In my own personal experience, either way is gonna get you killed.

In ideal circumstances, of course, we should always side with the godfather of our city. It is by extension of his or her will that our own crew leaders are in their position, and so ultimately we are in his debt for the protection we recieve and the ability to work in his city.

However real life is rarely as clear cut and well defined as this. Although the Godfather has ultimate control, they are much too busy to interract with more lowly members of their city, doing so would take all day and detract from work neccesary for the day-to-day running of a city. Whereas your own Crew Leader and their upper structure generally form a more personal one-to-one bond with their members. You learn to tust their word by nature, without any questions.

I suppose I hope we would all make the choice I outlined first; the structure is there for a reason. But in the heat of the moment the heart may win over the mind."

Hmmm it is a tough question...but in the end id have to say. The loyalty should lay with the crew. Your cl and your fellow crewmembers are those you work with and takes risks with on a daily basis. The cl job is to hammer his crew together like a tigthfit and loyal machine. The gf is to command the city and the respect of the crewleaders he allows to run their crews in his city. So my answer is...the loyalty should be with your crewleader. Then comes the but   cos ofcourse theres always the but. If you know what your cl is about to do or have started doing is pointless, stupid or just surely arent gonna lead to anything good for your fellow crewmembers or the city as a whole things offcourse is different.

I've broken every other accepted morality, backstabbed good honest men and killed, stolen and pillaged.

I'll go with whomever I think will be the one standing after all of this.

This one is not easy, your oath is always with your crew leader, thats how i see it.
However, if you are in one family, and that said CL bemones a GF and you have to move to a new family, your oath should then be with the Godfather, over your CL, as the godfather is the person who tool you in and looked after you.
Thats how i see it anyway, but i still respect both greatly.

This decision is easy for me. While you are correct, one does take an oath to both the Godfather and their direct boss. The only problem with that is this, your boss also took an oath to that same Godfather.

Seeing as both you and your boss work for the Godfather I would support the Godfather because everyone else is under him/her, everyone else owes their lives to him/her, all respect is due to the Godfather.
