See You SpaceCowboy | Started by: Koyuki on Jun 09, '25 23:32 |
This is incredibly difficult for me to write at this time but as some of you may have heard or maybe you haven't we lost another one. On June 4th Chris Severe was killed in a workplace accident. For those that didn't know his real name may recognize him in game as SpaceCowboy/Insomnia/Batman. Love him or hate him the man was a beast when he played and I'm sure many of you can attest to that fact. He may not have played recently but the time he devoted to this place was immense and he loved it for a long time. Back in 2002 BostonGeorge/RomanReigns introduced Chris and I to .org and we've all played off and on since then and they both had plenty of legendary runs.
He was Rayden/ClassyLady's husband and a great father to young 2 boys. He was also my best friend for almost 3 decades. He will be sorely missed by all of his friends and family for the rest of our lives. I know everyone has their own problems and struggles but if you can spare a thought, prayer or contribute to his family it would mean the world.

This is tragic news, and my heart goes out to everyone who knew Chris—whether in person or through his years in-game. He was a memorable and passionate part of the community whose presence left a mark on many of us. Whether you played alongside him, against him, or just heard the stories, you knew when he was around. Thank you for taking the time to share this during such a difficult moment; it gives us all a chance to reflect, grieve, and remember him in our own way.
Donations to support his family are entirely optional and have no connection to the game or community expectations. If the link isn’t visible in the original post, feel free to reach out to me directly. |

Thank you for coming out and sharing the news with us. We all share a bond here as a community and I know from the bottom of our hearts we all feel this to various levels. Chris was well known and cherished here and I hope his family is able to navigate the best one can in a situation, such as this. Many community members that are not present extend their thoughts and prayers. |

SC was a ton of fun to play this game with whether you were with him or against him. Truly a good sport whether he won or lost and always brought bright light to every situation. An amazing human, a fantastic Father, and a great friend to many it is sad to finally see this post here but I am glad that it is so people can come together and honor the time they had with Chris. I have so much I could say here but I think everybody already knows how big of a loss this is to our world and how irreplaceable of a person he really was. I will keep his family and friends in my prayers and know that he will always be here in spirit. Rest in Peace SC :( |

When I heard the news I was hoping it was some cruel joke. He was always so friendly and kind. I hope his family and friends can find peace. I hope the money we can provide will help ease some of the weight from their shoulders and heart. Rest in peace |

Chris was a good guy I always think back to the days where we would have late night skype calls and the laughs we all had together. A tragic loss and my condolences to his family. Rest in peace old friend. |

Tragic to hear, SC put a lot into the game and was a special personality. It seems every 6 months to a year i see someone has been lost to the community and is always nice to see people who have fine memories of them but always sad to see another go.. |

It is very sad to see another one of our community is gone. SpaceCowboy was a great player and always loyal to the side he was playing with. I think everyone who plays as long as I do and even longer have seen the name or heard about his dedication to play. My last interaction with him was when he asked me to add him on Pokemon Go. It feels strange to his name there now. Rest in peace SpaceCowboy. I wish his family lots of strength to overcome this tragedy. |

A true legend lost. We didn't play together as much as some others, but in a community as small as ours these events hit so hard. My heart goes out to all friends and family. You'll be missed Chris. T |

When I got this tragic news it broke my heart. My heart aches for his children, wife and their loved ones. He was a very kind man. And so young to be taken from us. I had the honor of having many in game talks with him. And he was very good with his game play here. My prayers go out to his family and those in our community who feel the pain of losing him. |

Hurts me to see another friend gone before their time. You'll be missed Cowboy, I hope that you've found peace, you've left a huge hole here, but we'll carry on as best we can. |

This is awful to hear. Although I think many others grew much closer to him over the years than I ever did. He was one of my first friends on here as we were both learning the game. He was always so positive and hyped you up. He helped me get to my first GF character on here. I just can’t believe he is gone. This place definitely lost a beast of a player and a great friend to a bunch of people who sunk hoursss into this place. Rest in peace man. I can’t believe you won’t be around these shores again.

Rest in peace dear heart… We all play this crazy game of life and death again and again but none of us ever plan on writing in that final obit. Space Cowboy… Like many many of you, I have stories and memories of this man. Great times, times I’ve wanted to kick him in his silly butt… but he was always one heck of a player. Loyal to the end to his side and a formidable opponent to the other. You will be very missed… My thoughts and prayers also go out to Rayden and his kiddos…

Oh man. The words have been so hard to find since I found out the news a week ago. I am still in disbelief and filled with hurt. My heart goes out to Rayden and his kids. I met Chris in the early 2000's playing mafia.org. I had left the online mafia life for about 8 years when I joined MR. Imagine my surprise when Chris messaged me asking if I was the same HotIce from .org. we had been quick friends afterwards. Eventually leading us to call each other the silly nicknames of "waifu" and "husbando.". We did have a falling out for a little while, but it wasn't long before we both talked and decided that our friendship was more i.portant than any BS that came from MR. He was one of the few that would reach out to me when I don't play the game. He had just reached out a week prior to his passing, just make sure I was doing okay. Gonna be difficult to come to grips with that being the last time I'll get a "Hey waifu" message. Rest in peace husbando. |

It’s strange how a game friend can affect you. I didn’t know Chris personally. In fact, this is the first time I've known his real name. But I know most of his characters here on MR, and he has always treated them with the utmost respect, even when his hands were tied. As a game friend, you leave me saddened and wishing there were more like you. Rest in Peace, my friend. |

Rest in peace SC. A legend in this game, a miss for our community. The most fun I ever had was with you as head of the city. My best wishes to his family at this trying time. |
