I'm Chuck Testa, here to point out that we still DON'T have a war speech.

The pouchy old man slowly walks onto the street, a long day of taxidermy-ing behind him. With a glance over his shoulder he surveys the still present signs of the recent war. The blood that painted the streets. The bullet shell casings littering the storm and sewage drains. Hell, the dead bodies that had yet to be properly disposed of. The United States FBI and media were having a field day with the amount of violence. They were as much in the dark though as many of the mobsters who were involved.

While I would love to use this speech to plug my business, Ojai Valley Taxidermy, I know there are far more pressing matters than who can make the most lifelike dead bear. Answer: Chuck Testa. However, my standards are not the matter of discussion here. The standards of this world. Of our newest leaders. That is what matters most in the here and now.

As the small crowd begins to grow before Chuck a boy slowly raises his hand. As if asking to be selected to share his views. Chuck grabs his stuffed badger and uses it like a scepter to point toward the young man.

Question m'boy?

Hesitating he coughs slowly before turning to look at his leader standing several feet behind him in the shadows. "But ahhhh... you're wrong. The leaders do have standards."

NOPE!

Chuck chuckled to himself cheerfully.

The leaders have failing standards. In fact a question. Have all our world's standards gone out the window? I won't sit here and criticize how families are being run. I won't waste my breath on quality of leadership or lack thereof. I will however mention that the common decency of being granted a reason for war has not been extended to the general public.

The leader spoke up without hesitating. "You're a thug. Leaders don't have to answer to you. Or listen to you. Or even acknowledge your existence."

NOPE!

As my friend Fuji mentioned in the streets during his speech some hours ago, thugs and gangsters make up a majority of the population in this new world order. We thugs and gangsters soon become your Goombas and WiseGuys, who in turn will become the honored few in your family. While some may be content with the blind leading the blind, many people here are intelligent enough to want to know why their families, friends, allies and enemies died.

"We had our reasons," the leader continued. "That should be good enough for you."

You would think that but NOPE! After the removal of the former heads of Chicago and New York, the current crop of leaders already set their own standard. We lost two Godfathers weeks ago and were given not one, not two, but five different speeches with mentions from different leaders as to why they were involved in the war.

Well of course. We now have a crop of leaders who placed a heavy emphasis on street activity. On transparency. On working together harmoniously toward the benefit of our world. The last thing we want is the stagnancy that went rampant with those goddamned tyrants in charge. And yet, a little more than two weeks later we see a war that tears apart our world more than the removal of those former Godfathers without a peep.

"You can shut up, you bitter boy," the leader states. "We don't owe an explanation. The people that needed to know were told why."

NOPE! You can shut up, Mister Leader Man. Because I highly doubt that you told everyone that needs to know. Who needs to know? The people within the families that died. The people who were honored men and women. People who were the rank of Made Man and above.

This past war, marked at the beginning with Canucklehead's death and marked at the ending with Jade's death, showed...

31 dead Made Men.
39 dead Capos.
22 dead Bosses.
13 dead Consiglieres.
6 dead Dons.
4 dead Godfathers.
19 dead Leaders in total.

Did I happen to mention again this was only during the war? This does not include those of rank under Made Man. This does not include the clean-up after the war where people of rank are continuing to die. This also does not include the families and leaders and members that died after the tyrants were taken out, and before this most recent war. Have you informed all of these mobster's next of kin yet as to why they died?

I suppose with everyone jockeying for position to become the best of the best, people will continue to die as leaders attempt to seize power. And the general populous will continue to receive less and less information.

When will this end, I ask?

The young boy in front raises his hand again. "You're a stupid thug. This new era will bring plenty of happiness."

NOPE!

Well... perhaps. But how are we to know? The old era was full of people who were kept at an arm's length from the leaders and their whims and fancies. In order for the world to be happy, the leaders need to keep the people happy. If not, the barbarian hordes will continue to form and continue to eat away at those on top. Keeping yourselves on pedestals away from us, the people, will only serve to make us resent you.

The way to start? Give us a reason! Give us a reason for why those close to our hearts have died. All the general population can see is that people have died. We do not know what for.

Yet you all seem incapable to give us five minutes of your time. You would rather hide. Or argue with thugs in the streets. Or mob mail threats to people who speak up in this new generation of free speech.

"There is plenty of speech in the streets," the leader hisses venomously.

