Chalmers Park Started by: Peter-Gangi on Dec 17, '21 22:58

Pete found a Park in the inner city of Detroit lower eastside.  The park is small with walking and bike paths and a few trees and benches to sit on.  There are a few small cemented grills to cook on if you bring charchol, each grill has three nearby picnic benches.   Surronding the park are a few very old homes all of which are landmarks historical homes.   Its a peaceful place to sit and think things out.

Pete sat on a park bench looking at the empty park, he gave a smirk as he sat there alone.  He pulled out a pack of smokes taking one from the pack before puttng the pack back into his inner jacket pocket.  He rebutton his coat and then pulled out his zippo cigarette light and lit the cigarette.  As he slowly exhaled holding his cigarette in his left hand he was fliping the cover of his zippo lighter up and down.  He was thinking about the holidays that he once shared with family verse his last two.  Pete was missing his father, and his two best friends.  Pete gave a smile because his mom got her wish Pete gave her a first class ticket on a steamer to Sicily.  He ensured that she had security and cash enough to buy all the family gifts and then some.  Pete would be alone for the first time.  Before he realized it he was putting the cigarette out.

Lighting another cigarette Pete was in no hurry to go back to his apartment or have a another meeting with anyone with another problem or great idea.  Today he wanted to be Peter Gangi the man who has honor and not a man of honor.  Pete looked down at his pocket watch and saw that he had been there for an hour already.  He started to think about his childhood friends and a young girl that he had eyes for but she moved to another state.  Pete learned quickly that America has a lot of room and growing to do and this was the time to capitalize on any and every thing you can.

It had been almost two weeks since Pete had been to the park to think, He was watching a few local kids playing football.  Pete was smiling as the shorter kids started running the ball ducking and weaving yet running faster then the taller kids.  Pete then lit a cigar as they played on.  Pete wished the guys were with him with beer and sandwiches.

Enzo was walking down the streets of New York when he came across this park. Walking in he took a look around taking it all in. What a beautiful place to come and relax, he thought to himself. Pulling out a pack of cigarettes from his coat pocket and drew one out. Bringing it to his lips as he grabbed a match lighting it. Taking an inhale of smoke and exhaling it out. Looking around as he continued to smoke finding a bench to sit on. Taking all the sights around him as he relaxed for a moment.

Julius wore his olive color overcoat as he took a stroll through Chalmers Park. It was a chilly day but a beautiful one nonetheless. With each exhale, his breath turned into fog before dispersing into thin air. He needed to warm up. A smoke would do him some good. He took a seat onto the nearest bench and pulled out his leather cigar case. The letter "J" was engraved on the front facing. After a moment's gawk, Julius pulled out a royal cuban. It was of fine quality and had a great taste. He then used his cutter to remove the end before lighting and taking a puff.

Pete smiled as he opened a late gift from his family from across the pond.  His grandmother sent him his great grandfather smoking pipe.  With a sack of his great grandfather's favorite tobacco.  Pete sat there as a tear formed and slowly rolled down his face as he remembers the man that would sit with him and tell him stories while puffing on that very same pipe.   Pete stuffed some tobacco into the pipe and pulled out a matchstick and lit the tobacco puffing and blowing out a trail of smoke very slowly.

Pete sat outside the wind chill made it feel as if it was 5 degrees outside.   Pete watched a group of kids playing football.  He was smiled as the young men yelled and screamed and danced on each successful play.  Pete recalled his childhood and nodded with a smile on his face.  He wished he could go back in time and re-enjoy those days.   He unwrapped his sandwich and ate as he continued to watch the free football game that was displayed before him.

"What do you mean the shipment was hijacked?" he said erupting in silent anger.

The tree's in the park swayed back and forth as a slight breeze rustled the tops of the branches.

Sammy hadn't been in Detroit long when he got the call that some local wannabe's were pushing on his turf back home.
There was a payphone just out of earshot of the nearest bench in Chalmers park.

"I don't care if you can't find the shipment, I want them dead." he expressed while keeping his head on a swivel.

When things started getting heated, Sammy always needed a place to take private calls that couldn't be traced back to any particular hotel room or business and a public payphone happened to be the perfect solution to that problem.

