Asher steps up

"Hello everyone , I’m sure you’re all very curious as to why the events of today transpired. I will keep it short and sweet, as I’m sure everyone is very busy. Philadelphia and New York had seen a breakdown in communication with our friends in Los Angeles. During the revolution, we were in frequent contact with one and other. But In the past few weeks we started to notice that Los Angeles had become quiet. After discussions took place with several leaders, everyone agreed that it was strange. Now, there was no fake logs or anything like that, the city of Los Angeles are very respected by many and the marksmen of the city will always be known as some of the best this world has had to offer. But because of breakdown in communication and the respect we hold for the prowess of LA we felt we needed to act before they were able to harm us and our familes. Ultimately, this was just business.

We would like to add that any wise guys and below are free to join new crews and the bloodlines of the fallen are free to join anyone they want to when they return to these shores. "

After a significant period of laying Low, Mezz had risen to wander the streets. After witnessing Asher give communication to the world about the justification for recent events, he had witnessed a crazy young buck shouting wildly to a recently dispersed crowd.

It was then that his blood started to boil, but rather than roast the young buck in the rules of Omerta and respect for your elders. He decided to have a quiet word. 
 

"Yo! StumpyMcBride, I am guessing you lost a relative in the recent engagement. My condolences for your loss, I too lost some dear friends. But shouting into thin air won't do anyone any good - I am not too certain that you are familiar with this world, but the rank you hold does not dictate your eligibility for death.... 

There are two types of people in this world, the hitters and the protectors - the latter, usually under Wise Guy, but that does not exclude a young buck from having a keen eye.... So you see in war, every rank has it's role to play and can be equally as dangerous. 

In summary, your grievance shows your lack of understanding for this lifestyle - May I suggest you take up chess... you'll soon find out the true value of a pawn."

There's not a lot to say here. It is what it is.  

Asher, I thank you for coming out and speaking to the community, and I hope that the kin of the fallen find prosperity and grow up to find even greater success than their parents.

 Rosa pulled the lollipop from her mouth and waved it in the air  absently minded as she spoke.  

 I am sure many of us appreciate that this regime, unlike many that have passed in recent months. Now before someone comes at me and denies this anyone can read the past news prints to see this.  The young teen sucks on her lollipop for a a couple seconds as her next thoughts form.

Anyways, as I was saying I am sure many of us appreciate that this regime has taken the time to come out here and deliver to us a message of what is going on between cities.  It is refreshing also to see the protection orders  are circulating around.  I have read in old papers that was not a practice of the last regime. 

We can only hope  that the young in our mists learn from this and communicate with their uppers as well as communication between cities staying active.  Myself included as I am just a child myself.

As for grudges it is a  persons prerogative if they are going to feed the hate in their heart and seek revenge for past regressions. Not realizing that revenge just continues the hate in their heart while trying to spread it to others. The young girl paused in thought for a moment.  When I was  young at the orphanage in Palermo the nuns would ignore the temper tantrums from us young ones. Then when the tantrum was over they would deliver the lesson we were to learn.

I mean, we're really getting off the topic at hand here, but I'm happy to discuss the policies of this world with just about anyone.

I don't know specifically what occurred in the case of the "under made" person that died - but I do know that it doesn't do any justice to that mobster to come out here and complain about a protection order.  The truth is that you'd be hard pressed to find a lot of people who care. 

I really don't think there is a black and white rule as to whom falls under a protection order and who doesn't.  Anyone who reads it that way probably needs to be a little more flexible.  What's to say that any wise guy may wouldn't wake up and start shooting at low hanging fruit pf another crew?  That's not a risk that any Don or Godfather necessarily needs to take for the safety of their own family. 

Frolicking around (OOC: online) at the time of the conflict without a crew to hang in?  Likely dead. 

I wouldn't trust the protection order against all the guns out there to save my ass necessarily.  I'd probably go out and find a crew leader willing to take me in.

There's a million things you could do to secure your safety rather than just sit on the laurels of a protection order which (let's be honest) is noble - but difficult to control. 

One of the most useless arguments is the "Well, we've always done it that way" argument.  The rules of this world lie with those who have the power and intelligence to make them. Not those who died in the past.

Oli was a single mom, Fickle often went to work with her as she went about her business in Los Angeles. Today she was alone after the passing of her mother. She was ready to move on as her mother would have wanted, but she couldn't help but squint and wrinkle her nose as she listened to Asher's explanation. She felt the need to speak up, not out of anger, but for the people of Los Angeles. She didn't want the family of the fallen to believe that their leaders were lax in their duties. She was too young to get up on the soap box so she did a little hop and plopped her butt right in the middle of it. Swinging her legs back and forth she looked out at the crowd and began to speak. 

