"Return to the Paper Game" BudKnight Takes to the Streets
It has been quite a long time since my bloodline has ventured into the newspaper business. The purpose of this paper will be to inform, entertain, and give some people something different besides just the usual stories we hear out on the streets most days. At the beginning of this paper it will be just little 'ol me writing this paper in its entirety. I'll touch upon it a few times throughout the paper, but hopefully in time there may be others to assist me in this venture. The purpose of that would not only be to reduce the amount of work for myself. It will hopefully bring some variety to the paper and allow different views or ideas to be shared. Now, just because I make this request will not mean that anyone will be able to join in. Now the requirements to work on the paper will not be "do you agree with all my ideas or opinions", but there will be some sort of application or interview process. Enough of that though, let's keep going with this long introduction to "The Dilly Philly Gazette". I cannot promise excellence or something that everyone will enjoy. Hell I can't promise anyone will enjoy it and if you don't....well suck it up buttercup. This is America and I can produce whatever newspaper I'd like to. Feel free to create your own paper if you are so inclined. Others already exist on these streets. Obviously if there were ever repercussions due to what I wrote, then that's what life is. Freedom and consequences. There will not be a strict time table for each issue of the gazette, although the hopes would be to have a weekly or bi-weekly issue. There will always be things they may come into play when it comes to the release of the paper whether that be interview timing conflicts, business in the old country, breaking news which requires a new piece to be added, or just time needed to make sure each issue is something worth printing. "Expansion!" Cities Grow and the Godfather Council Adds Members
Following a recent conflict involving every city within organized crime, there were multiple gaps in leadership that needed to be filled in order to keep things running smoothly from coast to coast. Plans were quickly crafted in order to fill the cities of Seattle and Las Vegas along with a few districts throughout the seven cities where organized crime congregates in large numbers. As we will discuss later in this issue, there were also gaps left in the Godfather Council. After what seemed to be quick, but effective discussions by Don Javier, Don Hulk_Smash, and Don Pollo we had news brought to us on the future of organized crime in a strong speech by Don Javier of Philadelphia. You can see a transcript of the speech here. The city of Las Vegas was going to be placed in the hands of Consigliere Lust and Consigliere Koyuki. Both leaders who came from New York under Hulk_Smash with Lust specifically being a former member and hand to the big green guy himself. These two were quick to get their operations across the nation to the City of Sin. From journals my ancestors wrote in I can see that these two have had quite the lineage of leadership so the city seems to be in good hands. The duo was also quick to get another crew set up in The Strip to assist in getting those casinos into tip top shape. The person chosen to lead this venture is known to go by the name Homelander and his operation has been called 'Vought'. There are rumors that this man's strength rivals even that of the green guy from New York, but that is all speculation as there has been no direct head to head to measure this. I'd have to at the moment put my money on the green guy till I hear more. The Rainy City was the other main focus of this announcement as plans were put in place to help the city get back on its feet quickly. At the head of this operation is Don West and the organization known as Tranquility. West was set up to help replace Don Drake and house some of the homeless mobsters. Again, the journals make references of such an organization existing in years past that was quite successful which gives hope to the City of Seattle. The other person announced to be taking their business to Seattle was Boss EvilClown at the helm of the United Nations crew. A storied organization that was previously headed by Consigliere TurboCharged and now it finds itself on the Waterfront in Seattle. These two organizations by themselves gave most hope that Seattle was now in good hands and would be rebuilding quickly. Although there was still the matter of Ballard district and that was solved with the auth of Capo Cogburn. Although a small operation at the moment still it appears to be in good hands with Cogburn and her right hand man Grin-07 who has had quite the strong street presence since his bloodline returned. It will surely be interesting to see where the city goes with those that are at the helm. I am confident that we will continue to see a strong presence from Grin-07 out of Seattle as well as strong leadership from Don West and Boss EvilClown. The other main focus by the Godfather Council which had shrunk down to just three members was to expand those who had a seat at the table. The clear choices were the two men still standing at the head of their respective cities in Consigliere Vim_Fuego and Boss Uncledrunky. Vim_Fuego had been given the helms of Detroit following the last conflict and so far the city has been slowly growing, but become a stable city that can give the council confidence they made a good choice. Uncledrunky had been given the position of overseeing the Los Angeles project which itself had also been slowly growing, but remaining stable and on track with Magda's VIP Entertainment and TheDonBot's Robot Mafia. Unfortunately with the loss of TheDonBot in Pasadena there was need for a new operation to set