I don't know what everyone else thinks, but it kind of bugs me when a character has actually been alive for like a year yet their start date says they were born 2 months ago.   It's deceiving because through their profile they look 2 months old but their game stats and skillsets are that of a year old player.  No one knows when their actual start date was anymore.

In real life, your rank can get demoted but if your 40 years old you're still 40 years old.  You getting demoted doesn't make you younger.

I realize that their birthdate doesn't change, they could technically make Earner in a day or something like that.  You can still include the minimum day limits, just from the day they were demoted instead, not from their birthdate.  The math shouldn't be too hard to do. 

Just a thought.

Possibly run two dates?

DOB and ... whatever the date they started being a criminal (which is the one that gets adjusted for demotions)

I think two dates is too complicated.  I think just leaving the date of birth is fine. 

I couldn't agree more with this suggestion. The established process of demoting people, BGing them up, and having them re-rank has made the "start date" incredibly deceiving. There is a value in knowing when a character begins, and not just when their current ranking begins, and that should definitely be expressed in the person's profile.

"Two dates is complicated." Don't mean to be disrespectful, but how does that make it complicated. If anything that makes easier to understand and spot the differences. Maybe if we have DOB like the wildcard said. And directly beneath it have DOD. Date of demotion.
For example;
DOB:Mar 18, '11 17:10
DOD:Apr 20, '11  18:59

I don't know but I reckon that could work. Im all up for this suggestion, makes a lot of sense.

I suggested this once in the past, so I'm firmly in favour of it again!

Although, I'd prefer only the actual start date in the public profile. Day of last demotion can go in the profile edit page with the other stuff.

I'd like to see the real start date in profiles, but have the 60 Seconds list reflect that of the demotion date. Or possibly like Aizlynn said, have it viewable only in the edit profile page

I'd like to be able to see the demotion date of other people too!

I'm a curious person, I find it interesting to know how long people have actually been around.

It isn't very appealing (the words). I don't know what could go there but.. I really don't like the idea of seeing Demotion on a profile. It looks tacky. Only things I could come up with is..

These would look a lot more appealing over the word Demotion. (I like the first one the most)

In my own opinion "Date of Last Demotion" looks no less 'tacky' than displaying "URL", "Threads/Posts", "Rank" or some of the absolutely nonsensical quotes people insist on using around here. The profile is far from 100% authentic.

Anything else, like those suggestions above, are just unnecessarily ambiguous.

Well I'm not quite sure what I would call it. Some of the suggestions have been good. I'm definitely in favor of this addition to the game. Because I hate seeing people who have been around for a couple of months get demoted and now they look as if they are new to the game when really they have a lot of kills and money under their belt. It is decieving and very unrealistic.

A way around this is to look at their unique id.

That never changes. There is about 1000 created per week.

So this will tell you how old they really are.

If the unique Id is obviously thousands different from somebody next to them in the online list it is painfully obvious they have taken a demote.

With a little calculator wizardry you can then estimate when their real start date is no matter if they have taken several demotes :)

Or just compare their unique id number to others on the online and active list.

We already have the tool to do this.
