Forza is for gearheads which Im guessing your not, and its pure greatness. Buy what you want I could care less just throwing in my 2cents. As I stated if you can afford the console you can afford to pay to play online. Another plus for xbox is it gets DLC earlier instead of having to wait.

I like the N64. It has the best games ever on it. Nod nod.

Before we get into a fanboy war, I'll just point out a few things from a black and white point of view.


Double-layer Blu-ray capacity = 50 GB
Double-layer DVD capicty = ~8.7 GB


Playstation 3 HDD = Common SATA drive
Xbox 360 HDD = Proprietary drive



While I'm trying to avoid bashing the Xbox 360, the fact that you have to buy the more expensive versions of the console to get what's already built into/comes with the Playstation 3 (WiFi, wireless controllers, bluetooth) levels the cost to around the same cost, if not more.

The Playstation 3 was designed to be a media center with a focus on games. The 360 was designed to be a game console, with the thought of a media center tacked on after the fact.

While I've enjoyed both system's exclusive titles, I forsee I'll be using my Playstation more over the next few years. In the end, the Playstation has much, much more room to expand on.

Oh, nice. A car whose maker filed for bankruptcy and borrowed billions from the United States government to dig themselves out of the enormous hole they dug themselves in. :P

So, getting DLC a few weeks earlier is worth paying $50? That's pretty much the only extra thing you're getting. Not to mention, to hook an Xbox up to wifi, you need a special attachment. Then, you need another special attachment to keep the Xbox 360 from overheating if you're gaming too hard. Not to mention the possibiliy of RRoD. (Red Ring of Death) Then, using the blue ray capabilities of the PS3, games are able to be 20 gigs larger in size than the games of the Xbox 360. Another less notable reason as to why the PS3 is better, have you ever turned your Xbox 360 on, popped a game in and just listened to it? It's loud as shit. How can you concentrate on anything with the loud buzzing it's making. You don't get that with the PS3.

I'm sorry Microsoft fanboys. The Xbox 360 loses this battle.

They resolved the Red Ring of Death, as horrible as that was.

Alas, let us not forget Sony pulling Linux support from the console or that ridiculous incident with the leap year bug.

What's wrong with Linux support? O.o This server runs on Linux. Hell, there's linux in many things.

And, I hadn't realized they resolved the red ring of death issue?

Erm, before a certain update you could install Linux on your Playstation. Then it was disabled, and now Sony is having their collective asses sued mostly in Europe for false advertisement now that the feature is disabled. (They were getting tax breaks because it was being advertised as a computer, or something of the like.)


Also, yes, the red ring issue is resolved. It has been for a while now. If it wasn't, Microsoft would be hemorrhaging customers faster than it took for "Gigli" to tank at the box office.

I have the Xbox 360 slim which is silent...with built in wifi although I prefer to use ethernet. PS3's have the yellow light of death so dont get me started on that, my friend fixes consoles and he gets quite a few PS3s. And the "intercooler" to keep the xbox from overheating...never had to use it. Peoples xbox's overheat due to dust, carpet, dirt clogging everything up and it cant breathe. All it takes a some simple soldering and 10 minutes of your time and its fixed, for both consoles.

Ah. I see. Technically, couldn't you simply flash your PS3 and not connect to the internet so that it wouldn't update, then install Linux anyway? <.<

Then you wouldn't be able to play the newest games. ;)

I've never even heard of the Yellow light of death until you mentioned it, so it can't be near as big a problem as the Red Ring of Death was for many Xbox 360 users.

PS3 > Xbox. Period.

Yellow light of death? Are you serious? I sent back two 360s in a year. I use my PS3 way more than I play my Xbox. Aside from Halo, theres no reason to own a 360

As a fellow PS3 owner, I have experienced the 'Yellow Light" fiasco. I actually went through this problem playing Dead Space 2. But then I figured out that I was playing the game for a long time during a snow storm lol. But I would believe that Xbox prides itself in its hardware, as it has in the past and still does, but you still continously hear about the Red Ring of Death. I strongly believe that if it wasn't for that major malfunction, Xbox would have had much more players.

As someone mentioned earlier, having to actually PAY each month to play online is ridiculous.

1) I paid for the nextgen console

2) I pay for internet

3) I pay $60 for a game

Why should I have to pay monthly to play it online? It's crazy

I pay for monthy online so that I can compete against people who actually can play. I've played COD on my friends PS3 and I swear its like a chimp with down syndrome broke out of the animal clinic and somehow got ahold of a PS3 controller. There is absolutley no comparing the online community on the 360 to the one on the PS3, in that aspect the PS3 has no chance of winning.

And some of us with PS3 consoles would agree with you Rover. But my question is: looking at the PS3 and Xbox seperately...what would you rather have? What intrigues you about your choice?

Because 360 players pay a monthly fee means they are better gamers? I pick up a 360 remote and own the kids that have a 360

Okay I'm a ps3 man. However I'm going to be blunt and honest. The Ps3 is a far better machine but the online play even though its free is horrible. Try to play just about any game other than whats on the tip of everyones tounge and you'll be stuck reloading the lounge I swear it's like 5 guys online lol. Also Games as a whole just dont have much to them so it hurts both systems.

Meaning it's not a question of which is the better system (PS3) it's who has them best online experience. And Xbox has that! Also wtf PS why cant i ply music during my game, whats a racing game without your own personal BGM. I have an idea for PS if you want attention score a deal with pple and allow itunes to be accessed on the PS3 then allow people to play thier own freaking music.