up. This is where we saw the auth of Boss Scott_Weiland and his operation known as Velvet Revolver. In many ways Scott reminds this writer of Vim_Fuego in Detroit with what appears to be a love of music. With the launch of this operation there is hope that Los Angeles can get back on track with the rest of the nation as rebuilding goes forward. In my own city of Philadelphia there was the loss of Consigliere TurboCharged which was covered earlier in this article as EvilClown took over the reigns of the United Nations and moved on to Waterfront Seattle. This left a new gap in Philadelphia leadership which would be filled by an already authorized operation under the leadership of Iris. The Java Cartel will be taking over operations of Bella Vista and helping to keep things running smoothly in the City of Brotherly Love. This newspaper is confident that with her strong lineage, quick wit, and take-no-bullshit attitude that Bella Vista is in great hands. Finally, there were many other holes left by departing leaders in the cities of New York and Chicago. These were filled by Consigliere BigNick and Boss Alpharius in the Windy City, while in the Big Apple we saw those holes filled by Boss PrinceSpikeS and Consigliere PaulyD. The latter two were most definitely DTF, also known as down to fill. They knew those holes had to get filled and didn't hesitate to step up to the plate for their city. An honorable mention as the city of Detroit expanded with the auth of Boss Farage who seems to be some sort of corrupt politician with insane plans to buy an island for him and his cohorts. "Corruption in the Mayor's Office" Surprise Non-Existent
This newspaper was quick to get to the steps of the Mayor's Office when rumors began to swirl of corruption. It was nothing short of a miracle that this news had not broken earlier with how much money the Mayor and his people were taking from organized crime. All the laws they were passing and all the directions they looked besides the direction of crime all clearly pointed to it. I suppose it usually helps when the Police Chief is also on the take at the same time as the Mayor. That is news for a future issue though if and when it breaks! The rumors began to swirl of an arrest of an unkown person at the Mayor's Office so obviously it made sense to head downtown and find out what was happening. Detectives were making their way down the steps when most of the newspaper reporters were arriving. In front of them with his hands behind his back was the Mayor himself. Mayor Bradock was heard to have crashed his roadster onto the sidewalk last week with a large amount of cocaine on his passenger seat and up his nose. No arrests were made at the scene, but obviously it became almost impossible for the Police to ignore such a public event. Papers were putting the pressure on with their front page headlines calling for an arrest or a resignation. So obviously that is how we got here to the Mayor being in handcuffs in front of Town Hall. A hailstorm of questions came flying at the Mayor as all he could manage to say was... "I've been framed! I didn't do anything! I'll be back in the office in just a few hours!" Although this writer admires his confidence, it was very misguided after the cocaine incident and plenty of other information that came to light that day. Of course once the Mayor became too much of a risk factor an anonymous source came forward and helped the police build a concrete corruption case against him. Witnesses came forward by the dozens and the prosecution would have a treasure trove of times, dates, and information to keep the man from ever returning to his office. After pulling a few strings I was able to see the BudKnight: "Good evening Mayor! How have you been?" Mayor Bradock: "....What....are you serious? I'm in JAIL!" BudKnight: "Well, I suppose it could be worse sir! So moving on. I have a plethora of questions to ask you. Are you ready sir?" Mayor Bradock: "How did you even get in here??" BudKnight: "Okay, question number one. How do you feel about the allegations of corruption? Although at this point I suppose it is almost set in stone that you will be guilty. I'm sure the readers will still want to hear how you feel or what you are thinking!" Mayor Bradock: "You're not going away are you? *heavy sigh* Well then I suppose I don't have anything better to do at the moment. The allegation against me and my office are completely idiotic, untrue, and fabricated. I have never taken a dime from organized crime and that cocaine from the car crash was planted there by police looking to take me down." BudKnight: "Well, I think that Don Javier would have to disagree on the fact that you clearly took money from him. I even delivered some of it myself. Anyway, moving on. How do you plan on pleading?" Mayor Bradock: "What did you say? You work for Javier? Are you fucking kidding me? You piece of shit! You guys are setting me up for one little mistake! I was free and clear of the cocaine charges! The newspapers were going to give up on the story eventually if you just left it alone. I should have never taken money from you bastards." BudKnight: "Ah, so you admit taking the money? How interesting. I'm sure the readers will be quite interested to hear of this development!" Mayor Bradock: "Huh? What? No that wasn't on the record! Are you even a real reporter!?" BudKnight: "Well, I suppose that is all the time I have for this interview. I have so many more questions, but deadlines are deadlines. My boss is going to want this interview for the paper as soon as possible. I think a admission of guilt by the Mayor of Philadelphia is plenty good to sell some issues. You have a good life in prison Mayor Bradock." Mayor Bradock: "What the fuck is wrong with you? GUARDS! THIS MAN IS A CRIMINAL! HE SET ME UP! ARREST HIM! HELP! HELP!"
