I was just wondering who do you guys (and gals) think hosts the best mixed martial arts competitions?

I myself enjoy all of them however UFC has alot of the more popular events and arguably some of the better fighters but I personally really enjoy STRIKEFORCE fighting competitions the most because they are the only ones between the four who hosts women mized martial arts bouts too and for me that is just too good to miss!

Pride WAS the best - now I think there is no question it's the UFC with the talent pool and amount of events.

And women MMA is just like the WNBA - irrelevent. 

I have to disagree with you on that last point mate. Where womens MMA may lack the harder hits or grotesque injuires that may occur in mens MMA it makes up for in aggresiveness and sex appeal. Unlike the WNBA or women boxers most of the women MMA fighters are actually quite attractive and mostly in really good shape and they still have alot of great fighting skills, heck I know plenty of men who probally couldnt beat some of them women in a real one on one fight!

Pride was the greatist, Wanderlai is the master. UFC is the best now but Strikeforce is very close behind. Womans MMA is awesome and it does not lack anything. They punch hard, they destroy limbs with great submissions and they are just as brutal. Plus they are hot!

Cant wait to see GSP vs Anderson Silva, that is gonna be a war. And i wanna see Phil Davies SMASH Rashad "Cocky" Evens :)

Did anybody get a chance to see the Chieck Kongo vs Pat Barry fight on UFC? If you didnt I really suggest looking it up on youtube or something. It was honestly one of the most astonishing things Ive ever had the pleasure to witness in ANY sort of fight PERIOD!

OMG Chieck Kongo, what a beast. He was out, managed to avoid being kept on the ground and then delivered a right uppercut from hell! The right hook set Barry up though, he went into kill mode and tryed to charge Kongo, Bad Idea.lol. It was awesome.

I still think Kongo is a plug. The guy spends most of his time kicking his opponents in the balls. Great come back against Barry, but he still needs to be cut.

Id probally have to say Floyd Mayweather Jr... The guy is just super cocky but besides his attitude he is cold! Gotta love that defense and hand speed not to mention how truly accurate he is. The only downfall is he doesnt really throw alot of haymakers or get alot of real KO's... even though his TKO's are usually pretty dang outstanding!

I think if it was an MMA fight then Sapp would stand a great chance, if he took Tyson to the floor i think it would be over. I'm gonna give my opinion and then comment on some opinions I read here.

I think UFC has the best promotions overall. I agree that it would be even better if they had females fighting at least every now and then. They could make them exhibition fights or whatever if they consider there aren't enough fighters to fight for a belt or a title.

I never liked Pride because they fight in a ring. They could be in the middle of a great moment and then they have to stop it and be dragged into the middle. I always found it retarded (with my apologies for my honest opinion).

6ig_G_Money, I have a question for you. What do you think about women that watch MMA mainly because of how "hot" the fighters are? I think you lower the female fighters when you involve "sex appeal" into the mix. The same way I don't find it "hot" to see them fighting, I don't have gay thoughts when I see men fighting. I just admire them for their athleticism and professionalism.

And just my honest opinion on GSP Vs Anderson Silva. I hope it never happens. Unless Silva is the one to cut weight to meet GSP. If not it's unfair for GSP.

Axe your right about Pride but that is the only thing that let it down, everything else was awesome.

GSP is going to crush Silva. So I'm sure they'll be fighting at a catch weight, so the bulk up for GSP won't be too bad, nor will the cut for Silva. It will be a great fight.

I cant stand GSP...for obvious reasons...

To make a comment on pride(etc) I prefer the ring over the cage, more room for striking and better visibility.

StillSmoking: there is no UFC schedule in on December 31st, although there is a rumored UFC 140 in Montréal December 10th. I'm not aware of anythign officialized for GSP vs Silva… where did you hear it from?
