Rosario's Started by: Frank-Rosario on Oct 29, '20 03:17

Detroit was still able to supply alcohol in the middle of the Prohibition Era.  All over the country, men were buying low and selling high bottles of liquor and barrels of beer.  The money was to good to deny and the risk just as high.   Frank loved the dollar and Canada was less then a hour away by truck.

Frank once worked for Joe the Boss in New York the biggest booze dealer in america.  He opened the bar here because he had most of the police captains on his payroll.  He and his brothers were on the deed of everything Rosaio and this was no different.

Beer 75 cents a mug

whiskey 50 cents a shot, 90 cents a double shot and $1.10 a triple shot.

Sandwiches cold 50 cents.

Sandwiches hot 60 cents.

While in Detroit there was always a bit of a dull in what to do with his time. While the city was a huge hub for workers, both legitimate and otherwise, there wasn't a whole lot in the ways of wasting your time once you had finished your business and were now just looking for a way to relieve stress-- except for one, bars.

There were a whole slew of them and hearing that somebody from his home city of Chicago had opened up one in their sister city, Azathoth decided that he would check it out. His first step inside was met with a bit of a homely feel and he quickly shuffled his way over towards the bar itself where beer seemed to be on tap.

"I'll take a glass of beer. Keep them coming as I finish them.", placing a couple dollars down to show he was good for the request it only took a second until the drinks began to flow. This would be a good night.

Frank spotted an associate from Chicago walking in.  Frank was happy to see members from chicago in detroit.  Frank looked at the bartender and gave him the nod to put Azathoth drinks on the house.  Then Frank went back to talking with members of the Detroit combination as they wanted to conduct some business.

During is daily walkabout, Genesis was thinking of trying out a new place along his route. I sees a place called "Rosario's" not too far ahead. He decides to stop by for a drink.

The place was quiet as he entered, but he liked the silence. He heads for the bar and takes the closest seat. As he motions for the barkeep and takes out a cigarette and lights it.

"Good day, my friend. I'll a glass of Bud, please"

Frank walked back in to his establishment and spoke with the staff as he ordered a beer and a hot ham and cheese sandwich.  He sat at the bar while Neri and John sat by the door watching anyone walking in.  James sat across from Frank and had a beer also with a slice of peach cobbler one of the workers brought in.  Frank was thinking about a great deal of things one of which was how was his @Lucky-Lucy doing out in Vegas.  She was suppose to call him last night but fail to call.  He called the guys that he hired to watch and protect her and they reported that she was hustling and they were working hard to keep up with her.

Frank also thought about his up coming meeting with Bonanno and Profaci they were also bringing in Stefano the Boss of Buffalo New York.  They wanted to increase their order of heroin and Stefano wanted to get in with his own order for four hundred pounds a month for his city his action in Canada which was why Bonanno and Prpfaci wanted to increase their orders.  Frank pitched the idea to Stefano and Stefano being a man that loved money and numbers realized he could make a killing.  Then Stefano told his cousin Joe Bonanno and Joe told Profaci and now Frank was going to supply alot more these three men would one day be more important later down the road.

SamRind ordered a Reuben sandwich with fries. It must be his go-to food choice. He looked over the patrons and wondered what this place had to bring to the world. Every day brought new ideas.

Rosario's struck Ashura as the kind of place where he could go and just relax. No clients, no business meetings, nothing. Just him in a casual setting, sipping a drink and snacking on something tasty. That was the kind of place he treasured the most -- the loud clubs and needlessly extravagant bars tended to grow old quickly. And yet, he had to frequent those places for business, if not pleasure. This meant that when he finally had the free time to go somewhere, he chose to find places like these and enjoy the experience as much as possible.