That was where the interview with Mayor Bradock came to an end. Quite the juicy details for our readers though as we got an admission of guilt directly from the Mayor in regards to his corruption case! The fact that he was taking bribes to do whatever organized crime wanted him to do is quite a revelation for this newspaper. Hopefully he enjoys his time in prison, especially his time with Bubba. "Short Story" Port of Opportunity
The storm was raging just off the coast with predictions of landfall to happen within the next few hours. Employers and employees alike were running to escape the approaching danger. Winds were already rising in speed and rain began to drizzle down upon their heads. The port quickly became a land of opportunity for the up-and-coming mobster. The question was who would take on such a risk and prosper from such an opportunity. Two young men approached the front gate in a run down truck as the rain continued to fall from the heavens. The gate groaned with each breeze as it tried to break free of the lock keeping it closed. The passenger made his way out of the vehicle and forward to assist the wind in it's mission to open the gate. His tools were right for the job as the metal broke and chains dropped quickly to the ground. Of course nobody was around to hear it happening. The gate was the only visible blockade to these two young men making a fortune off stolen goods. The seat now covered in water, the vehicle moved forward into the port and towards a very specific warehouse. The specific warehouse was where the port authority kept all it's contraband and lost goods. This was where their opportunity was the greatest for success if they wanted to make a good impression on those above them. All they had to do was go inside... Just as they parked the truck a sound approached them....growing into a deafening noise. They were unsure of what it could possibly be until the vehicle was no longer upright. The storm had arrived and it had no remorse for those who had remained in it's immediate path. Winds soared to speeds unheard of as the truck rocked back and forth. The two young men were unsure of what their next move was... The only choice they had was to try to make it inside the warehouse of opportunity. Now it did not serve them as an opportunity of riches, but an opportunity to live. They ran with all their might battling against the winds which knocked them over and pushed them back with every effort. Their clothes increased in weight as the rain drenched them from head to toe. Eventually they made their way inside the warehouse and sat down exhausted. No vehicle to get them home and no vehicle to store all the stolen goods. The storm caused the building to groan and shake just as the gate had under lesser winds. There was no escape and no success to be had for these two hopeful criminals. The storm raged all night. The two young men could do nothing but let their eyelids grow heavy as they waited with nothing to do. The morning came with a quiet approach and the men were awoken by the not so quiet approach of police sirens. With a jolt of renewed energy the men rose from where they had slept the storm away. It was too late as the cuffs were already sized for their wrists. The last thing they heard before the door to the police car close was not the wind, or a man-made structure groaning, but the words of the police officer. "War in the Seven Kingdoms" Shots Fired. Shots Ceased. Shots Fired.
It was late in the evening....or early in the morning depending on when you went to bed or when you woke up. Shots erupted in the city of Philadelphia as bodies of those associated with the city began to fall. The cities of Seattle and Las Vegas had taken it upon themselves to remove the city based off of rumors. They feared a war was coming and that Don Javier was leading it all so they planned to cut off the head of their rumored snake. Their first attempts at wacking known members of Philadelphia's criminal element went poorly and war ensued. Eventually we saw the fall of TurboCharged from Philly and Azido from Seattle. According to reports Don RichardWad went to work attempting a diplomatic solution to a conflict he and many others saw as unnecessary and even surprising. Eventually according to Don Javier himself there was a meeting arranged between the two opposing leaders in this war. You may read a detailed view of events from Don Javier here. These leaders came together and found that this all erupted as stated before, due to rumors. When other leaders came to find out what was happening between these three cities they intervened to enforce a cease fire. This was so the Godfather Council would have the opportunity to meet and discuss what had happened to cause such conflict. Eventually after discussions between all these city heads we were sitting around in a ceasefire that was expected to turn into peace between these three cities. Unfortunately for those from the cities of Las Vegas and Seattle.....New York and Chicago was unhappy with the events that had unfolded. A fellow member of the Godfather Council was almost taken out based off rumors of being a warmonger. There was no proof to help support these accusations so in essence the war was started for no substantial reason. You do not have to look through your ancestors journals to know how that would make leaders in other cities feel. The thoughts had to possibly resemble some of the following...
