Time for you the people to come out and tell us what you think... We, the leaders of the six cities, have a predicament. We have an empty city and more people signing up.... But i myself am kind of tired of the plain jane way of authing people.. Its boring, its uninteractive. And i don't really want any more compititions since the last one flopped, congrats to Alessia again by the way. So I am introducing a new method that we will test for New Orleans. Voting. That's right! You want your shot? Get out here and convince the people to vote.. You ever wanted to help choose the next leader, here is your chance for your vote to count... So here are the rules: 1. You must be MadeMan or Above to be able to enter (Obviously) 2. You will post a thread like normal. i.e. Family name, Plans for city etc. 3. The mafiosi will then vote for there choice. They will send in a ballot to their respective leaders and then they will be counted. 4. They voters will have until July 5th, 12:00 MR time to send in their vote. 5. The top five candidates will then be evaluated by me and the other leaders 6. The winner is allowed to set up shop in New Orleans. That is pretty much it.. Obviously the candidates will have to speak with there leaders prior to entering. AND SAME AS BEFORE IF YOU SHOOT OTHER CANDIDATES TO IMPROVE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING YOU WILL BE SHOT! - Jun 29, '08 13:02 You WACKED! Dumont. Don't let that be you! Just one quick question, Sir. Why the hell are we voting for these wannabe Crew Leaders when our votes really don't count. We could vote for Jesus as our number one vote and you could decide to pick Judas, who is in the top 5. I understand that you, the crewleaders, don't want us picking Revan as a new crewleader, but seriously. Why bother having a vote if you guys can just go for your favorite, etc. |

Anon, First of all, when addressing a Don in the streets, I don't think 'Why the hell..' is a good way to come across. Secondly, when there is opportunity to do something new, and try to gain a popular result that attracts and appeases Mafioso, why not try? With the last competition, they tried to have individuals work together for a common goal and come together politically with the city of Chicago being their number one priority. Focusing on building, well we see how that ended. It was something to attempt and something new rather than standard auths. When the hierarchy chooses an auth themselves people always say, "Oh it's because their friends." They are giving the opportunity for everyone with the rank and will to work, to have a shot of their leadership dreams. Everyone asked for a change, this is just another example of just how much the current leaders really want a better place for all. Sadly, there are always those who have to criticize the way things are being handled. We could vote for Jesus as our number one vote and you could decide to pick Judas, who is in the top 5 I really don't think that they are going out of the way to create this new method and test it out, if they weren't planning on doing as they say. Why the hell waste their times? For the cool points? To win over the feelings of other Mafioso's? They are in charge, frankly they could give two shits how we feel. Be grateful that they are giving us Mafioso's the opportunity to lead rather than making the decisions themselves. |

You're a Don. These decisions are yours to make, leaving such a momentous choice in the hands of the plebs is a bad move for obvious reasons. Unless the plebians vote in the majority for your preferred candidate, there is no way you can come out of it to the good. If we back a substandard candidate, you are left with a lacklustre leader, or one you can't trust; you either like it or lump it and be viewed as a hypocrite by the masses. And even worse, the lines are being continually blurred here, sir. Some remarked before me that it is unsuitable to address a Don saying "What the Hell?", but in such a circumstance where we, the unmade mobsters, are being given this level of authority in such a weighty decision; it's no wonder you have people addressing you as equals, arguably as I am now. My vote? Consult other leaders and, if necessary, your inner sanctum, if you feel an auth is necessary. To me, and this is not an insult, it looks as though you're trying to be overly magnanimous and friendly with this lavish gesture. You're a Don though, so we know you're not; that taken into consideration, may as well auth whoever the hell you want. |

Watch your tongue when you speak, if you can't be arsed to listen to the entire speech and instead bitch about this when you are the fucking ones given a chance to choose a motherfuckin leader for once, someone that your ass likes might get authed and your bitchin might stop, even though I doubt it will. I'd rather see the leaders authing someone they want authed rather than this shit, because quite frankly... none of you "plebs" seem to give a shit anyway, the responses here clearly state that, or the lack of responses. So what you're saying is.... you're allowed to insult a Don, as long as you add something constructive to it? Since you took what I said to heart, yes it includes you as well. And I did listen to all you said. What you said was aimed at him personally, NOT at all the leaders, and as he clearly fucking stated; all leaders will be evaluating the top five candidates. Or did you miss that part? Because when you have a go at him for making the fucking speech, make sure to follow everything he fucking says, and you'll understand that it's not just Animal making the decision on who the new auth will be out of the top five candidates. Do you get where I'm going with this? It's simple, stop bitching about him when it's all the leaders who will be making the fucking decision together. Stop aiming your crap at him, just because he made the speech. And show some fucking respect for the ones who lead your asses. And again I ask, are you insulting the Don of Las Vegas and thinking it's okay just because you added something constructive to it? |

Here's what I ask. Find where I insulted him. Not just in this speech. Go anywhere, head down to irc avenue. Have a look at speech manuscripts from any area of our cities and find me a single instance where I, IronMan, have explicitly, or even implicitly insulted any of the Leaders. Oh, I haven't. |

I didn't see anything personal about him. That is irrefutable fact. Of course I spoke directly at him, it was Animal who made the speech, and as such it will him who receives feedback on it. What else would you have me do, mail all the leaders personally addressing the same issue? That would be longed winded and pointless if you ask me. And one final thing I'd like to point out; "Time for you the people to come out and tell us what you think..." I did tell him what I thought, I did it politely and I did it constructively. By telling me to stop aiming my crap at Don Animal, I can only assume you're going against his wishes? If so I'd have to say you're wrong and if you wish to prove me wrong go right ahead. LostPaladin. But remember this, TVJA was no more after the death of Black Fog, even though Anita lead it she changed it completely and I don't see that as TVJA as it was, it was already being transformed to Librizzi before it was renamed. |