Walking into Rosario's, Ashura found a table in an unassuming corner of the bar and flagged a waiter. "I'll take a double scotch, just some water on the side. Bring me your best stuff. And I'll take a hot sandwich, your chef can whip up whatever they think is the signature dish for the day," he said. He then stretched himself out a little as he let out a sigh and relaxed. He began looking around the bar unobtrusively, wondering if he'd run into someone he knew. Bars were literal hubs for fortuitous encounters, after all.

When Hanabi heard that Frank-Rosario had another business here in Detroit, she could not help but check it out. It seemed to be a bit simpler than the other ones but yet not bad in any way at all. Simple but good would probably be a very fitting description hat she would put here. The woman looks all around and then at the man giving him a little hug as a greeting and ordering a sandwich asking if he could put shrimps in it. Sometimes she does forget that she is not in Japan.

Frank watched the people around him turn looking at the woman that just walked in.  Frank stood to his feet and saw what everyone else saw.  Hanabi walked in and Frank started to smile as he walked up to her.  He gave her a slight bow and then smiled again as he fought the urge to hug her in front of so many people she did not know and it was not her custom to be hugged in public.   He nodded to her to follow him as he sat her a one of the best tables.  He called for a waitress and handed her a menu and told the waitress to bring his private stoke of sake.

"So you found my other spot?"  I'm very happy to see you young lady.

Velvet has spent more time on a plane doing business meeting with CA's and helping her familia' out, pissed at the the last deal she eye's off many other places to stop by quickly before making tracks she meets eyes with the sign saying "Rosario's" the name sounded familiar to, she'd seen it somewhere. Ahh.. yes over in Philly.

She walks in, glances at the menu and smiles " ahh... perfect Triple shot and a cold Sandwich would be perfect..."

walking up to the counter "'Ey busy day? can I please order a triple shot of whiskey and a cold sandwich? 'Tanks love"  she offers a warm smile and places the change into the Tip jar giving a wink to the employee's. She takes a seat at a available stool, reading the newspaper glancing over what's happening in what was her mother's home town a few years ago. Moment's later the triple shot of whiskey and sandwich are laid out in front of her.

" That was quick! thanks!" she takes a long sip of the whiskey and melts slightly at the smooth taste of it, followed by a few bites of the sandwich, she was impressed.

SamRind ordered a Reuben Sandwich with fries. He cherished items with melted cheese. It reminded him of his days when he only had bread, cheese and soda in his house. Better times now. He did a mental review that he had everything he needed for his trip back to Chicago

"This has not been our day," Takkar sighed and stared at the glum faces of the two men sitting across him. They had picked a table in the corner, away from the unruly bar crowd, to discuss business. "Why are the damn drinks taking so long to arrive, " he slammed his fist on the table and looked around for the waitress who had taken their order. When he couldn't find her he turned his attention back to the two men.

"That money was for our loan shark business. Why did you have to go and gamble it all away," he growled at Depression. "The casinos are rigged kid. Did you really think that you could make money in there, "Takkar shook his head.

"And Hugh , why is that strip club still open? You promised me that you would burn that place down, " Takkar scowled and continued. "You didn't enter that den of sin did you. There is no way you..., " before he could finish, the waitress returned with three beers and placed it in front of them.

Depression sighed, "Boss I'm better at gambling then you'd think, I only went down 50 bucks today! Tell you what, I'm feeling generous today!", he gestured at the waitress to come back to the table. She arrived only a few seconds later. "Could we please get another round of drinks ma'am, and toss in a couple shots for the boss, he looks like he needs them!" Takkar scowled, and Depression was surprised Hugh hadn't chuckled.

As the waitress was walking away it seemed obvious why he hadn't laughed, his eyes were glued to the waitress's caboose. "Hugh! Haven't you spent enough time in the club. Don't you ever get tired of women?" Takkar rolled his eyes, and almost successfully contained a grin.

The sound of shot cups clinging together broke the uncomfortable silence. "That's a lot more than a few shots.", Depression said. "It's gonna be one heck of a night!"

Velvet watched from the rear of the dining area @Takkar, Depression  and Hughthe gents were flustered, Depression looking meekly around and Hugh looking smug... the noise from the dining muffled their conversation.

