The term "Tyrant" is bandied about wily nily on these Streets.  There was a time when there was hot debate about whether it was actually an apt term or not.

Some time ago, Philly was led by ScipitaRourke, a Godmother or rare ability.  Scipita was probably the first head of a city to have to contend with a concerted underground campaign against her and her city.  It was quite relentless.  The hallmarks of this campaign included an element of armed actions and a larger degree of publicity and psych-ops.  This was a strategy that was later employed by various groups, including the "Unknown Assailants" and "The Plumbers".

TGFTB was the offspring of a MadeMan shot head by Scipita who had managed to discover whose bloodline he was without resporting to "voodoo" tactics.  TGFTB was angry, very angry.  He took to the Streets, not to insult Scipita, but to pay tribute to her.  She was the most powerful mobster at that time.

Not for the first time, TGFTB's words were twisted - he was accused of calling Scipita a "Tyrant"; not so. 

So, friends, do we have Tyrants?  Or do we have envy?

Why is it we have so many people asking the same question about Tyrants lately? This word is just being jumped on by everyone it seems. There are no tyrants currently, there have been in the past. Lets focus on now and the future, leave the past where it should remain.

She was nowhere near the most powerful Mafioso of her time, Deimne was. This was proved shortly after this speech as Philly went to war against New York and got annihilated.

I think to call anyone alive at the moment a tyrant would be to give them more credit than they deserve. They have neither the skill or respect to get such a title. It takes alot more than a few take downs of small un-developed family's to earn such a title.

ScipitaRourke, correct me if I'm wrong, went to war with Las Vegas in the form of Lucretia_Borgia if I remember rightly? I believe it was Scipita, Kates and PoisonousJelly who decided to war Las Vegas and lost.

I think Barnacle was referring to Scipita influencing Lucretia into going to war and not actually being one in the same, although I could be wrong.