"Look, I don't have much left to do here and then I will be back first thing tomorrow morning. If this isn't resolved by the time I get back it will be your ass on the line, Vince!" he said half defeated by the barrage of bad news.

He slammed the phone back on the receiver. Returned back to his car and drove off into the evening.

Vic came to Chalmers Park it was on the lower eastside of Detroit.  He was there to speak with a few of the local street gangs since the breakup of the Purple-gang.  A few locals that thought they were stronger than they really were.    Vic wanted to gather them together and make a deal where they would buy from him and sale in their territories and help reduce the crimes such as break-ins and murders.  He would maintain the peace between the rivals and keep the local cops inline of course they would feed him info to give to the cops if shit happens on their streets as a good faith effort with the cops.

The leaders of four of the five arrived on time as Vic sat by the swings with Tony and Ricco.  Carlos was in the car.  After a half hour of waiting Vic started the meeting with the fifth crew losses out and his territory will be sucked up from now on the city will be divided east west south and north.  If anyone runs into a problem, they all have that problem and they need to come to him and they will form a plan.  Reduced bloodshed is the key.  He has the Cops so we will make them earn their pay and look good in the process.  They will need to start buy legit businesses and he has the legal services to help them get started with loans to by small business to clean their own money and grow into industry leaders.

They were all onboard as Vic continued with what was to happen and what must never happen.  They all committed to the plan as they would be the only dealers dealing high quality heroin in the city.   He product would never be stepped on so they had to cut it down themselves and the inferior products would fall on their own.  The customers will see to that.

Stefan always enjoyed a good walk in the morning to help freshen his mind, so as he was walking around Detroit he happened to stumble upon Chalmers Park. From the outside it looked small and peaceful, as he walked into the park he followed the path which was surrounded by trees which had local wildlife in running around, from squirrels hopping from tree to tree and little birds nesting on the branches.

Stefan slowly walked along the path taking in all of the little creatures he could see, even trying to feed one of the squirrels a nut but it seemed that the squirrels were more worried about humans than what food they had. With that Stefan dropped a few nuts near one of the trees so that the squirrels could enjoy them later after he had continued.

After walking around the park for 20 minutes or so he decided to have a quick sit down on the bench just to recuperate his thoughts and take in how beautiful the park really was. Sat down in the bench relaxed he almost nodded off to sleep, he then proceeded to stand up and leave to continue his business in Detroit.

It was spring and Victor was looking forward to the warmer weather.  He walked around the park watching parents with their children flying kites and laughing.  Vic liked seeing the kites in air as he watched the different shapes and colors fill the sky.   Vic took a seat on a park bench and lit a cigarette and sat there smiling as he remembered how he always wanted to fly a kite.  His father bought him one but never had the time to reach him.  Vic had to learn on his own, shaking his head he realized he learned a lot of things that way.

Gnash sat on an old tree stump at Chalmers Park.  He watched the sun set behind the horizon, what a beautiful view he thought.  Although Gnash had almost everything he could possibly need at his age, he wished life was just, well simpler.

After snapping out of his trance, Gnash stood up from the stump and headed back to his car before it got too dark.  He had a lot of business to attend to next week, so he had to get his head in the game.  He needed to study his game plan he and his comrades came up with on how he was going to move the biggest shipment he's ever dealt with.

Everything will be set into motion next Thursday, so he had plenty of time to get everything just right.  For now, it was time to turn in for the night and get plenty of rest.  Off to the house it is.

Skad finished up in the breakfast spot and told the lads they need some time to plan some things before they can make the next jump on the Agents they were hunting. Sal recommended going into a Park as its discreet and has much public around and won't be anything out of the usual.

"You reckon Sal? What did you have in mind? Lead the way Id say"

Sal smiled and got into the car with Skadoosh and Joey. He drove around for a little bit and ended up infront of the Chalmers Park. It was a really old Park that was established but not much went into developing the place. It had some houses surrounding it, which were old as a museum, but that didn't bother Skad as there was no one living in the house.

They found a nice spot and sat down. Skad pulled out his diary and started crossing things out - This time it was 2 CAs down and more to come. The next CAs were a bit of a handful since they had been working for Skad for sometime now and knew the way around the city and how to keep a low profile. Sal told Skad that the handler still was following the other CA PeterRichburg. He had sold upwards of 2mill+ in Drugs and kept around half a million under the books without informing Skad.

