This particular spawn was manually forced as a "Sorry for the downtime". |

This game is getting ridiculously too based around donations and durdens now. |

I dont believe for one damn minute that ANYTHING should arrive on an expected schedule. The durdens should just radomly spawn at various points in time. This MIA counting and complaining about it not happening at proper times is utter bullshit. |

I can see EvilClown's point. |

For avoidance of doubt the point the only point I am trying to make here is as follows:
Current MIA spawn rate per hour gives a cyclic durden time of 95 hours (+/- 2 hours).
Becasue 95/24 = near as dammit 4 days, we now have the situation where the durdens will ALWAYS appear in the early hours of GMT.
Ok if you are in any other time zone than Evilclown- the EU.
Shit on a stick if you are in the EU.
"WELL SPAWN THEM FASTER!!" I hear the admins cry.... Would prefer it if you created a forced spawn at a time when Evilclown europe was not going to be in bed for EVERY FORTHCOMING SPAWN.
Or until the MIA/hour rate increases / decreases to a level where we have a durden --> durden phase time that is not divisible by 24.
Capiche? |

Nothing is preventing the spawn rate from changing. If you know a way to get it to automatically change, make a suggestion. |

The only way it can change is if admins change the amout of mias killed before durdens are released or ....a group of people kill more over said time or not kill mia's at all untill the process changes? then revert back?
a ball ache as you will lose out on mias if you stop?

My vote is that we leave it unaltered and while we're at it, we revert MR time back to EST SexyBeast chants USA! USA! USA! East Coast Time Zone! East Coast Time Zone! East Coast Time Zone! |

I agree with SexyBeast. I like a US time zone especially seeings how the game is based in the US anyways. |

Cheers for the data squishy.
I think i garnered most of this when you posted it up in #DL not long back.
But will recheck and plug into my spreadsheets.
Trees / MaccaJ, I think you are missing my point. I do not want to alter the natural MIA spawn rate. It is what it is, it changes with time dependant on the population that is shooting. However it ALWAYS follows a Normal distribution. I am a secret nerd, I like to spam numbers so to be honest ignore my musings if the statistics don't do it for you :P
When Newyork died we dropped from 6 per hour to 5 per hour.
At 80 hours the durden arrival time fluctuated over the time zones, no problem. And as you can see from the data squishy has kindly posted up the usual cycle was:
Early hours --> Afternoon --> Evening --> Morning --> Late afternoon --> Night time (rinse repeat)
If the MIA spawn rate stays as it is (My data says it will for the foreseeable) the spawn cycle will be:
Obviously giving a certain percentage of players and advantage.
"The proof of the pudding will be in the easting" I may be wrong. We will see what time of the day the next natural spawn comes about from this latest one.
Ill put my balls on the line and say : 6/26/2011 0:51:00. Guess I had better check the batteries in my alarm clock. |

As much as I hate whining over the time Durdens spawn.. It would be nice to actually be awake when they spawn without needing to be up at like.. 2am in the morning UK time. |

Why can't it just be simple and spawn once a week at any time during that week period? Be completely random. |

Because those of us with obsessive compulsive disorder will then be forced to play rubiks cube instead of counting the mias. |

EvilClown as a Eurozone player I agree that IF what you say is right then it would be an unfair advantage to other players and would hope the admins would see what you say makes sence and try and impliment a fair system.
Other than that just putting it out there that I am impressed by your math skill. |
