| When was the last war? | Started by: Heathro on May 16, '24 11:35 |

Genuinely just looking for some insight into when the last war broke out and was it long and or significant? Hopefully I don't jinx myself with this question (plz let me grow old) but I have only just recently come back after a fair amount of time away and everything seems very peaceful (which is good). I know it's generally just more calculated takedowns nowadays, but it feels like only yesterday there would be wars go on for days on end and that shit made me anxious and excited as hell wondering If I went to sleep to early would I even still be alive come morning. Hard to keep track of things when you've been absent! |

Like you, I've been away for a few years. So the last war I remember was in the summer of 2022. But I'm sure there's been more since then |

That was the last actual site-wide war. Now it's just been takedowns and rogues since then. |

Competition has died down a bit and everyone hold hands now. Even the last 2 regime changes were handed over rather than taken. |

Acting like purging is a genius, unique tactic. Yawn. |

KW and his ilk don’t like when they’re put under the microscope. Judgement (JTG, aka DangerClose) explained their modus operandi best, however: -
https://mafiareturns.com/comm/thread/995373/page2 Kill from the cot anything that could be perceived as a threat at any point in the future. That’s how you assholes operate, right KW (@AlBundy). Dick. |

That may be true for this new age, Al-Bundy, but I wouldn't hold those who plan takedowns in the same regard as I do the war generals of the old. Wars are messy and time consuming; nobody wants that. If anything, takedowns are a preventive measure to avoid war. I've even led a successful takedown and have never thought to pad my record with it. Honestly, the opposite of what you said feels more accurate. A takedown becomes a war when it isn't well planned. And to be able to turn the tides of a losing war... now that's the stuff of legends. |

I'm interested to know who managed to do that and what actually happened. As i'm here for only 3 years idk much of what happened before. The time i remember something worth mentioning is when the regime tried to remove a city, but Tyki_Mikk 's great grandfather Garou was able to dodge all the bullets and kept getting protection for 3 days. They were so tired, that they decided, over a diplomatic meeting, to lay down their guns and shake hands. An amazing feat. |

You say wars are messy and time consuming? Yes, and that's absolutely the point, I don't expect to last a whole 365+ days on here smooth sailing and just hoping that my CL hasn't pissed anybody off enough to warrant a take down.
No matter what each individual will play the game how they like and that won't change but I'm glad I had some opinions and responses to this thread! |

I believe that’s what Bryson is saying, Heathro; that a takedown is not a war, and it’s an insult to anyone who is able to actually war to include it in your resume. A takedown is the soft option. Being able to diplomatically sit on two sides of a fence and conduct business one day, then launch a counter to an attack and come out successful the next day is the kind of war we all remember. Nobody brags about being an expert at killing people whilst they sleep… that’s kinda pathetic. Yet it’s what KW is out here alluding to. He’s kinda dopey though. Don’t be like KW. |

Or you can literally just bitch and moan staying a 5 unit gangster for months and smirk when someone simply is just bored and kills you for a -1 on theur gun tally. Like heathro says, we all enjoy the game in our own way. Personally i have been in all kind of places, gfc, purged for doing nothing but be active on the game, be ia coz i got no time to play. It's up and down depending if people you like are in a position where you can live a long or not so long life. Still bitching and moaning is justvannoying in any form or fashion. Perhaps if any helpful comments could arise i might even consider them... |

Effective though, since you’re out here responding to me trolling your simple ass. Like you say, killing me negatively affects your gun stat and gives you heat, so you’re not the one pulling the trigger. You’re delegating negative consequences to your own team because I’m annoying. You’re depleting your own teams wack stat to cause me a very minor inconvenience, whilst incentivising me to continue. You’re just a bit dopey. |

The game is what it is. I've been lucky to be involved in plenty in the short space of time I have been playing, it's my time to get purged or whatever. I can't moan too much when the first 18 months of playing I have been involved in more than enough of the takedowns and reaching GFC. Nothing I do or say is personal it's all a bit of fun. The best players on here are either in the mix with guns and in 'control' or getting fisted from behind because of who they are, who they are with or what they've done in the past. The best players are not in between, those that tick along are needed to keep the game going. It would be pretty cool if we got to a stage where a date was agreed and we had a full blown war (slightly selfish so I can get involved) where each city gets there own pros etc and plans it properly against other cities and see who stands last. No killing can happen before this particular date. for example 01/01/2025 a big war commences but for the 3/4/5 months beforehand people can build as they want without any worry (Izzy turns wack off against other players) Plenty of good players aren't playing and I think this idea would bring a few back, get main going again, crew chats, rats would be more active and fun and an email being sent out to past members, could set it up as some sort of competition with prizes too... anyway just an idea but I know people at the very top get bored and the best part about this game is building! Make it happen :D |

The last decent war was two years ago. It was epic hands down. Well planned and executed. Sadly, some of them are not around. And that was the first decent wars in a good while. Currently people got issues. They like to purge. They fear dying. They cannot think for themselves. They have many personal side bets going on. And their puppets are clueless. And if they die, they will return to the upper echelon. It does not get any more fucking boring than the current cowards running this shit show. This is not belly aching. This is straight up facts. Numbers do not lie. |

The last "real war" I recall was last year in June, which went on for over 24 hours (at least 29 hours according to my first and last shot during it). I can't remember all the details or how long it went on for exactly, but I would definitely say it fit the criteria for 'war'. Also I'm going to disagree with a statement made earlier - "A takedown becomes a war when it isn't well planned" - this is untrue. A takedown is only a takedown if you have enough guns to hit every target in one go AND you get lucky with nobody wacking back or force failing. Sometimes it doesn't matter how well you plan something, it can and will go wrong. And sometimes you have to move before you have the numbers to pull off a clean sweep, giving the opposition a chance to react and turn it into an all out war. |

You make it sound as if there's some kind of announcer shouting "PENTAKILL" after you've hit the multi-kill count seamlessly. And I get it. The meme makes total sense when you view it like that. Although I think you'll agree that there's a need to categorize these things, as you yourself are referring to the event last June as the last "real war." I'd rather differentiate between takedown and war. |

Well yeah, of course there's a difference between the two. Never said there wasn't? Not sure what you've read that makes you think I did say that. I just disagreed with someone saying a war only happens when a takedown is poorly planned. |

I thought you were defending the meme. You took the statement I made in response to it out of context. I also never said "only." I'm not a Sith. Obviously, there are many factors that lead to war. Just wait for the aftermath speech... And I'm the "someone" you're disagreeing with. Keep up my guy!!! |
