Lucy's Motorworks Started by: Lucy on Jan 08, '25 11:21

When Lucy arrived in motor city, she was surprised to see that it was lacking mechanic shops. She didn't know much about it but she knew that Detroit was famous for its cars. Nevertheless, after being discharged from the hospital, she decided to open one of her own mechanic shop. She would call it Lucy's Motorworks. Back in the old country, she used to secretly hang out with greasers, so she knew a thing or two. But she also knew that a regular mechanic shop just wouldn't cut it. She had to stand out. So, she decided to include some more services other than changing tires and fixing busted engines.

These "special services" as she called them were as follows:
- Want a car gone? And by gone I mean removed from the face of the earth. You could talk to Lucy and she'd get rid of it along with anything (or anyone) inside, no questions asked.
- Want to change a license plate? No problem. Either because you just want a custom license plate or someone is after you, Lucy's got you covered.
- Want a remotely controlled car bomb
? Although it would be the most expensive service, Lucy could hook you up. For a small fee, she could also plant it for you.
- Last but not least, brake modification. Want the breaks to be weaker or not work at all? She's got your back.

She could see the potential of this business. However, she had to be very careful. These special services would only be available for the people she knew. Although, if one was to bring proof that a guy she knew sent them, she would trust them.

After a few days of getting the equipment ready and hiring a couple of mechanics, she was in business.

"Danny! How are you? It's been a while."

"Sure no problem Dan. I'll take care of it."

Lucy goes in the back to fetch 2 license plates and quickly gets to work. She removes the old one and dumps it in a box, then carefully sticks the new one in. She repeats the process for the front of the car.

"Don't worry. I guarantee you that box will never see the light of day." Lucy said.

Lucy sealed the box with the old license plates and put it under the counter for now.

"Ralph!" She called.

A fat man with a french mustache and mechanic clothing showed up from the staff room.

"See if you can tune this up a notch."

Ralph opens the hood and starts to look into the engine.

"One more thing Dan." Lucy said.

She began writing down an address on a piece of paper and gives it to Danny. Then she began to whisper:

"This here is a great forger. He can fix your papers with your brand new license plate if you want. Tell him I sent you. He won't charge you extra, I have that covered already."

She was then interrupted by Ralph.

"We can do more than just a notch boss. Should we go for heavy tuning?"

Lucy turns over to Danny again.

"Should we? It's your call." she asked.

A loud Shrieking sounds reach the ears of those present in Lucys motorworks. Around the corner swerves a large buick, the car is riddled with holes and theres some smoke appearing from the hood. The car appears to be full of people.

The car comes to an abrupt halt inside the motorwork compounds. And out storms a tall lighthaired mobster, he Shouts out

Lucy, LUCY  we need your service NOW

He then looks impatiently around, while 3 other motor city mobsters stumbles out of the car. One of them is bleeding from his left shoulder. Sonny spots it and says to the two others. Get that wound dressed and then the three of you scram from here and lay low a while untill that wound is better.

He then gazes around for Lucy again.

Sonny spots Tommy roll up and goes over to talk to him.

Hey Tommy_Vitale might not be the best time youve come by. some of the motor mobsters and i had a shotout earlier and i just arrived to have this car crushed. Gotta rid of the evidence right.

Sonny pointed to the Buick he had arrived with which now had black smoke coming up from the hood.

She sadly took some hit so she gotta go. One of my boys got wounded too, nothing serious luckily. Now if only Lucy would show up.

Tommy looks over at the Buick, smoke rising from the engine block, definitely needed it go.

"Glad ya guys made it outta there in one piece though."

Tommy shakes a cigarette loose from his pack and sparks it up. "I'll probably come back by, looks like Lucy's hands are full at the moment"

Lucy sat in her office and looked at a bunch of papers.

"What is this taxation bullshit. This is so fucking boring." she complained.

Then she heard a voice calling out to her.

"Lucy, LUCY  we need your service NOW"

She got her ass off the chair and made her way out fer her office and to the reception.

"I'm here, I'm here."

She sees Sonny looking for her and in distress.

"Sonny! What's going on? What's all the fuss about?"

Carlo was cruising on the highway in his lincoln continental, enjoying the scenery of Detroit. He was on his way to assist with some important family business. As he merged onto the off ramp, a stream of smoke erupted from under the hood. The smell of burning oil filled the cabin. Carlo began to curse under his breath, gripping the wheel tighter as he steered the car off the road. Luckily, Luck'y Mechanic was in the same parking lot. The car slowly came to a halt, and Carlo killed the engine. He leaned over, grabbing his briefcase from the passenger seat. Stepping out of the car, he adjusts his hat while the smoke blows behind him.

Inside, the shop was busy. You heard the sound of the tools clinking and the humming from the machinery in the garage. Carlo took a minute to look around at the special services that were being displayed and took a brochure. While carlo was waiting at the counter he glanced down at the brochure, his eyebrow furrowed as scanned the details of a special service called remote controlled car bomb.

Report Post Tip

Lucy sees Carlo at the reception and looks at Sonny.

"Hold on Sonny. This guy looks important."

Lucy rushes over at the reception and greets Carlo with a smile.

"Hello sir! Welcome to Lucy's motorworks. I am Lucy. Lucky you caught me I was just about to leave for a bit."

Lucy spots the brochure Carlo was holding. She gently takes it off his hand.

"Oh my god. I thought I burned every last one of these after realizing that promoting these services was a bad idea... Ah. Forgive me for being so rude. If you are a cop, then I guess this is the part where you read me my rights... But if not... Then I guess it's your lucky day." she said, hoping Carlo was not a cop.

Of course, she didn't know him. However, since he already knows about these services, not offering them would be pointless.

"So what will it be? Do you have a car I can fix... Or break... Or rig? I am at your service. My hands are full at the moment but I'll be happy to serve you in about an hour."

Report Post Tip

Carlo chuckled softly as he leaned casually on the counter, tipping his fedora as he spoke

"Well, Lucy, I ain't a cop, so you can relax. Lucky for both of us, huh?" His voice was calm but carried a weight that hinted at an unspoken experience. Carlo glanced at the now hidden brochure and smirked. "I'll admit, your special services caught my eye, but for now, let's keep it simple. My car's coughing up smoke and burning oil, would you be able to get her running smoothly again. We will talk about the extras later."

"Please take your time. I have a car on the way to pick me up as I have some business to attend to. I should be back in about 2 hours" Carlo said while he handed Luck'y the keys.

Report Post Tip

Lucy let out a sigh of relief.

"Phew... Yeah 2 hours should be fine."

Lucy takes the car keys and goes outside, she then drives Carlo's car inside the garage.

"Hey Ralph. Take a look at this one. I got somewhere to be." she said as she went back to Sonny.

"What's it gonna be Sonny?" she asked.

Carlo stepped out of the sleek black sedan that had dropped him off as he approached Lucy’s Motorworks. The scent of oil and grease hung heavy in the air, mingling with the faint aroma of gasoline.

His earlier meeting had gone as expected, tense, precise, and fruitful. It was time to see if Lucy had made good on her promise.

Pushing open the glass door, Carlo stepped inside. The faint jingle of a bell announced his arrival. he scanned the garage, quickly landing on Lucy, who was hunched over the open hood of another car, her hands smudged with grease.

“Lucy,” Carlo called out, “I’m back. Tell me, how’s my Lincoln holding up? Did you work your magic, or am I walking home tonight?”
