When I was in my early 20s I booked a ticket with my best friend who talked me into going on a cruise. It was going to be my first vacation ever. She told me that we should get an inside cabin to save money since we would not be in the cabin much. I agreed to the who plan up until she bailed a week before the cruise. When I asked her what happened. She said she was using the insurance clause to skip the trip, by having her doctor write her a note. I told her I never even knew about buying insurance for that. Long store short I learned a few things from that lesson. Other co-workers were pissed with her for ditching me but encouraged me to go out and have fun anyway. I did have a great time despite the crappy inside cabin. Lol. I went to take a nap before dinner, missed dinner and breakfast until cleaning crew knocked on my door. So I went to get food on the shore excursion of my own making, because yeah I didn't plan ahead on needing money to pay for special shore excursions from the cruise. So I stopped at a restaurant on the local island. I reviewed the menu and thought what would my father order, since I wasn't going to eat the type of breakfast my mother ate on her diet. I ordered steak and eggs. Well not sure what it was a steak of because it wasn't beef. Plus the eggs were green. I looked at it for a few minutes. ( This was way before people clicked a picture) Then I said I can do this and enjoyed the meal. |