NOPE! OK well I will give you that one. Not the speeches we want to see. If I wanted to watch our leaders argue with thugs I would be in a different world. Perhaps "DebateYourAssOffReturns". What we want here, in "MafiaReturns" is leadership. People in bold showing us the ropes. Teaching us how to live this life. Proving why they're the head of their respective mob units. All I see currently is a bunch of scared people hiding away from the aftermath of the chaos. You know, maybe if our current leaders weren't too busy seeing Roman's ghost everywhere, they might indulge us with a war speech. The time for seeing monsters under our bed is over ladies and gentlemen. Time to grow up, saddle up and face your responsibilities.

The young boy opens his mouth and then closes it. He glances at his leader with a raised eyebrow. Chuck nods in affirmation.

The remaining question is, will any of the leaders now have the balls to stand up and give a reason for this 'reset' of our world?

Chances are... NOPE. It will be just me, Chuck Testa. Looking for answers.

Things aren't as mundane and 'safe' as you'd like. You can't keep up with the changes. Boo Hoo. Go do something or just shut up, your speech means nothing because you have nothing to lose, you haven't put any work in and you probably won't. Your son might and he probably won't be claiming his legacy, which would be so shocking and original. Please, continue to insult leaders rather than getting to know them, I heard that's the best way to make a difference.

YouAreHere, that might be the stupidest thing Ive read since the last Hedo_Rick speach. Chuck has solid points and he didnt insult anyone, just merely pointed out that everyone was quick to speak on their actions two weeks ago, but its been pure silence since the first shots of war a few days ago. Though I highly doubt Chuck will get the answers he's looking for, he's only asked for what most of the mafiaso world is asking amongst themselves in private mails and various coffeeshop gathering spots.

I'm sure it's highly encouraging for everyone in the world knowing that they can come to the streets at any point in their career and be told that what they have to say is meaningless. Now no one will speak in the streets for fear of rejection or death and we'll be back where we were months ago.

I'd like to say I believe in the current crop of leaders but NOPE! If they allow people like you in a Godfather crew nonetheless to reinforce people's fear of the streets I don't have high hopes for them at all. You are their messengers. The people they promote past Made Man are their messengers. You just saved me the time getting to know Alabama, because I know everything about her based off what you just stated.

The reasons may have gone to the graves of those in Chicago, FattyFats. But even those who are far out of touch know that it wasn't just Chicago that took down Chade, one of the strongest Godfathers in our world. And Jade. And Cassi, head of Philly. With all of Chicago's leaders dead, they certainly couldn't be warring from the grave?

NOPE! Other cities were involved and certainly knew the reasoning behind the war. If they didn't, then why did they get involved at all?

I also see you left out the new head of Chicago, JesseJames. Though I agree with you, it would probably be a waste of time to ask. Like you, I'd rather not have his lackeys climb all over my face hissing and screaming "HE'S MY FRIEND PRECIOUUSSSSS" either.

Its funny that you're so quick to bash the new leadership. The only reason I came out here is because I'm tired of all these threads. The new leaders are either bashing defenseless thugs or running and hiding. My apologies, the (insert number here) whiny bitch isn't going to get a response. I've heard people say Alabama doesn't lead and that's bullshit. I've heard people say SuperX is a tyrant and that's bull shit, and now you're questioning the takedown of Roman because you liked that regime so you think the takedown was bull shit. The previous generations have to die for new generations to gain power, it's business. We should all strive to gain as much power and influence as we can rather than holding hands waiting to die by the hands of two men (who I think did a good job and respect) decided someone stepped out of line. Now, see this. Before you go startin' to pull that ancient sayin' of "rank up and do something about it", let's gather around the wagon circle and explain it how it is.

All them leaders decided that they were going to capture the point from those big dogs, that Roman fella had a level four sentry protecting his city. Though, the herd rounded up and charged that bull and his lackeys, and the herd came out on top. I reckon you're following me.

Those frontier leaders explained there that they had to cap that point, due to the fact that the bull was causin' the team to fail. Pretty darn good reason if you ask me.

But with this little round that happened, we're all still left in the dark 'bout who did what, and why. Ain't too much of a trouble to explain why you cleared out half of this here rodeo?

The reason might be that... It's the mafia? It's about Omerta, not justice or playground rules.

Moreover, I don't know if you have searched for some answers, but knocking to two/three doors, people that my father talked me about, I have got all the ones I wanted. You could argue that your father wasn't in this business of ours and thus, didn't know anybody really involved and still alive. But then, you wouldn't be that much involved, would you ?

Anyway, it's quite disturbing to see people requiring answers in the streets. Some people were used to justify their actions to the majority in public places but I don't see why all of them should do so. As long as their family/town is told what they need/want to know... Where is the problem ? Or are you just frustrated for not being told all the little details ?