She continued munching away at her sandwich, she waved over at the waitress for a double whiskey on the rocks.

knocking the remainder of her drink back she approached the gents with a smirk " fancy seeing you here aye? mind if I take a seated?"

Frank was happy to be home and in his own establishment.  He took a seat at his normal table and ordered a t bone steak and a loaded baked potatoe, it came with broccoli and two potato bread dinner rolls.  He also ordered a white zinfendel wine an then lit a cigar.  He sat there thinking about tomorrow when he looked up an saw a young womans face that he had seen and spoken to each other a few times before.   She looked like she was in deep though and what little he knew of her he knew that she was making one hell of a plan whatever the situation was.

Salvatore arrived to Detroit for a quick trip, he was here to have a meeting with his business partners about purchasing a property. When the meeting was over Salvatore decided to grab something to eat. He decided to go to Rosario's. This time he took a taxi, no personal car or bodyguards, just he alone. He arrived at Rosario's, paid for his taxi and walked in. He found himself an empty table and took a seat. As he sat down, a beautiful young waitress approached his table.

"Hello sir, is there anything that gentleman would like to order?" She smiled as she was talking.

"Yes, can I get a few salmon sandwiches and glass of beer please?" Sal smiled back.

Waitress wrote everything down, excused herself and went to prepapre the order. While waiting for his order, Salvatore pulled out a pack of cigarettes and lighted one up. It wasnt too long and waitress was back with Sal's order. Salvatore thanked her and gave her a little tip for kind and quick service. She thanked him back and then excused herself. Sal tasted the sandwiches and they were good. It was perfect dinner. When he finally finished eating and his beer, he got dressed, walked to the counter and paid for order. He thanked the owner of Rosario's and walked out. Got a taxi and drove to his hotel.

Now that Azathoth was in Detroit he had heard word that one of his old partners in crime Muddle had been doing some work here in the very same city. While their paths diverged and she ended up in the large city of Philadelphia and he in Chicago, they have kept their lines of communication together mostly by telegrams and the random plane ride to the others city-- however this was one of those rare instances where they were both in an entirely different city altogether and could meet up and enjoy the sights and sounds together and what place better than one that serves food such as Rosario's.

Rosario's

He made it there a bit late after ordering his donuts and finishing the coke deal that brought him here in the first place. The cocaine was always so nice in Detroit, something about it being so difficult to get the drug here which drove demand through the roof and the man was happy to oblige with demand as long as it made him rich.

I wonder what is taking her so long.

Looking down at his watch he tapped his foot against the floor while taking a seat. Could she be standing him up? Surely not, they always were perfectly amicable with one another and she had shown no signs of being upset with him. So what could it be? While he waited, he pulled a snickers out of his pocket and chewed away on it until a waiter showed up expectantly.

Yes, yes. I'm just waiting for someone, but I'll take a water in the meantime.

He nodded and walked off as Azathoth continued to eat his candy and wait for Muddle to show up. Hopefully the wait wouldn't be much longer or else he would completely spoil his appetite with more of the treats within his pockets. Oh well!

Muddle stumbled in to Rosario's with a bit of a scene. As she walked in she brought a gust of wind with her and papers flew everywhere. Pushing the door shut behind her she scans the room for her pal. She couldn't see him. Was he hiding? Did he not turn up? She slowly walked down towards the back and spots him slyly eating a chocolate bar. She takes off her coat and draped it over the back of her chair and sat down.

Hey there, you. Its good to see you.  Muddle leant over and greeted him with a friendly kiss on the cheek then sat down again. You are looking so well.

On that note the waiter turned up to the table. Muddle ushered him away telling him she is still browsing. She picks up the smallest menu she has ever seen. Beer and sandwiches. Sounds good to me. She ponders over a steak and cheese sandwich then looks at her partner in crime. Anythng you like on this menu?