It all started in a little, dedicated group of like-minded people that worked hard to overthrow a regime that was hurting business.  Many members of the group were welcomed by my mother and her associates and were hidden within previous crews they controlled. There they could build and succeed in the revolution and life in general. As the group grew they appeared to be focused on a common goal with eventual friendship's bonding them which led to eventual success. Clearly what one thinks and what is, are not the same as proven by recent events. I think what bother's me most is the audacity to say there was a lack of communication by any upper structure in LA.

There was a casual group we liked to call Uppies that LA uppers frequented more than most... well more than everyone. There were also countless private conversations between many leaders of LA's upper structure and the rest of the country. My mother had public and private conversations with Asher regarding the business of careless Philly members shooting LA's corrupt agents. This didn't happen once, but twice. The most recent, very long winded conversation, was less than four days ago. Asher spoke of how Kaya was nervous because she didn't receive a timely response from Bill (an hour or so) when she informed him by mail of the incident. Why would she be nervous? The man has many responsibilities and assumed Oli was informed as well, which she was not.  Asher contacted Oli and profusely apologized because it was the second time this had happened. My mother assured him that this was the first she had heard about it and she understood that sometimes these things happen. She even told him he was taking it harder than need be. This was a low key, friendly conversation on my mother's part. Did I mention it was just this past Tuesday? I know I did, but driving the point home. 

Family members of Los Angeles, may your loved ones rest in peace and also rest assured that the only reason your members were killed in the dead of night was because of the one truth buried in Asher's comments. The two cities were scared because they had one rogue that took out an LA member and two LA CA killings. They acted in fear and paranoia over the mistakes of the members of their cities, perhaps they should holster their guns and put some work in and train their members rather than attacking the victims of their city's carelessness.

First off as a lollipop expert I have to tell you people salty ones are not the good ones to be sucking on.  Put your salty lollipops away.

Indifference I am sorry it sounds like something from the I am paranoid book when people speak of the unsponsored person and their fear of being shot by them. Just because a few bad seeds will rogue on you , doesn't mean all unsponsored will. That is a tad bit paranoid. We  also all know the protection  order is a matter of courtesy, but it  is a courtesy that shows respect for fellow mobsters, not just those who passed but the living as well. The complaints about the last regime not posting them should have made that plain as day.  As far as respect,You want it, you have to give it , you don't just get respect simply because you have been on these shore for generations.

Also you sound like you are not aware that people Do not have to be sponsored anymore if they choose not to be part of that regime, and they are not being a threat  then you have to leave them alone by law of the land...  Just because they are unsponsored does not mean they are going to randomly shoot you. Your heart is full of fear, you need to release that or it will eat you up. 

Fickle dear I understand your loss, but pointing out what the original speaker already said isn't going to make them look bad. Unlike the last regime from all accounts of the historical papers.  This one was open about it.

Wlfie stood and smoked while thinking of the most he just had heard and understood really many after this latey war that totally sweeps out the whole LA, he makes a cross-sign and hoped all fallen in LA could rest in peace and not haunt and spook to many soon after this sad event that happened them all.

Many generations here have come and gone.
It use to be against the local law to shoot anyone of wiseguy or less.
Then it changed to WG under a certain amount of days.
Now it is just kill everyone until we can put out late protection order.

Success is based souly on shooting the other side while they sleep.

Some of what you say i agree with and yet some i just dont. Yes many Generations of mafioso have been born and died, whether its old age or from a bullet that had their names on it. A lot of things in this life have declined, and i suspect that certain things will continue to decline and new things, good and bad, will arise.

I find it terribly ironic that your complaining of Wise Guys being shot, considering if the cement shoes were filled on the oppositions side, you would have been doing the exact same thing. Im not privy to why some of the Wise guys and below were shot, but i think it would be safe to assume that they were potential proers, so ill stick with that. You know you would have done the same, We all have done the same at one point or another, and we all know that that will never change. 

Now onto the second point i disagree with. I have prayed to the gods in the past and they have answered them several times, not just for me but for many other souls in the past. Success is not based solely on someones ability to shoot a gun and hit their targets. Success is measured by a persons ability to prove to the rest of the world that they are more useful alive than dead.

Did people want a formal invitation a declaration of war? Since when was the Mafia about such things? Pretty damn sure when a hit man comes after me he isnt going to give me a polite phone call because the last thing that hitman wants is for a ready Rick Rude to be able to nail him with the most devastating finishing move in the entire mafia world the Rude awakening. But since you all bought me out to the streets i may tell everyone the truth about LA and you will be even more disappointed with the events that caused such a large loss of life then what you was told about here.
