Unpopulated cities | Started by: yobojim on Mar 01, '12 20:46 |
A man stands in the middle of the street. People watch him as they walk by wondering what he is doing. The man takes a deep breath in>
Ladies and gentlemen,
My name is yobojim and I am a member of NO. I have not been around in this game for long but I have noticed something which has interested me. I have ask many people and all of them say the same thing. I have been asking what is going on in the empty cities. The all answer they dont know. I know we were all told about the great plan for these cities and what was going to happen but it seems to me that no action has been taken. The plan was anounced a while ago but still no one seems to know when or how it will be implemented.
Yobo pauses brifely and takes another deep breath. He mops his brow with his hankie.
I am not hear to show disrespect ,I am not hear to be told again just wait and see what happens. I am sick of waiting I want to know what and when will something be done about it. The plan sounds great and I can not see why it has not been put into pratice. I am hear for answers and I hope I get them. I know I am not the only one who feels this way. Thank you for listening.
Yobo had said all he needed to say and he hoped that no one would see this as disrespectfull.

Sir, what you heard was the beginnings of the plan. It was said what will happen, and it was also said that it would not happen over night. Also, I mean no disrespect to you, but who are you to demand answers? A little patience goes a long way. Things are becoming more settled across the entire country, and with the plan that was announced a few weeks ago. Sit back, wait, and enjoy the show. That is the answer that you are going to get. |

walking out with a black lace cape covering her yellow silk dress with flowers, she looks at yobojim.
It's always nice to know whats going on and when, unfortunately we live in a world where a rushed decision can cost lives and every plan has to be carefully thought out planned and the right people selected. Unfortunately this is something that generally cant be rushed as seen with past bloodshed in newly set up cities. I am sure the powers that be will anounce a schedule of events when they feel is right, as maybe some are waiting for specific candidates to rank. Frustrating yes, profit cutting yes , out of both of our controls yes.

Even if things were due to happen soon; which I have no idea if they are; it would make no sense for any changes to be implemented at this point. |

What i begin to wonder is how many people are going to the head of the foodchain with a well thought out plan and asking for permission to head to a city with a low mafia presence? How many people ask to set up shop??
True these conversations could take place behind closed doors, but it still seems strange so many people bemoan the empty cities, yet not one has outrightly showed an interest in taking up somewhere. And if these conversations arent taking place behind closed doors surely that mkes the head honchos jobs that much harder in choosing somebody to move into a city. |

Santino hears the discussion on the street and with the subject being one close to his heart he feels compelled to speak.
Recently, Godfather Clarity announced to us all that a meeting had occurred between our City leaders and plans to increase our business had been discussed.
The speech that we heard was an honest appraisal of the current situation. The plan presented was indeed great, it mentioned the population of our empty cities as mentioned.
For such a vision to be fulfilled requires time. Time to agree on which cities are authed by whom and time to find the right leaders to appoint to such a vital task.
I am so glad, personally, that these important tasks have not been allocated to just anyone and that our GFC is waiting upon the right moment and the best conditions to implement these ideas.
It is no sin for someone to address our community because their passion overcomes them, but we must be patient and trust those who bear the burden and responsibility of implementing these ideas. |

Sean, personally I don't believe in showing interest. I would hope my leader would tap me on the shoulder after noticing my hard work for the family and my dedication. |

I think thats where you're wrong though...does everyone want to make it to the top?
i for one have no real ambition to lead
and asking like that would be a slap to the face. But would showing forethought,a reasonable timeframe for your departure as well as some form of renumberation? A promise of allegiance in the case of another city attacking? Plans for the vacant cities buniess district and the opening of a new casino? If somebody did that would it not be possible to impress their CL or City head suitably enough they gave them the shot they wanted.
I dont know, tis' just food for thought nothing more' |

Honestly Mr Dignam, most of the CLs I've worked for over the past year would prefer that you didn't ask for power. It's the same reason why they don't like being asked why someone hasn't been given their button when they have high earnings and the required skillset. Leaders must first show they know how to follow and asking for power is almost never going to impress your leader. There are ways to show your leader you're ready to lead, but that involves actually getting to know your leader, something a good number of people don't seem to understand.
In short: Keep asking a leader for power and you'll never get it. Kick a Scouse's hubcap pile once and his monkeys will never stop following you... |

Popcorn walks over and stands by his family member Yobojim. Not wanting him to feel alone or bad about asking his question.
"Your question is very valid and from knowing you and speaking with you regularly I know you meant no disrespect by this. The anticipation is killing us all, some more than others. I also understand you saying you don't want to be told to just wait and see what happens over and over again.
I don't think any of us could ask for an exact amount of time this is to happen, but I think your need for results could be satisfied by a little update as to whether we are any closer then we were the day it was announced, being that we haven't heard much since. And then to add on to all of it that the Gods do plan on changing the way we live soon.
We all know we can't damand anything from our GF and Family Heads, but at the same time we all know there is nothing wrong with trying to seek answers. If I'm told all plans are back to square one, I'll be fine with that." |

I understand what you are getting at Yobo , nobody wants to see empty cities but City heads are not going to see there hard working member to another city when they have not got a full crew or city themselves. If you give it time hopefully we will see these cities fill and you. |

I imagine that the easiest, most concise answer here is that the powers that be wish for the cities that are in existence to be solid, strong cities before they begin expanding to other territories. |

Mercury walks by yobojim and slips him a note. It reads.
Go take a look at this down the street. It might explain the delay, at least to some degree.

One could always take the bull by the horns and start a family in one of the empty cities by himself of course.
I am not saying that you would live long but it would show some guts on your part.
Go ahead and give it a try sir. |

Not to spend to much time repeating what others said (You tried not to be disrespectful but you demanded answers and showed lack of patience by saying you were sick of waiting and all that) I'll just leave you with a few questions: |
