So me and Andrew_Paxton have been arguing all day about Dier Dr. Pepper and Dr. Pepper.

I said that Diet and Regular taste the same! Like Mnt Dew. While the other such as Coke and Pepsi taste tottaly different as a Diet.

He says that it's not even close.

SO! Does Deit and Regular Dr. Pepper taste the same!

The short answer is NO.

Diet Dr Pepper does not even resemble Dr Pepper. 

For a diet soda, Diet Dr Pepper is probably the best - but that doesn't mean it tastes like Dr Pepper.  It doesn't.  Period.

I'm holding out hope, however, that Dr Pepper Ten does taste more like te original.

ARE YOU MAD! I'm drinking a diet Dr. Pepper at this moment! It taste the same!.....but....then agian. I haven't had a real Dr. Pepper for a while.....damn diabeties...

As a fellow diabetic, I can tell you that your taste buds must have been decimated.

ANYTHING DIET has that horrible after taste that I have to now deal with.

I don't understand why people on a diet drink soda in the first place? I don't understand why people could like "Diet Dr Pepper" to me in my option it's horrible taste really nasty.

I'm diabetic. So I have to drink diet drinks or water. :(

While Ive never had Diet Dr.Pepper(currently drinking a Dr.Pepper atm!) I have to strongly dissagree about the Mtn Dew thing you said. Diet Mtn Dew tastes NOTHING like regular...However these days all I drink is water and tea...and the once a week Dr.Pepper at work to keep me awake lol

I Like The Non-Diet Dr.Pepper Better Can't Drink The Diet One Well I Can But Ain't.

Bottom line is Diet Dr Pepper tastes nothing like Dr Pepper.

Yes, yes I am.  

Having experienced Dr Pepper, Diet Dr Pepper, Dr Pepper 10, and Dr Pepper Zero, there is no alternative to the original.  

Dr Pepper is THE BEST soda on the market.  Diet Dr Pepper, while it tastes most similar to it's regular alternative, it does not taste like Dr Pepper.  Dr Pepper Zero - the alternative that is supposed to taste like the original, doesn't.  But it isn't bad if you can't have sugar.  

Should I drink Dr Pepper?  No, probably not.  But I don't smoke and don't drink alcohol, so I allow myself my vice.  

I'm a Dr Pepper guy when there are only Coke products available.

Pepsi is my favorite.

Yikes, not for me.  Coke Zero guy, but by far the best diet drink of the lot is Diet A&W Root Beer you can't really tell the difference.  You go what that was diet, your BSing me.

i haven't tried diet Dr Pepper, but i recall liking Dr Pepper when i had it many years ago.  Sadly, i try to avoid fizzy drinks entirely but particularly the non-diet - ie fat - drinks as they contain unnecessary calories.

Plus, all that fizz has to come out of you - and there are only two potential exit points, neither of which are a polite outcome. 

So, are fizzy drinks realy worth it?  Are they actually better than tap water (assuming you are in a country where your tap water is safe to drink?)

Diet Dr Pepper is close to the original, it is hard for me to tell the difference. But I am also a Coke Zero fan if I am craving a soda.

Well as a diabetic, diet drinks are an easy way of cutting out unnecessary sugars.  So I prefer to drink Diet Dr Pepper over regular Dr Pepper.  That said I like when my blood sugar collapses and I get to drink a small amount of the "real stuff"!

Nothing ever tastes the same. Diet Pepper, Cola Zero, Pepsi Max and all that crap. For me, I can taste the difference, not while drinking, but once you stop and swallow (thats what she said), the aftertaste is different.

But this "ZERO SUGAR" for me is crap anyways, zero sugar just means no simple carbohydrates (table sugar), but they have some other, God knows what chemicals there.

Also, sugar is NOT bad, simple sugars are bad, table sugar is a simple sugar, it's crap, no energy value and all that.

Complex sugars like honey, that is what your brains eats, almost exclusively brain eats sugars.

Neither of the above! I'm old school, and I drink my old school cherry cola. Mr. Pibb is the way to go. Dr. Pepper is a doctor, supposedly, but nobody ever calls him Mr.! That's because Mr. Pibb is a soda deserving of respect and Dr. Pepper probably isn't even a real doctor.

Non-American here. I have seen and heard about Dr. Pepper countless times on TV shows and movies. It was not sold in my country.
Long story short, I found myself in a new country (for work) and I actually found a Dr. Pepper. I bought one and I realised it was cherry based.
I can't tell you of my disappointment. (I do not like cherries)