Never once did I complain that Roman is gone. In fact those closest to me in this world know that is something I have been wishing for and wanting for ages. Never once did I say I 'liked the old regime'. Never once did I say I think the 'take down was bull shit'. I am not crying for generations past. I am not crossing my fingers stupidly and humming to myself and repeating 'this is all a dream, it will be over soon'.

The only thing I am guilty of is reminding the leaders, plenty of whom who have had bolds in their bloodlines past, that the easiest way to fail is to get too comfortable. Weeks ago after Roman and Premeir were removed we saw FIVE speeches explaining involvement. We just saw FOUR Godfathers die, countless other leaders, Dons, Consiglieres all the way down to hundreds of Gangsters. Was anything said?

NOPE!

I didn't set these standards for the leaders. The leaders set these standards for themselves. I am not criticizing anyone in particular, I am criticizing them as a whole. After the removal of the previous regime, which again I am not upset about, there were transcripts of coffee shop conversations in which many of the leaders STILL ALIVE TODAY were promising an influx of street activity. An influx of honesty and integrity. And less bullying. I see you missed those minutes. Try to find a copy.

You're right though. I'm not thinking of things from the perspective of the leaders. Because they are WRONG. Whatever their perspective IS currently, it is not what it should BE. Right now, as a leader, the last thing you want is for hordes of thugs to start latching their claws into hordes of other thugs and getting an uproar started. You want to step out in front of the bad press. The second something happens you, or someone of your choosing, needs to be in the streets making sure that the world knows why YOU, the leader, are not wrong and did what was best for the world. Otherwise people won't give a dessert about you.

If our current crop of leaders at this point in our society, haven't figured out yet that how they are perceived by the public is much more important than how they and their friends perceive them to be, then yes. We're in for a sloppy regime.

I would love to entertain whatever dribble you are spouting right now, FattyFats, but all you are achieving at this moment in time is in looking like a stuffed owl. Ridiculous. Shouting about inside jokes among the upper structure of our world might gain you some kudos and high fives in the HQ and coffee shops, but to the rest of the world that still want to legitimately know what happened during the war it is only further reinforcing the fact that the upper structure of our world does not care. Continue to separate yourself further. It's only yourself you're hurting. Not all past empires were abolished by those with the biggest guns.

Though, unless they want to be taken for some ski-mask, they'd at least explain something to the folk. I am not frustrated by not knowing all the little details. I don't need to know who shot whom. Who was protected by who. How many bodyguards anyone lost. Those are the details that are meant for those who were on the front lines of both sides.

However the fact remains that, weeks after it was announced the world would be running in a completely different way, we're RIGHT back where we started. After all, isn't this what people were upset about in Roman and Premeir? They constantly made decisions that affected the entire world and never bothered to explain why. It made them appear to be rash and out of control. We PERCEIVED them to be rash and out of control. So we removed them... see where I'm going with this?

When all is said and done, the history of this world has proven time and time again that they will always fight for survival on the side that offers the happier, more cohesive perception. One day there will come a time when the leaders of this world are tested by one another. I know I will always stand by those that worked WITH the mafiosi... not against them.

Omerta in it's basic definition means a 'code of silence'. Taking it a step further, it can actually be presented to imply 'the categorical prohibition of cooperation with state authorities or reliance on its services, even when one has been victim of a crime'. We keep silence against those OUTSIDE of the business. Not those within. I was not informed as to why my Father died. There was no notes left, no whispers passed along. My 'whining' may be embarrassing, but I only have myself on the line. I agree with the laborer. Now, nobody has to justify their actions to me or anyone else, but I am expressing my confusion over these recent events as well, as my father was Made recently before this latest war broke out.  Granted, he was the first of my line and thus did not have much experience to pass on to me, but I do not feel it is too much to request a short version of the story.  I understand the current leaders may be settling down and may not have time or inclination to give a grand "public statement", but I'm sure those not "in the know" would like to see something small, if only to calm inquiring minds.

Engineer whips around, setting his gaze upon the sentry. His eyes dart about, his hands gripping tightly upon the metal wrench that could construct gear beyond imagination. He rushes over to the device, randomly swinging his tool about to check for any pesky spies that might be creepin' about. He proceeds to beat and smack the sentry once he reached it, going at it as if the wrench was a baseball bat. Soon enough, the entire gun transforms. It expands upward to produce twin barrels that act like arms, lines of fuel and ammo connect to the center piece where everything was stored up. A bright light signals at the top of the core to show that it was operational. A faint beep occurs, and the top half spins about in a sweeping motion, scanning the area for anything dressed in blue. A few poor civilians and bums are filled with lead as the gun snaps its attention to them, blowing them away in a hail of bullets. Engineer flashes a thumbs up to Specs.