Skad wasn't going to let him go that easy, his way of death was going to be a torturous one as Skad thought to himself. He also told Joey that they will need to get a place/rent/buy in Detroit, so they can setup a base there for future operations as things become more busy in the city.

Sal said he will go check out the Complex and places around the city and told him to meet him again in a couple hrs in the Business District. Joey disappeared into the park crowd. Now it was upto Sal and Skad to do this job nice and calm. Skad asked Sal to find a spot where they can interrogate the Agent and get those details out of him before putting him to sleep.

Sal mentioned there is a Complex in the city which has a secret room underneath where things/meetings can be conducted. Skad was keen to check out that place...

Fat_Horse was in town for a few hours and decided to check out what the city of Detroit had to offer.

After asking around a bit, someone suggested checking out Chalmers Park.

Fat_Horse thought this was a fine suggestion as he does love parks a lot.    They give the freedom to walk around as he pleases without worrying about bumping into too many people.

Chalmers Park sure did not disappoint.    It was very peaceful and definitely not packed with people, just one or two others when he visited.

After walking around the park a bit, he found a nice shady piece of grass and decided to lay down and take a much-needed nap.

Sal walked around Chalmers Park and smiled as he sat on a bench drinking a orange sodapop.  Sal watched as people walked around the park holding hand and talking with there kids.  Sal loved being at a park where he could think and just be.   Sal wished he was back in Silicy looking at the old citys and eating outside and talking with the locals.  Sal enjoyed the light cool breeze from the wind and the soda he was drinking.  When it was empty he placed the bottle in a collection bin for bottles and then Sal walked back to his car where his driver was waiting.

The smartly dressed man raced around the park on his goat cart. It was the best open space in all of Detroit to get some fresh air in your lungs and you could really get some speed up as well. He hurtled around the course the set up by Conqueeftador who was of course an extremely keen gardener. He was especially proud of prize winning watermelons. The goat cart flew past the finish line. Conqueeftador stopped the stopwatch.

"Impressive, 10 seconds faster. I guess this high performance goat feed really is working".

The impressively attired chap jumped down from the cart and gave each goat an induvial pat. It was vitally to treat you animals with care. Ye he may have been a big beefy boi mobster but there was no need for animal cruelty. Leaving Kristo to take care of the goats he began to walk the ground with Conqueeftador. He spread out his arm in front of him.

"Here I want a new shed, I want a top notch facility. Only the best for the Detroit's finest goats. Do we have the money for that?"

Conqueeftador shrugged.

BBB thought for a moment.

"Ahh we will just tax DeathbecomesMe more, it will be fine."

He continued to walk and talk with Conqueeftador.

Kristo stood there looking at the goats muttering to himself then goes about taking care of the goats and made sure that they had some food and after he took care of the goats he stood there looking over the lot of goats then he turns to look around the ground just checking out the land out of habit. As he was looking around it took him back to when he was a child before his mother left him and his father, he remembered a time that his parents took him to a lake, that was the first time he noticed a difference in his mother towards them. He quickly shook his head and went back to caring for the goats cussing under his breathe at the memory that came up in his head.

He walked around where the goats were at looking at each one to make sure they were good to go, then he went back to his post and stood there waiting for his next orders from the boss, he was glad to finally found a family that cared. Just as he was preparing to walk away from the goats one of them screamed at him just for even attempting to walk away he turned on his heel and looked at the goat and shouted "What's the hell is your problem goat?" The goat just looked at him as if planning revenge.

Quadir was standing at the grill flipping the ribs and hamburgers.  Vic sat at a table a few feet away to his right, Day-Day and Cheeta stood with him talking and flipping burgers and hotdogs on grill number's two and three.  Keith sat at a table to Quadir's left drinking a soda.  Their were a few dozen friends and family members and a few dozen empolyeesfrom motown and their families.  Quadir was sponsoring the cook out and the kids were playing and they had the atrist of motown singing so of their greatest hits.  Others would walk by and stop and listen and some took pictures of the event.

Quadir was talking with Berry and his sisters about the business.  Only Berry knew that Quadir was an investor and owned twenty percent of the entire operation as he gave Berry a loan for one third of the start up money.  They were drinking soda's and laughing as Quadir was enjoying the city and music.