Now I am not questioning whether or not Don Paradox was a good leader as I have no personal experience with her or the organization she ran. From everything this writer could see from afar, she ran a strong city in Seattle that was prospering and building up quite nicely. Which most likely only made worries, such as I stated above, even stronger in the minds of the other leaders. The fact of the matter is that rumors of a war drove Seattle and Las Vegas to make a move on Philadelphia while the leaders of Chicago and New York slept. The decision was obviously made by New York and Chicago to remove the organizations that called Seattle and Las Vegas home. Shooting resumed and bodies began to fall for hours upon hours as mobsters hit the mattresses. Many mobsters from Seattle and Las Vegas did their best to stay alive as long as possible to try to do as much damage to their enemies. Eventually they succumbed to a lack of numbers and the last leaders fell to the guns found in New York, Chicago, Philly, Los Angeles, and Detroit. As with everything, there are always two sides to every story and I cannot truly tell the opposing view as there is only vague information available past what Don Javier shared with the streets. Well, there was a speech made by the Kin of one of the fallen that can be read here. You can also find a printed translation by Al_Capone who made it quicker and easier to digest for most. Every conflict has its winners and losers. Even if the conflict had ended in a ceasefire with no further bloodshed we would have still had those who lost their lives and those who did not. Therefore giving us winners and losers as always. There will be those who make rants, those who make credible speeches, those who make suspicious speeches, and those who speak utter nonsense. It is for each person on their own to dig through it all for what they find to be the most credible pieces of information and piece together the entirety of the conflict. In the case of the 'Cease Fire War', I think that most have found that the most credible information arrived from Don Javier and those who supported him from New York and Chicago. Although I am just a mere newspaper reporter and they don't pay me the big bucks to truly know all the truths found in behind the scenes meetings. I can only report with the information I am supplied and information I can find. Rest in Peace to the fallen and hopefully we will see a strong peace last moving forward that will be broken for only the most necessary of circumstances. "Crowns Multiply" Everyone wants to be King...
This paper has found some astonishing news unfolding slowly, but surely across this nation in regards to the Monarchy. In early days we saw the rise of KingRevan in Philadelphia where myself and fellow knight SirPewpALot found ourselves pledging our swords and lives. Since then there has been an increase in 'royalty' across the United States. A nation once known for its hatred of the Monarchy in England which led to the American Revolution! We have yet to confirm any of these bloodlines actually have royal blood within their veins, but until we can prove it to be a falsehood we must give them recognition. In New York we have seen the appearance of Prince! A Prince of Morningwood which is a nation or town we have so far been unable to locate upon any maps within our libraries. PrinceSpikeS who is now in charge of his own operations in Brooklyn underneath The Big Green Mean Machine himself Hulk_Smash. Although we have no reached out for comment, we have been assured by sources that he is indeed a prince. In support we have seen the rise of what appears to be a Mouse Knight or Cat Knight known as Hadrian? It is unclear as we have yet to see him without his helmet on. There is also a man going by the name of Zoro who claims to be apart of this Morningwood realm and also a talented swordsmith. While this writer can still not confirm any of this information to be exactly true, he will be making a possible visit to New York after breaking his sword during a drinking game. In Las Vegas we have seen the slow rise of a man going by the name of AegonTargaryen who is currently the Left Hand Man to Consigliere Lust. This man has been making claims that his bloodline is the rightful heir to the seven kingdoms even though King Revan currently holds claim to the throne. Although this man appears to be quite handsome, we here at the Dilly Philly Gazette believe him to be no match for KingRevan's claim or his support throughout the seven kingdoms. One other Left Hand in the City of Sin is known as Tyrant and he even has his own thrown to sit upon! While we are not sure if this man claims royalty or if he just enjoys thrones we will be keeping a close eye on him as the game of thrones plays out. In recent days there has been some conflict to assist in wiping out some of KingRevan's other competition for the throne including the deaths of the YellowKing from Seattle and The King of Rock known as Elvis from Las Vegas. The game of thrones shall continue on in a cyclical manner as it always does. This brave and heroic knight can only hope that KingRevan's rule is long. We here at the Dilly Philly Gazette did reach out to the King for comment, but all we managed to get was this... "Off with their heads!" - KingRevan, King of Philadelphia, King of the Seven Kingdoms, Lord of Nonsense, Destroyer of Guns, and Mother of Dragons. We are not sure where most of those titles come from, but it was insisted upon by our editor that they be added to the quote. I've yet to see a dragon during my time in Philadelphia, but I have also been spending most of my time drinking or doing cocaine. We will keep our ears and eyes open to see what unfolds with these people of royalty across the nation. The Gangster's Handbook Author(s): Al_Capone Review: What appears on the surface to some as what could be called pure nonsense is actually an entertaining and for some informative read. Including information about who should or shouldn't be inlcluded in organized crime, how to improve your standing in a crime family, what to grab in 'animated distaste', and much more. While it may not be where the first time criminal should go in order to improve his knowledge or skill, it is where most should find themselves if they need a good read during their down time. One thing this paper will always appreciate is originality or refreshing new 'projects' brought to the streets for people to digest. Rating: 5/5
