Wandering out into the streets, Curtis could see the unexpected surprise on the faces of many. Some hard working innocent mobsters that make up the life-blood of the community, and the usual collection of goblins eager to quench their thirst for controversy so they could spend the next few weeks spouting theories and virtue signaling about things they would be doing if only they had the chance. Luckily, Curtis was never one to give a fuck about dickheads, so he stepped forward and addressed the mob calmly.

"Good evening. I've come here to explain what happened in Seattle this night."

He could see the mental hands going down the pants of all the hate-drunk  tabloid-minded cretins in the front row. How he pitied their empty fucking shells. Still, he was here to speak to the record and so he went on.

"Tonight I ordered the removal of Ragnarok and Schedar. They were removed for very simple reasons. We recently spent days chasing a rogue around the country while he shot numerous valued members from almost every city. There was virtually zero help from one of these crews and an alarming number of people helping the rogue coming from the other. In the end, when everyone was pulled out and in need of people to stand up and be counted, the truth of their priorities was proven in their action. I could not tolerate that. 

Now I'm sure this will be disputed, ignored and used for conspiratorial nectar, so be it. I have no concern for dickheads. If it quench the gossip's thirst for controversy, fine. I know the truth is mine.

Knowing full well there was no point staying to argue with those that don't listen, Curtis walked calmly through the crowd and into a waiting car.

Its wild. I seem to remember my father constantly hunting down Defender. I believe he finally went to sleep after chasing him for 14 solid hours. But, If the blatant lies to the streets helps you sleep at night, please feed us more.

Curtis's words cannot be trusted. This should've been evident to everyone by now. Like Grin-08, loyalty is meaningless to him. His mouth is a septic tank of lies.

People are responding to this as if no one knows the author isn't a bad faith actor?  Why even call him out?  Everyone knows this was planned in two stages from the start with most of Chicago being taken out before the Defender incident.  He was just a delay to the inevitable conclusion. 

NakaokaShintaro I believe he said 'There was virtually zero help' not that there was zero help. Your father may have worked his ass off, but given the damage caused by Defender the other night, did you expect your father to be saved when the decision was taken to remove Ragnarok and Schedar? If your father had been pulled aside and offered a chance to live, knowing that his friends were about to be slaughtered would he have accepted that offer, or would he have rang the alarm bells and orchestrated a defence? Whilst there were no doubt good and decent people killed earlier this evening there was no way they would be allowed to survive the slaughter of the rest of their crewmates. This is the Mafia, and no one makes it out alive, the best you can hope fore is to live as long as you possibly can, by what ever means are available to you.

I fail to see how my thoughts pertain to activity. Everyone was jumping on the bandwagon claiming Curtis said tonights removals happened because when the chips were down those two families did nothing to help. I simply pointed out that that was not what he said, and no amount of tear soaked wishful thinking will make it other wise. Perhaps in days to come or months from now Grin will die at Curtis' hands, or Tetley or perhaps SammyNoShoes will kill everyone for not having Washlets and inaugurate a new 1000 year dynasty. Who really cares? This is the life that we have chosen to live, and if you can't handle that then perhaps you should become a chicken farmer or a bus conductor or something.
