| The Recent Deaths in Las Vegas | Started by: ManicStreetPreacher on Nov 17, '11 16:24 |

The minutiae of the killings in Vegas doesn’t interest me. That’s not true, they do interest me but have little bearing on what I am about to say. Not for the first time, I am choosing to ignore a self evident truth for expediency.
Las Vegas needs a little help getting off the ground – just for a little while. The families aren’t getting time to ‘bed in’ before the guns come out and coffins are filled.
“Well, ManicStreetPreacher, what should we do about it?”
Good question. I will discuss this will you. a unity candidate should enter Las Vegas – someone on good terms with all of the Godfathers. Someone with Street presence. Someone connected with a bit of managerial experience. This person should report to the Godfathers and chair a Daytona style negotiation, the results of which will be a treaty ratified by the Godfather Council and adhered to.
“What then, Manic StreetPreacher?”
Well, once the treaty is ratified, the terms of the agreement have to be kept – I would expect it to include a ceasefire that needs to be respected.
“Is roller-skating a masculine pass-time, ManicStreetPreacher?”
Good question, but please discuss it elsewhere.
LAS VEGAS – DO WE NEED TO RE-WRITE THE RULES? |

Why would we? Everyone who goes in knows what is at stake. They choose to put their lives on the line for a shot at glory. If outside interference is given then the experiment is already over. Hopefully this time someone who is quality will win out instead of a kuklinski, but we can only watch and wait. |

The recent deaths in Las Vegas should be an example to anyone looking to set-up there. Without the proper ability to defend yourself you stand little or no chance. Wuth that in mind the advice to anyone looking to move there is clear; do so at your own peril and make sure you're strong enough. Anyone can move to Vegas but it takes someone strong to stay there. |

This is the thing though, Thor - at the moment, it's a bullet-fest. There needs to be a bit of stability. |

Paranoia is all it is. If people could stay calm and communicate maybe they would get somewhere. It will continue like this for the next month or so, until someone with the ability and take the city by the horns, so to speak. |

So essentially, to remove the element of why Las Vegas is an open city to begin with? People are going to Vegas to truly display they have what it takes. We'e seen aggressive approaches, defensive approaches, diplomatic approaches, you get the idea.
1) Stay in your city, work hard in relative safety and hope the senior figures notice you and afford you a shot at the big time
2) Move to Vegas, thrust yourself into the limelight and propel yourself into the bigtime through good connections and contacts, a formidable gun, or simply through force of character; significantly more dangerous than staying at 'home' with your original Leader.

Yeah its even worse when outer cities seem to shoot at the crew leaders in Vegas too. Try killing off the competition clearly isn't the way to go. |

This almost looks a criticism of your own city Mr. Palmero. The biggest profile case of 'outer cities' shooting at those in LV was the Philly takedown of Caveman and BabaORiley; however, it looks as though you're insinuating that by killing off competition within Vegas earns you the ire of outside cities. Or have I misread? |

The best part is this entire speech is a power grab by the original speaker. He has already made plans to set up and seems to want to be the representative. I'm curious to see how this plays out when he's already grasping at straws. |

But he isn't wrong. There is a lack of communication in Las Vegas (so it doesn't surprise me with the deaths) and there is one man's paranoia. I imagine the paranoia must eat at him. |

Actually Catera there isn't the lack of communication. It's the lack of trust. |

I must be misinformed, I thought it was the lack of intelligence. |

This is the perfect embodiment of the world in which we live.
Really, no GF should have a claim over an empty city. If they do, then perhaps they might want to up sticks and move but they don't. It's great that this "experiment" is ongoing but I don't think there's any need for external influence.
Most cities are made up of a head and people that he/she trusts beneath. Perhaps (and this is only a suggestion) it needs to be two or three people who trust each other to move there and introduce a semblance of order rather than random people trying to go it alone.
I dunno...I'm only saying. |

You can't trust someone you barely talk to or barely know. Although I suppose you can pretend to. So yes lack of communication also breeds a lack of trust. |

It's a failure to communicate. What's needed is a verbose person, accustomed to speaking in public. |

By 'that', I assume you mean I'm correct in my guess that Vegas Leaders klling Vegas leaders earns the ire of outside cities? If I'm correct in 'that', it would therefore logically follow that the deaths of Utopia and Mr. Rothstein were contributing factors in the Philly takedown? I hope I'm not putting words into your mouth here, but I'm just going from one logical conclusion to the next based on what you're telling me.
Erm, because every outside city was part of the GF council that declared Las Vegas to be a city free of outside influence.
Anyone who isn't paranoid in that situation is a fool. It pays to be suspicious (but never overly so). In a city where it is each man for himself, and survival is only down to personal power and your wits, of course there is going to be paranoia. Having a total lack of it will result in swift death, as we can see from the multitude of corpses littering the streets.

I think its fine the way it is too be honest why cant they all come to an agreement themselves? they know the script in Vegas if the don't like it they are in the wrong city.
It's not like they missed the fine print or anything its no surprise really, we all knew this would happen |
