My friends, these Streets have been transformed into the birthplace of the Competitive Writing Community.  Many of you have asked many questions about the contests, so I have created a potted history of them.  Enjoy:

Competition 1: $40 million prize, won by Destro for quite possibly the best story the I have ever read in his entire life. There were half a dozen entries. There was some controversy over an un-publicised extension to the ultimate winner, but most people are over this now and accept that it was necessary for Destro to enter. 

Competition 2: $28 million Prize, won by tiggy, my friend and current CL.  tiggy winning this conest was considered a win for Detroit, and for tiggy's many friends and admirers!  By now people were constantly excited about the contests.  It was alleged that I paid someone, named Scooter, to enter the contest on my behalf.  Sadly, Scooter was shot dead before any conclusive evidence was offered for his wild accusations. 

Competition 3: $10 million prize This was a different contest; the writer had to tell a story of someone who betrays Omerta. Won by my'friend 'tiggy' again for something almost as well written as Destro's winning piece. There were more baseless accusations of duplicity and underhandedness, last minute judges and time extensions. Net result, the haters lost, and the contests continued.  The Competitive Writing Community stood together against the naysayers.

Competition 4: $18 million prize, won by no one because of a bad outbreak of OCCitis that saw the whole thing swept onto another street. People were rightly upset. Judges were compensated, a hasty winner was awarded $150k, sadly, legal disputes were brought and everyone thought I was being unfairly maligned.

Competition 5: $20 million prize, won by 3 people who won $10 million each, with a runner's up prize for someone whose name I forget. 4 entrants, 4 prizes...Everyone was happy!  Something of a high point in the Competitive Writing Community's history.

Competition 6: $14 million prize, won by BelleCorisca. Now her post was certainly original, but this contest was not without controversy, and I believe led to around four fatalities.  A sad day for the Competitive Writing community. 

Ad Hoc competition: $1 million to anyone who entered!  This was to honour the Competitive Writing Community martyr, Destro.  His name with livith on forever.
