My first job was in 2023 and I was a silver service waitress in a top hotel. A killer on the feet and seemed like long hours

My first job was bailing hay on a horse and cow farm. Most of that time was spent carrying the hay up into the barn because the loader had broke at said farm and they werent able to fix it that summer. I made 10$ an hour, was the most brutal work I ever did, and I think fondly of it all the time. 

My first job was a cashier at a grocery store and for then on I realize I hated the industry. Give them chairs!

My first job was cleaning and setting up for Weddings at a local amusement park. It was pretty fun and mostly a summer job, so that was also nice.

I still remember my first job like it was yesterday.

Nothing fancy. Just a quiet corner, a locked door, and a man who owed the wrong people way too much.

They handed me a crowbar and said, “Make sure he remembers who runs this block.”

I got paid $20 to collect a $200 debt.

Didn’t ask questions. Just knocked.

From that moment on, I realized—this life doesn’t reward questions. It rewards results.

And I delivered.

Warehouse work, three shifts. Terrible experience for a 18 years old.

I started a few summer jobs when I was too young to actually get a real job - under the table, paid in cash, farm jobs. Bailing hay and picking corn. Both brutal jobs. 10$ when you are 12 is great money though. MY first real job was washing floors at a vet clinic. easy but boring. 

So this answer can go one of two ways.

Either my first job was working with my dad from the time I was 9 all the way into highschool. He is an electrician, and I would go to jobs with him when I wanted to make some money to buy something. Got paid 6.50/hr too. Not bad for a 9 year old (plus a few years).

OR, my first REAL JOB that wasn't working for my family while too young for labor laws - I was hired on at a ranch the summer of my sophmore year. I'd just turned 16 the early part of the year, and had my license, so I needed to make money to support me going and seeing my girlfriend and taking her out - and everything else a young highschooler could think to do with money at that time in life.

So, Electrician's Helper, or Ranch Hand... One of those would be my first job.

My first job was dish washer in a local restaurant. That put me into hours till midnight at like 13. The restaurant owner knew, but didn't ask anything about parental permissions. It was close and in a small town, so it also didn't really matter. The job was busy, but also not stressful. What I recall most was this co-worker that really seemed like a Donald Duck figure. Not meant as denigrating, but it really was someone who always seemed to have bad luck and ended up washing dishes at the end of the night.

I just did that for a short summer period. Turned out my father was waiting close to the restaurant to safely guide me home every night without me knowing :D

I worked in a bar where my brother was the manager. I was involved in a minor car accident on the evening of a shift and could not get to work that evening. He told me not to come back. A career as a barman down the drain.

My first job, other than washing dishes etc in the summer holidays, was as a trainee accountant.  My next job was as an accountant and i haven't really prgressed from that since then. 

My first job of any kind was cleaning boats but that was when I was really still a kid. First job as an adult was writing human slop for various websites earning very little money when I was at university. 

My first job was a paper route, after school I'd walk around and deliver a bunch of newspapers. It felt like a lot of money when I was like 13-14 years old. Once I was 16 I went and worked at a Wendys... that wasnt nearly as much fun. 

My very first job was a busboy at a pizza restaurant. the free pizza everyday was pretty awesome. it was a wild place to work though. i was constantly hit on by a 21 year old waitress. the owners son was a bartender and constantly doing cocaine in a broom closet. i wound up quitting because the owner was an absolute cunt. never worked in food service again.

My very first job was a sales assistant in retail. It was a bunch of young people - some days it felt like an after school club. 

My first job was lifting glasses in a bar. 9pm - 2am. 5 hours on a friday or saturday night at £2.50 per hour lol
