People also might be more prone to talk about your paper if: a. You made an actually GOOD newspaper. and b. You had it come out more often than Babe Ruth says "No thanks, that's enough beer for me." But then what am I talking about, if you lower your standards enough, pretty soon people will applaud you just for spelling your name right. |

Sure, I get what you're saying, but if you're relying on the help of the community to FINALLY produce a quality product, then remind us again why you are needed? |

We've tried that time and time again with contests. Last issue a guy won a million, but even then not many people submited anything. I don't know if any of you were here but before I left for a while I had at least 5 good articles. Does anyone remember that or was it just a dream? |

I want to boil this down as much as possible. If *you* can't do your job without whining for people to help you... Why the fuck should *you* have your job? It's *your* responsibility to put out the newspaper. If *you* can't put out a product that people should be proud of, *You* should be fired. |

| ask anyone how has wrote for the paper recently? Someone go find striphe and ask how much I paid him for obits. the 100k is only a minimum meaning thats what you will get for anything submitted I pay extra for articles I really like. =) | |

| Again, enough of the complaining/bashing. Why not give helpful opinions? This is not directed to anyone in particular, so don't get all offensive. I think what this thread has done, is make us at the Tribune think. And encourage us to work harder, and put out what you all want to see. I only speak for myself, but I will make it a point to provide more quality and quantity in future issues. Yes, the paper seems to have issues in the past, so its time to fix it. | |

| And I think what Riley said was misunderstood. We pay well for all quality articles. There is no favoritism, nor should there be. There are some articles that are much better than others, and yes, they will get paid more. When something is submitted that needs a lot of editing, or almost completely rewritten, then they will not get paid as much. And yes, we do get a lot of shite articles. | |

If you're actually going to make a decent product, then I think I speak for everyone when I say take as much time as you need to get it done *right*. But if you're going to throw out sloppily put together, heavily biased, EXTREMELY content lacking tripe like you just put out and call it a "newspaper" then why the fuck do we have to wait? Why don't you have another 9 issues out since you put that steaming pile of shit out this morning? So take your pick man. Good but taking time, or complete shit that comes out twice a day. You don't get to take months to make a shitty ass new edition and expect everyone to be all "Zomg! New paper! WE LOVE YOU RILEYFREEMAN! *insert blow job noises here*" |

Ah but wouldn't it be nice to just hug and hold hands? Hmm, not quite my idea of fun. I may seem rather sweet, but its because I prefer not to give in to temptation and argue. If you all want me to be a ruthless bitch, I can definitely do that. And I am taking in all this, good or bad, and making a point to do something about it. And I much prefer not to be grouped in with the "old staff". I cannot help what was done with the paper in the past, only try to make it better for the future. And as far as putting out a shit paper so soon, instead of waiting? Its because people have been bitching about it not being out. We wanted to wait a few days, and make it better, but apparently we couldn't do that. I would agree though, that its better to have a kick ass paper once a week, then a bunch of random nonsense every few days. |
