Hello people, Just wondering whos hittin up the festival this year and if so what do you think about The Darkness headling??? I think its a joke and just a slap in the face to metal monsters like Disturbed, Korn, Rob Zombie and many other great bands that are performing this year. I dont think The Darkness have earnt the right to headline the download festival! Not taking anything away from them, im sure other people love their music and i respect them as musicians but c'mooon theyre The Darkness! But on the plus side it leaves a gap to see the mighty Korn who i know will be awesome as they have been every single time ive seen them. Also System Of A Down!!!!! I cant wait. Who were the best band youve seen at Download? Any funny Download stories? Get intouch people, its almost time ROCK!!!

Mostly I agree with you about this post. But I respectfully disagree about KoRn.

Hmm i take it you disagree about the fact of them being awesome and if that is the case i see your point. 09 at download they werent great but i blame that on the sound quality. They were difficult to hear at some points but c'mooon, Theyre KORN! lol. You hittin up download this year dave? Avengend Sevenfold are gonna be amazing, awesome stage show and jus a great soundin band.

I used to have a friend that played guitar for Avenged at live shows. She can be seen on some youtube videos, it's really neat.

How can you call Korn terrible? How many "terrible" bands do you know that have travelled the world, earnt millions and have hundreds of thousands of fans? lol. If you said theyre not for you, fair enough, but theyre definatly not terrible man. Thats cool, i never knew they had a female play for them. Sinister Gates is an awesome guitarist.

It's not that I think KoRn is terrible, it's just that they never really captured me like others did. I do have respect for what they have done musically however

and on Avenged Sevenfold: I don't think she did any recordings, and I'm pretty sure she isn't involved with them anymore. She's a songwriter and session musician, and was in one of those "Oh gee, we could get really bi--wait, why am I fading into obscuriNOOOOOOO!!!!" bands

 The fact that you can name all these proves my point. A "terrible" band, in my eyes, is a band that cant make a living of what they do. All those bands on your list may be disliked by people, me included, but they have made more money and had more fans than ill ever have and in my opinion thats not "terrible". Anyway who would your perfect band be to headline mainstage download festival? For me is was Slipknot i think. They were awesome and the pits were just buzzing with adrenaline at the end of the set! They need more live bands on in the small tents in the village at night time i reckon. The year the Pendulum DJs turned up in the Duricell tent was amazing. All apart from that nutter that climbed the rafters and after hearing chants of "drop!, drop!, drop!" decided it would be a good idea to let go and fall 20ft into a crowd that werent really willing to catch him. Needless to say i dont think he'll be doing that again soon.

It's not all about money. The best music is not being put out on major labels.

Uk man. Dillinger Escape Plan, Trash Talk, The Ghost of a Thousand, The Carrier, OFF!, Your Demise, Touche Amore, La Dispute. Quite a good line up for the price the tickets are. Look it up there's plenty more playing.

Download got System of a down! thats all i needed to be persuaded to go download.lol. Sonnesphere got Slipknot an Metallica!!! May have to do both this year!

89 quid and it's in Kent. Festivals are expensive business when you're about to go uni so I have to make do with the cheapest haha