Hitting: The Art is Dead, the Trade is Flourishing Author(s): Grindenwald Review: Debates are usually something that are recycled throughout the years as times change. These debates usually center on whether those changes are good or bad for our criminal underworld. In this case a Right Hand Man from Chicago known as Grindenwald decided he needed to bring something to the table. Luckily for most it was a topic that was not the most common of those people will bring up from time to time. It was focused on the topic of building your skills as a hitter. This debate while not as long as this writer believes it could have been (many people these days sit there and share their opinions with only themselves) was well crafted and most importantly followed up on. Many will come to the streets and give a topic for debate where they let others squabble among themselves as they get in the car and drive away. This was not the case with Grindenwald as he actively spoke with those who arrived at his debate. While overall this may have been more of a 4/5, his commitment to discussing the topic pushed it over the top. Rating: 5/5
That's More Than Twenty Questions Author(s): SullivanBlack and Salena Review: This may not be a story that is for everyone as it will intrigue those with a certain taste of genre. The reason it sits so high on the list is due to a non-biased view of the story telling and character interactions. It can always be difficult to take two people and bring them together for one solid story. Not everyone has street presence or the ability to craft a narrative, but these two have found a way to make it work. While I believe it is still a work in progress that does not take away from the rating we are giving it here at the Dilly Philly Gazette. So if you're interested to find out more about SullivanBlack and the mysteries that surround him then take a gander at this story as it develops. Rating: 4/5
Tabloids Author(s): RichardWad Review: While it may not be in the best interest in the first issue of our paper to promote others, we felt that we should at least recognize one of our competitors. So we chose to go with the other Philadelphia based paper, Breaking News!. Which for all intents and purposes is a local tabloid paper put out by our very own Don RichardWad. While we here at the Dilly Philly Gazette prefer to report on the facts (well whatever facts it is that we can find) we can appreciate the skills it takes to write an entire newspaper. If you want the latest gossip on alien life or wish to just read your horoscope then this is where you need to go. I for one hope to continue seeing these papers produced in order to read my own horoscope along with others. It is a lighthearted read that everyone should take the time to check out. Although some wished to attack this man for his most recent printing of the tabloids during his 'Breaking News!' issue, it is believed by this Noble Knight that a reporter is a reporter during the good times and the bad. Rating: 4/5
Oaths and Bonds (The Trilogy) Author(s): Vin and Val Review: Another story although this instance we find ourselves looking at multiple parts. Essentially there is much more to the story of Vin and Val from Los Angeles than just this trilogy. While it may be hard to catch up with how much content has been printed out there, we can certainly find some entertainment value in what has already been printed and what we can hope to see going forward with this long story-line. At the moment we are unsure if this is the story of two individuals or one person with two identities. This is something that has been seen before in the past when Gavin and Tara Byrne graced these streets. It was confusing then and it is confusing now. Still! If you wish to have some lengthy content to digest without feeling that it is over in one quick sitting then go check out what Vin and Val have to offer in the streets. Rating: 3.5/5
UKIP Author(s): Farage Review: This announcement speech of the formation of a new crew in Detroit known as UKIP was one that almost sneaked under the radar. UKIP is apparently short for United Kingdom of International Politicians. The man known as Farage was previously working as a hand in Detroit before being given the opportunity to form his own organization. The announcement confused many as it turned into what felt like more of an announcement that he would be purchasing his own private island for him and his cohorts. We're not sure how long UKIP will be around for as they seem to have plans of leaving the country to form their own Island Nation. In some regards this speech was quite entertaining, but its lack of response from the rest of the criminal underworld forced our hands with the rating. Rating: 2.5/5
Universal Protection Orders Author(s): Paradox (Other Leadership) Review: Recently there was a conflict involving the cities of Philadelphia, Seattle, and Las Vegas. After a failed first wave and then some necessary discussions Paradox came out to the streets to give notice of a cease fire for the conflict. Eventually this obviously backfired upon the Don and her demise came about at the hands of those she agreed to terms with. This quickly led to many coming to the streets to make comment on what they believed to have been a 'big oof' on her part. Eventually Hulk_Smash himself came to the streets after more conflict to post a new protection order over the top of the recent announcement. Rating: Big Oof/5

Each issue of the Dilly Philly Gazette shall include an interview piece to accompany whatever news there is out there in the seven cities. With this being a Philadelphia based paper it felt only right to feature the man running the criminal underworld of the city, Don Javier. We met recently in a local coffee shop to hold the interview. In order to not interfere with the mans business we made sure to get there before business hours. I'd like to personally thank Don Javier for powering through what was a lengthy interview at such early hours. The following is a transcript of the interview: BudKnight: Good morning Javier, how are you doing this fine day? Javier: I'm doing great. How are you? BudKnight: I cannot complain as long as I have my Bud Light and some fine Medellin cocaine. It's a great way to start the day! So jumping right into the interview as we try to help the criminal underworld learn a bit more about you. You're the leader of Medellin here in Philadelphia and at the head of all operations for the city. How did you get your start with cocaine? Did that lead to such a strong connection with Iris as you eventually authorized her setting up the Java Cartel? Since both imports have such strong ties to Colombia of course. Javier: I got my start in Chicago, originally, where I truly developed my love for narcotics. CarolHathaway had connections all through the city hospitals to get us our fill, but if I wanted that pure white powder I'd need to get it on my own. I've been in America all my life, but I had family connections in Colombia that got me in contact with the producers there. RichardWad helped me clear out some of the importers operating in Philly and I set up my HQ in one of their abandoned warehouses. Instead of cutting out the middle man to Colombia, I became the middle man. When it came time to take control of Philly, my contacts in Colombia told me it would be good to establish a legitimate business as a front for how much coke we were bringing in. And I picked the perfect woman to run that operation.
