Th reference rule has been an utter failure. The sooner the bosses admit this, scrap it and start taking full responsibility for their families and which members get promoted, the better. Won't happen while certain bloodlines are in positions of power though. To do so would be an admission that not every idea that is formulated is a blinder. Abdication of responsibility - look it up. |

How has it been a utter failure you cretin? The appearance of rogues in these streets has dropped to virtually non existent. They usually pop up when a leader dies and they think they can make something of themselves. At this point they die along with their friends. I know of people who have not gone rogue because their friends within the mob would have died. How is this a failure? As long as I am alive this reference system will stay in place and I will enforce it completely. As for not taking responsibility over who gets promoted to Made Man within my family. You will not be promoted, references or no references, unless I think you have earnt the right to be a trusted member and will honour the commitment you make to me. |

I have noticed that when member's references die we are asked to have them provide new references. If this is the case then the rogue should still have three references. I'm not going to get brownie points for this but maybe someone's family isn't being monitored as effectively as all the others. Just something to think about. |

References are useless if you don't apply logic and consider who is this person and what do they stand for. That is part of the process, leaders are supposed to show due dilligence and take references as a minimum standard, not an absolute definition. I can only presume you are therefore taking about yourself wolfman as I see a dead consig by the hands of your disgraced member who was ill informedly promoted. |

| Am I by myself with the belief that it's a moot point? Whether or not all references are being killed as per law, we are criminals for one, and the enforcers are our leaders for another. Therefor, they change laws as often as they feel the desire. So arguing about leaders actions is quite illogical to me. | |

I'll happily talk to you about it. If someone offers me a better system then i'll happily enforce that. If you give me reasons why you think it doesn't work and offer some ideas as to what it could be replaced by. When you start coming out and attacking leaders over what they enforce and what they say, you will die. |

As always EL, it comes down to who made the reference, who it was made for, and if they are in the 'Circle of Bum Love.' Just like shooting an unsponsered after a war, or killing someone under 48 hours. If you are in the Circle of Bum Love, it will be swept under the carpet, if you are not in the Circle of Bum Love, then it is an excuse for someone within the Circle of Bum Love to kill you.
