This question is aimed at UK based MR players who regularly access their account via a mobile phone.

My mobile phone contract is very nearly due for renewal and whilst I have managed to access MR on my current phone it was a total waste of time. In fact, when I logged back in on my pc I spent more time apologising for not replying to my earlier mails than I gained by using it at all.

Data Allowance per month will be an issue I guess, although during working hours I certainly won't be doing anything but my employers business. Where I work the wifi is locked down anyway so there's no temptation there...

So I guess what I'm asking advice on is how much Data Allowance should I go for, I doubt if I'll need a great deal. I don't do facebook etc.

And what type of android phone do people find best? HTC, i-Phone 3, i-phone 4, 8MB?

I use a Samsing Galaxy S. It works fine. Use Mafia Mobile on the main page as drop downs dont work. Remember some links that arent there to type in manually. I have 500mb a month but vodafone only charge £5 for 500 more if i go over. Which i rarely do.

Just out of interest, are the drop down and WYSIWYG issues unique to the type of phone or is that something that happens anyway when logging via mobiles?

Drop downs not worked on any phone. Forums just on this. Im going Iphone next tho.

ive got a droid pro and my browser is fully functional just like im playing MR on my pc. i cant attest to data usage, i have unlimted data each month

I use a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 or something like that - it's a damn good phone. As for my internet allowance, it's either 500MB or 1GB; either way I never go over it and I play MR on my phone while at college frequently.

As for the drop downs, they work on my phone. As mine has no buttons (full touchscreen), all I have to do is press on the dropdown and hold my finger there until the dropdown appears then drag my finger away. I don't know if that would work on other people's phones but might be worth a try!

I have an iPhone, although not from the UK so I can't speak to the packages too much, only the phone. iPhone works just like a regular computer when logging into MR, all drop down menus work and I have not had to use the mobile site at all. Only thing I can found I cannot do on the iPhone is manipulate the crew page menu, things like promotions or giving guns. Everything else is exactly the same as when I'm on a computer. I regularly post without the WYSIWYG editor so I am not sure how it works on iPhone.

On my BB Bold I have 500mb data allowance. I have not gone over this in 2 years. Maybe its because when I use the phone it is jsut to drug run, so only logging on every 2 hours to fly and sell. I never see the point in doing anything else. Only time I will be on the phone is at work/out of my flat, which means Im working so don't have time to petty, or out socialising, and I can not stand people in the pub who then sit on the phone for hours rather then communicating. So my 500mb a month is more then enough.

Drop downs work for me. I have an LG Optimus 3d 4g and use Dolphin as my browser. Just press on the menu until it drops down and you have the option to open in a new tab (along with other stuff) press your little back button and the menu will stay open for you to use.

Here is an even greater idea, how about like facebook and other sites as they have made a mobile version that is far easier to use and does not rape your online data usage. Just throwing that out there

My iphone works pretty much perfectly for me, but as Jim said turn off WYSIWYG , the screen size is a bit annoying as it loads the whole screen but well that's easy got round.

As for data allowance, I'm with 3, pay 30 quid a month and have unlimited usage which equates to a gig a month for their fair usage policy. That being said, I use MR, facebook and a whole host of other news and chat apps that use 3g and I have never gone over my allowance.

I'm fairly sure that anything between 500Mb & 1Gb Data allowance should suit me and although the iphone seems to be the Bee's knees, so to speak, I guess many of the newer Android phones will do the job nicely.

I have the Driod X and I play one my phone allllll day. The drop downs work just like Deadlysins said but I can't post in any threads because it only gives the WYSIWYG option and that doesn't work. Looking at my data usage i've used .621 GB and i'm only 10 days into my cycle. But thats with serious phone usage. I'm talking a minimum of 8 hours a day playing on my phone, along with watching a little NFL network. Thank god i'm grandfathered in for unlimited data

I play reguarly from my mobile phone while travelling. I use an HTC Desire and have a 500mb allowance and ive never even exceeded 100mb.