BudKnight: Ah, very interesting. I tend to do so many quests for KingRevan that I've not paid close enough attention to the ins and outs of our legitimate and non-legitimate enterprises. Speaking of the King himself, how did you come to choose KingRevan to be your right hand? You seem like a well thought out and calculated man from your first response and past actions so I assume there were reasons he stood out to you among the rest. Javier: When I was chosen to go to Philly, KingRevan was already making a name for himself. Whether from drugs, booze, or simply delusions, he fancied himself King of Philadelphia despite having no crew nor crew leader. At first, I took him in out of the cold as a courtesy, but he soon proved very useful. In the weeks that followed, he continued to excel in every task I asked of him. My crew would not have been the same without him. Plus, when I first set up, there were not many to choose from and many still believed that Philadelphia was a "purge city," which meant that anyone who chose to work with me would be risking their very lives by being there with me. Those who helped me build my crew, then district, then city up from nothing are nothing short of amazing. And KingRevan was there from the beginning.
BudKnight: Well I am not too surprised to hear of the somewhat humble beginnings of my King. Now the final key piece to the operations in Philadelphia. How has your relationship been from beginning to present with Don RichardWad? Since you two are the only ones left standing from the 'comp city' or the 'purge city' as many would have labeled it under the last regime which you have yourself already pointed out. How did you two persevere? Javier: Well, we actually both started in the same district, too. We shared South Philly. We came from different cities and didn't know much about each other, but the volatility that came after our auths forced us to either cooperate or kill each other. And once we started cooperating- and surviving on that cooperation- it became easier and easier to work together as time went on. As far back as I can remember, I cannot recall any cities that endured what we did and not only survived, but thrived. I think somewhere along the way we both realized we were part of something very special and rode it out- and that led us to where we are now.
BudKnight: Sounds like a couple of strong willed people pushing through all the shit the world had to throw at them and coming out stronger for it. A Knight such as myself can only respect such stories and beginnings. So now that we have covered some of the important people in the rise and success of Don Javier's Philadelphia....How are you feeling about the future of Philadelphia in recent days? Are there any plans moving forward that you could share with us, even if you have to be vague? Javier: Well, it seems Philly is the only city not looking to double up HQs in every district, so I suppose we're the odd ones out in that regard. Regrettably, the last war killed some of the people I trusted and treasured most in this world, so it will take time for my operation to recover from that. I have total confidence in Iris and RichardWad to help me lead Philly forward, but now that Iris has moved to Bella Vista there are no immediate plans on the horizon.
BudKnight: Alright Don Javier, as a member of Medellin it does please me to hear that we won't be rushing things if it doesn't feel right or fit into the current picture of what we should be doing. So shifting the conversation away from the inner workings of Philadelphia a bit. What are your thoughts on recent events with Seattle/Las Vegas and how the Godfather Council has functioned as a single entity? Is it working? Can it be tweaked? Should it be overhauled? With that question I am more concerned with the latter part than your thoughts on those other cities as I know you have spoken plenty in the streets prior to this interview. Javier: I think the Godfather Council worked precisely as it was meant to, but those institutions only work as long as there's more faith than fear in the process. It's why we felt comfortable inviting Vim_Fuego and Uncledrunky to the council, because they've seen exactly what happens to cities that let fear destroy them. And so now, when we make decisions as a council, we're expecting each member to represent their city freely and fairly. If they refuse, there's little we can do for them apart from watch and wait for it to fall apart.
