| CL dies, RHM gets crew | Started by: Len on Oct 13, '19 14:14 |

I think a major flaw in this game is that when a CL dies, the crew ends. In the Mob, the RHM got the crew if the boss died. This would allow some fun stuff, like a RHM rebelling and killing his CL to become CL, like someone killing the Godfather to get the rank. |

We can make it so that when a CL dies, the crew is up for grabs by any crew member and have a voting system by it so that the other crew members can choose whether or not they wish to keep the self-appointed leader or not; vote for someone else. Like the following options: [ ] Vote to have current leader stepdown from position. [ ] Vote to have Player X, Player Y, Player Z claim current leader's position; X % voted to have Player X nominated for Crew Leader X % voted to have Player Y nominated for Crew Leader X % voted to have Player Z nominated for Crew Leader Y % voted to have CURRENT PLAYER remain as Crew Leader Z % decided to keep their vote as undetermined Z % didn't have a chance to vote/didn't vote [ ] Accept current leader as CL. [ ] Not sure, withhold vote. Last % for those who weren't on or chose to omit the election. |

Unless someone has 60 units and 120 days under their belt they are ineligible to become a Godfather. In order to become a Godfather, a CL must challenge the current Godfather (in a RP format - not an actual Godfather.) You can't kill a CL and become one. I only agree with during a war or the event a CL steps down the RH should become CL. |

*During war RH should become CL only ONCE. I would be against a scenario where CL dies, RH becomes, new CL dies and his RH becomes leader. |

Kinda made it like this & not with what was stated in the first post, because say the Crew Leader was with his associate(s) & say RHM was away doing business in another city, irl (in real life), the irl mob boss/associate (of the other crew) could be like this: "As personal relations between me & your former boss escalated, I had no other choice than to kill him/her for what he/she had done. I left you alive to take care of your father's/mother's family business. Nothing personal kid." -OR- from associate: "The boss sends his regards to your former leader. He left you in charge, if you got the balls/vagina to take over." Just something I came up with. (Note I am a new player & may not be aware of how things work/operate here) |

And/Or the voting could be done by upper structure say Made Man+ or something. (Once again at the time of this post I don't really know how RHM & the other positions work or mean, as I haven't gotten to that yet, but I decided to share my input as to what kinda happens to groups/guilds in other games. - I said kinda because I put parts of what different games do & combined them to be unique for this game, so sorry if it may make little to no sense. |

In the rl mob, the RHM/UB gets the crew when the CL dies. That's all we need, we don;t need a voting system. |

Another issue is the RH not being 11 days old. Again, ineligible to take over ... more problems with this -1 now I'm not a fan of voting either. -1 on that too |

The age thing would be quite simple to account for Jordan, if the RHM doesn't have the age or units to step up as MM and take over, then the crew simple ceases to be as it always has. I wouldn't be up for the vote either, after all this is the Mafia, not a democracy. |

In my opinion it should be coded that if a CL dies, the system should first look if there is a RHM or LHM. If there is a RHM then he will be come the CL. If there isnt then the system will make the LHM the CL. If both for what ever reason are not avaible then it will look if the person with the highest units or rank is elliagble for CL. If this is again not the case then the crew should disband, in my opinion this should work fine. It would also make it more realistic. |

+1 Because this is how the mafia operates. I read this much of the discussion in IRC on this topic. [16:34] (@IzzyCreamcheese) theres a few pros/cons for this First and foremost, there are no cons. Blood in blood out. More importantly, it is exclusively a "inner" family issue. Period! As far as dynasty families, they existed, and live on. Same old same old. |

I back this and for whatever reason the RH cannot take the family (ie. Not Made or old enough) then the family falls to the LH. If they also can’t take it then the family disbands: |

Well if the case in which the rhm takes over and there are crew members who do not back this surely there could be a period of time arranged to find another home (assuming you are below the rank of made) all above mades have took an oath to stick by the whole crew (hands included) so would surely stay? |

When the CL is alive but offline, the user (traditionally) has to follow orders from the RH. How does this differ when the CL has been killed? The user is still able to leave the family (as they always can). Only concern I have is that the user's Loyalty should be set to "Undecided" if the RH takes over. I think it makes sense to retain the functionality of a crew (auth, promotions, member tracking) even if the CL dies. Even if the crew/district/city chooses a different person to inherit the crew, they can still build an HQ and move the members over with greater organization and safety. And I think that's more in the members' interests than the concern over them being "held hostage." |

Squishy, what's the difference between this and a CL getting GF and setting up his RHM as a container or sub crew and transferring his extra crew members to that new crew? They are now stuck in a crew that they didn't agree to be in, usually with no way out but to suicide. I have been in that very same situation dozens of times over the last umpteen years. |

The RH should resume the family affairs if the CL is taken down. The RH should be made before resuming the position. Save the la la on their lineage...That point is mute. Here is where the real problem lies: The same old lineage dating back as far as 2002 thru 2012. They are at fault for any and all negative effects. Ask Cassi. |
