. There are many things which were said here in front of everyone that I admire. Some seek to ask for opportunity and then when it's presented to them, they shy away from the challenge.

For Mr Posner here, not only was he extremely honest and transparent about his vision, but he was also confident enough to step forward with the willingness to do it alone. I respect his words/drive and look forward to seeing what the future holds for him.

Taking a sip of his coffee, he nodded respectfully before turning around to continue with his day.

I might be biased because of how you helped me out on my first day in this life but I do think it was a real fine speech Mr. Posner, one worthy of a leader here on these shores.  Best wishes to you on this noble endeavor!

Luis steps forward to listen to the first contestant of the SoapBox city speak.. he nods and grins as he listens to the man, taking drags off his cigarette and golf clapping when the man stopped and paused. When the speech was finally over, he stepped forward and addressed the man, and the rest of the crowd forming..

"A wonderful speech you have given us here today, Mr. Posner. I look forward to what you may bring to the table in this life of ours going forward, and you seem like a worthy candidate. My hat is off to you for coming out here and putting yourself forward as you did.."

The Godfather tipped his hat to the man in respect before making his way back into the shadows, the crowd took note of the respects shown by a man such as Luis and began clapping for Mr. Posner who still remained standing on stage, basking in the cheers and claps presented to him..

LillisMolly stood in the back nd have listen to all that Levey_Posner who really had a great speech and were absolutely a good person to handle this situation in Chicago and must be getting this opportunity, he had long expierence with him and knows hes gonna do a perfect job if getting it.

"Very good speech my dear friend, this is really a great opportunity you really deserve"

He slowly moves away after shaking his hand and he went on to other things that now needed his attention, he was very glad when walking down the street.

Jimmy stood in the back listening to Levey speak. He smiled as the words resonated with the crowd. One thing for certain Levey knew how to captivate a crowd. Levey was articulate and honest in his demeanor. 

Jimmy waited till Levey was done before walking up and shaking his hand. 

Great job Levey  I look forward to hearing the results. If chosen Chicago will be lucky to have you.

Jimmy smiles as he heads off to continue family business.

After other folks had a moment to step up and say their piece in the wake of his comments, Levey stood back up to the podium once more. Having been selected himself to help the city recover from tragedy.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I feel it's very important to say one last thing. I know that many of you have come to see me, to get to know me after this speech, to wish me the best of luck, but I need to publicly thank you. Whether you reached out in private, or here in the public eye. Whether you left me a couple of bucks in my hat, or you are shouting from the rooftops my praises, few though they may be, I need to thank you.

More importantly, I want to remind you that I am only one man, and I am not an important one at that. Nor, to be very frank, do I think I ever will be. I hope that this speech more than anything else capitalizes on the idea that anyone, no matter who, can make a name for themselves. Anyone can put their name forward. Anyone can be shown dignity, respect, and support. I'm nobody, all I did was take up a few minutes of your time to say my piece. Sometimes, I truly believe that's all it takes. And in Chicago, that is all you will need. Come to us, say your piece, earn your own respect.

In the wake of this, I would like to extend my congratulations to those who have come forth to join me in this quest to rebuild Chicago. It will not be an easy task. Everyone selected will have to work very closely together if it is to be accomplished with any modicum of decency. Whether or not I am here, whether or not I survive, know that I am with you. I am with every effort you put forth. You and I are comrades in arms, in ideals, in spirit, and in passion. Be not afraid of the coming days, for dark though they may be, and full of trials, we shall all be forged on the other side through struggle, into greatness.

Good luck to all, no matter who stands together, know that I am with you, and together we set forth to do great things."