BudKnight: Here comes a long winded question regarding what you've just mentioned about adding members so buckle up. As a member of the Godfather Council obviously you know the ins and outs of what is being planned and has been planned. After recent events we saw the addition of Uncledrunky to the Godfather Council. I wanted to inquire if the Los Angeles project is still in effect or if we have now moved on from that to just having Los Angeles stand as regularly organized criminal enterprise? Will Magda and VIP Entertainment still be focused on the mission statement created by the Godfather Council? I'm sure that many might be interested to know what the future holds for the City of Angels. Javier: As far as we've discussed, Magda retains the mission she was given when she was authorized to set up, and Uncledrunky retains his responsibility to protect and manage her there. The mission in Pasadena was not seen quite as fruitful as that in Hollywood, and with so many HQs out now, it would seem foolish to re-instate it now with another auth. I believe we've discussed folding Pasadena's mission in with Hollywood's and let Magda manage them both, however I personally feel it's unlikely that (with how many empty spaces HQs now have) many of those crewleaders are going to send their greener members to Hollywood to teach them. For now, I'd say wait for a formal judgment from the council, but I doubt we'll be seeing another mission-based auth in Pasadena.
BudKnight: Following up on that. We also saw the addition of Vim_Fuego to the Godfather Council. Is the idea of the Council to keep five seats at the table or will there be a process of deciding when to expand it once it is believed Consigliere Lust and Don West have earned a seat? I know this may not have been something you've all discussed yet so if there is no 'set plan' in this regards then perhaps you have thoughts on it? Javier: This is purely my thoughts, as those issues have not yet been discussed by the council, but I see qualifications for crew leaders to become council members. First, is that faith in the process. If they've only ever served under a council member, they may not believe how it's in their interest to trust how it operates. Second, they need the support of their district heads, which is something that can sour over time. And third, they need to demonstrate an ability to lead without falling back to an existing council member, which can be hard to do. Leadership isn't as easy as it looks, and convincing/inspiring/demanding the people around you follow orders is a characteristic that every council member must have. Now that Drunky and Vim have joined the council, they can't rely on their friendships with their former bosses to resolve matters for them. They either take care of those issues themselves or they bring them to the council as a whole. I believe Lust and West will have ample opportunity to earn seats on the council, but it isn't simply assumed by their placement as city heads. We placed them there because we expect them to succeed, but they CAN fail. And if they do, the council will evaluate their candidacy for a council seat accordingly.
BudKnight: I think overall that most people would be pleased to hear such an answer in today's climate of constantly questioning whether some people do or do not deserve the positions they are given. Now, stepping away from the Godfather Council topic almost entirely and back to focus on the man, the Don, Javier himself. Did you always have aspirations to lead a criminal organization of your own? Did you ever imagine running a whole city and being a strong member of a Godfather Council? Javier: I joined CarolHathaway's crew to be her RHM Cassi's associate. I barely got to Made Man in 20 days. I never once considered being a crewleader until the opportunity to lead a crew in Philly was presented. I submitted my application, largely tongue-in-cheek, because I could not imagine being selected to serve along side Insanely Well Protected Dons. But, I was selected, I moved, and surrounded myself with the best people I could find. Fifty days ago, where I am now would have sounded like a pipe dream.
BudKnight: Well, I for one am glad that you threw your application in with the rest of them. There is one thing to myself and I'm sure some others that has stood out in regards to Don Javier. Being a leader that has such a strong street presence. Did you wish it to be so or have the pieces fallen in such a way that it became necessary? You do tend to bring a lot of news to the masses for the Godfather Council so I'm sure people wonder if you are just the most vocal or perhaps you wished to be a strong voice for the whole group. Javier: That's a very good question! As I'm sure most could imagine, I do love spending time in the Streets. I never shy away from a good conversation, and am often in the middle of things there. However, my role as the mouthpiece for the council originates from English being my primary language from birth. Everything I say on behalf of the council is agreed upon, they just use my English to get the word out.
BudKnight: As many do, I assume you have your ancestors journals to help you with guiding some thoughts and decisions. Or perhaps you wish to live more in the now and ignore what happened long ago. Is there anything or anyone else that helps to strongly guide the way you choose to lead? Javier: My journals go back about ten years, but they all say largely the same thing. Those who have worked for my ancestors would see similarities in how I trust my people and protect them to the best of my ability. There are individuals who certainly contributed to those beliefs across the years, like Sal_Giaquinto, VendettaJames (who inspired a love for Dr. Pepper), and Rita_Hayworth, but I think at this point in my "ancestry" I'm more driven by guiding others to reach the success I have by following my example.
BudKnight: Finally, I would like to give you the opportunity to make any statements or share anything with the masses about yourself, the future, or whatever might please you to talk about. I know that in such a short amount of time we cannot cover everything that is on your mind or my own. I want to make sure people get the best image of who Don Javier is over here in the city of Philadelphia. Javier: I didn't get where I am on my gun, my bodyguards, my credits, or my friends from ancestors. Some, myself included, will say some of what I've gotten is just good fortune (after all, how many times can you wack back a top 3 gun?), but sometimes we get lost in the "numbers" of this world and don't bother to take into account how useful it is to communicate well, lead honestly, form real relationships with people, and not let fear get the best of you. I'm living proof that anyone can make it.
