Who would win and why?
I go Tyson everytime. He is stupidly fast and has scary power. Knockout Ali, Everytime! |

I disagree, "fly like a butterfly sting like a bee"
Ali is percisioned he knows where to hit, when to hit! Tyson is just all power and he wastes his energy, when he is tired after fallen for Ali's "Rope-a-dope" Ali should knock him clean out! |

Even Ali himself said he would not fight tyson in his prime! Tyson has just as much speed and precision as Ali did. Would be a close fight but i say Tyson KO everytime. Tyson is very under-rated for what he achieved. |

Although I dont like Ali, I would still have to say Ali, he's smart, quick, great footwork, but who know's anything can happen dealing with power fighters. |

Tyson is a raw animal and I think Ali would win. What about Roy Jones, Jr., would he be able to take down Tyson? |

Joey I am gonna answer your question first. No I think Tyson would own Roy Jones. As to the question posted here.....Ali all the way. He can take a punch AND give some back. |

Henry Cooper almost beat Ali, so what chance in hell would he have had against Tyson. Might hate the fella but he was a formidable boxer. |

Tyson 8 times out of 10... that guy was a beast in his prime.
Could of gone down as the greatest if he didn't go off the rails |

I would of said tyson as is a different era of boxing for the two. tyson had better equipment, training and nutrition and that raw agression which would of been devastating. |

Muhammad Ali:
Fights: 61
Wins: 56
Wins by KO: 37
Losses: 5
Mike Tyson stats:
Fights: 58
Wins: 50
Wins by KO: 44
Losses: 6
I don't know who's better, you guys see. Anyway, out of all his 5 losses, Ali was knocked out only once, whereas only one of Tyson's losses didn't end him being knocked out. |

Tyson was a great fighter- you're talking about two of the 5 best of all time, so it's splitting hairs. I believe that Ali in his prime would beat any other fighter in their prime. Consider that the absolute prime of his career was cut short by 3.5 years due to the stripping of his title and his arrest/suspension due to his refusal to fight in Vietnam. This is not a place to debate one's opinion of Ali doing so, but the simple fact of the matter is that he would most likely have 10 more wins or so, and his suspension also directly influenced his loss against Joe Frazier when he came back too quickly. It also certainly contributed to him fighting long past his prime and losing 3 of his last 4 fights. Point being, in Ali's case as good as the stats are, they don't tell the whole story of how great he was. |

Tyson was the architect of his own downfall, he let the fame, money, drugs and women affect his boxing, no doubt about it. On his rise to the top, he was unstoppable.. just a shame he was scared of heights.
You've also got to look at his last fight against Kevin McBride when he basically didn't turn up and only stepped into the ring for the money.. as he said in the interview in the end when he retired.
As Crawford said, you can't judge it based on stats as this does an injustice to both boxers |
