With as many things that we are still discovering and as many people who have said they have seen one why can't they be out there. The Bible even says "Worlds I have created worlds without ends, worlds I will yet create". So if you believe in a God is that proof enough.?? Science says that there is probably thousands of plants just in the milkyway that could sustain life. So why would anyone really believe we are alone in the universe. |

| I believe there has to be something else out there. Once we finally realized how big everything is and how small we are. There is probably another civilization out there very similar to us. | |

Someone gave me this book that was more or less based around the idea of first contact and I can't say I really enjoyed it but there were a few ideas I found really interesting. There is something called The Femi Paradox that more or less wonders why there is such a high probability of extraterrestrial life versus the lack of any evidence whatsoever. Now, to explain that, there is a theory that any civilization advanced enough not only to pick up Earth's extraterrestrial messaging but to act on it (ie travel here) would almost by definition have technology capable of destroying it. Every incident in human history of civilizations with advanced technology meeting civilizations with primitive technology have generally ended very poorly. So what it - called the Dark Forest theory - posits is that the radio silence we are receiving throughout the cosmos supposes that if all life is self-preserving, and there is no certain way to know if other lifeforms will destroy you if given the chance, there are only two options worth doing: hide or destroy others before they have the chance to destroy you, ie every civilization is a quiet hunter in a dark forest, or they are the quiet prey who hope not to be found. Bringing attention to yourself is trusting in the benevolence of lifeforms you believe are intelligent enough to hurt you, like a variation on the prisoner's dilemma. It is very silly because it obviously presupposes that there aren't any other civilizations simply like Earth out there, who are just curious, or that military technology and expansionist ideas would exist in as cynical a form extraterrestrially as they do on Earth. But it's a fun idea. The truth is probably something closer to the fact the galaxy is just far, far too big for anyone to get anywhere or contact anyone. |

Just by chance alone there but be other life forms out there. they have recreated early primitive life forms here with a mix of amino acids and simulating lighting. |

My uncle discovered a viable planet once, and was going to travel there in a rocket he built with input from some Nazi war criminals who were granted asylum by the allies in 1945 and who drank in his local war. When they weren't giving rousing renditions of Erika, these men could design sophisticated space going rockets, and domestic carburetors. My uncle planned to visit the planet he discovered, but was visited by 6 men in suits, who told him that if he went on his voyage, they couldn't guarantee his safety. Four of the men were standard federal goons, but mere months later, my uncle recognised the other two: Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong. And the German? They claimed not to exist, and the bar they all drank in disappeared. |

| I believe in ufo’s. The has to be something out there. Just look at the size of it all. No simple words can explain the vast space. Now look at the advancement of science in the past century. Lifted off the ground to a mission to the moon. Plus the atom bomb. They definitely needed to come take a look. | |

An interesting topic for sure. I love going to space exploration museums and think about this. Exploration or E.T. is a different topic though. On the latter I once picked up a quote from a movie or famous person, that went something like this. |

I definitely do. I have seen to much evidence not to believe they are out there. To many strange coincidences. Now, with todays technology, I think the Navy believes they exist. Maybe Commander Faber will convince you. To me, this is the most compelling, credible case and believable. It's all on screen for you to view backed by a respectable US Navy Pilot of saw it first hand and lived it. Just an amazing story. I'd have to say, they mean us no harm and are just either, living amongst us or simply observing. They seem to like the ocean and what a perfect camouflage it would offer. |

I definately believe that there is life in the universe, other than ourselves, and that there is sentient life on many planets. Whether they have visited us, or we will ever visit them, is another matter! And, with the latter, whether our current civilisation will survive long enough given how we are destroying our planet even before we get to wiping purselves out through a nuclear war! |

i was hoping that someone would continue this thread, and so my name wouldn't appear for too long as the last responder to a recent thread. I doubt that what i said could be the final word on the subject. However, i still believe in aliens and i do wonder what they would think of us, assuming that they can see what we are doing to each other down here. |

Do I believe in UFO's? No.
Do I believe there's life out there? Yes, it's almost impossible for us to be the only living thing in the universe. Who knows what form other life might take though. |

I see a lot of ufo's. Most of the times when I'm able to see them better, they end up being flying insects trying to bite me. |

I believe there are UFOs, not from another planet, but from ours and other countries military. Documented and filmed instances by our military and pilots prove that they do exist. My theory is military exercises of unknown or developing weapons. |

I read few theories, and they are all equally horrible. If we are only conscious species in the whole universe, we are screwed. If we are not, we are also screwed. But there are few reasons we might be ignored if outside life exist, one being, we are too simple for them and our technological level is still considered primal for them, too primal to even notice us. Second, we are still carbon based, eeeew. And many more things that I forgot about. But in the end, I think it is much higher chance to have life outside Earth than not, Emperor protects. |

Believing in ufo's or not there is a very good chance that we are not alone in our own galaxy let alone the universe. If the governments of the world know they exist why wouldn't they tell us, would that not push people here to get along a little better than we do. People would strive to be better and push the world to more space exploration. |