BudKnight: Well with those inspiring words from a leader that has certainly built a name for himself, I wish you good luck with future ventures. Especially since you having good luck tends to mean good things for me since I'm part of your crew. I look forward to seeing what else you and the Godfather Council can do for the criminal underworld moving forward. The newspaper business has always been one that comes and goes whether that be due to death, retirement, regime censorship, or just plain lack of commitment to it. The times currently seem to be one where the streets are beginning to thrive again including others who have taken their chance with the newspaper game. The Godfather Council appears to be more vocal and also supportive of people coming to the streets. This is obviously a positive change after how dead and lackluster the streets had become under the previous regime. The Dilly Philly Gazette will continue to post issues moving forward with the hopes of doing one weekly. Although this cannot be promised and perhaps even there will be situations where issues come out on a quicker basis. The news never sleeps so you never know when a special issue will need to drop. One of the biggest issues moving forward will be the 'commitment' mentioned earlier or the drive to keep printing issues. This can be heavily affected by the amount of work that goes into creating such an in depth paper. So again, just as advertised throughout the paper there is hope that there may be some applications arriving to join the Dilly Philly Gazette. Whether you want to write stories, manage advertisements, conduct interviews, or have some other role you believe could be beneficial then feel free to drop BudKnight a line. Another hope moving forward will be that the Dilly Philly Gazette may begin hosting competitions, rewarding those who put in effort in the streets, or even paying those who assist with the development of content. Vim sat at his table feeling sick and sorry for himself he had had another big night his band Bad News had kicked ass Katerina had bought in the morning papers for Vim to go over so far he had not been impressed with the reporting so far. The Dilly Philly Gazette: Issue 1 Vim went over it his eyes lighting up at the mention of his name while his band didnt get a mention that didnt really matter Vims greatness was acknowledged looking up at Kat Vim smiled "Remember to remind me to give BudKnight a call he might even be able to plug my new single Bohemian Rhapsody " Kat feigned interest while sipping her coffee it was better not to engage Vim when he was like this kat just nodded her head and smiles. Vims eyes narrowed as he read on " What the Fuck? Kat did you know about this?" Vims Face contorts in rage "Fucking @Scott_Weilend has started some dumb band out of Pasadena Stone Temple Pilots what sort of name is that? Vim is nearly over come with rage " This calls for action i need a sneaky little shit you know some kind of turd that can get stuff done on the sly i need to find out everything about this band and prevent them becoming as popular as Bad News bring me Trey" Kat had only seen Vim this worked up once and that was when Simplicity has said that Slash was a better guitar player then him. |

Scott opened the newspaper to see that he had been mentioned he had wondered why the crowd was getting bigger and bigger with every gig now he knew he had been plugged in a big time news paper. Reading on he saw a name he knew @Vim_Fuego they had met a long time ago Scott saw that he too had his own band shame he didn't know anything about them never heard a single one of there songs maybe they would make it big time soon and maybe come and tour out west

Mikki stumbles into headquarters and enters her office, hair messy and sunglasses still on, and tosses a stack of papers on her desk to review all her new recruits. As she takes a sip of her latte she notices The Dilly Philly Gazette on the corner of her desk. She takes off her sunglasses and opens the paper and begins to read. Intrigued by the news of the major and laughing to herself about the article of the recent war, she sets it down and calls Al Capone into the room to discuss a brilliant idea she had. She puts her coat on and grabs her latte and heads out with a cheeky smile knowing things were about to be shaken up in our world of crime. |

Uncledrunky stumbles down the streets and pulls a paper from the dispenser for something to read while he sat at the bar.
He takes his rightful seat up on the bar stool and takes a look....
He can't read.
"WAITER!!! I NEED BOOZE!!" Drunky yells.
The waiter shrugs and brings him the bottle as Drunky lays money down to pay for it. He slams the whole thing in less than 30 seconds and waits as he feels his eyes refocus as the alcohol soaks in. He takes his time and keeps his lube on as he peruses through the newspaper...
Honestly, he couldn't have anything but respect for a guy who's name is Budknight. He found himself equal parts entertained and informed, and hoped that the newspaper would continue. |

Ahh Thanks for the wonderful paper! Finally I have something to read while in the toilet in the mornings. I'm loving the interviews, it gives us a perspective of what kind of leaders we have in our streets so hopefully the interviews are a recurring installment in the next paper issues.
