That's wonderful, you preach about standards yet behave the way you have been. Lead by example, treat others how you want to be treated. You can convey your message without being disrespectful and insulting. I have yet to call you a name or refer to you in a derogatory manner while standing my ground.

I figured your boss having a word with you would be more effective than an administrator or HelpDesk admin jailing you or giving you that big ol' DD. You represent your family/crew in all areas of the game, your boss has every right to see how you behave.

Im just adding incase you havent seen there is a war going on and you two could help out besides talking smack on a forum, now Midnight and Corrado im ot saying your not helping the war effort but just stop this baby arguement.

If it is also the opinion of a few others why have they not chimed in as well? You seem to be the only one preaching away about falling standards while being extremely disrespectful to those who do not agree.. You defend yourself by name calling and evasion rather than using facts to back your stance up.

How am I not helping out in this war? I'm doing as I am asked, supporting the effort of those involved. Us having a debate in regards too this topic while a war rages on (PS - It's pretty much over now isn't it? Just waiting for LF to go away for good.) isn't taking away from it... Is it? If so, how is us having this discussion hurting the war effort?

As I read over what I have said to you I see no disrespect. I've been polite, I have not called you names. I have offered another view on the state of affairs in this thing of ours. You have called people names, you have made hateful remarks based on sexual orientation, you have been nothing but disrespectful.

This has been a decent discussion, you're only upset because no one has backed up your views with "old stories". If you don't want to have people discuss things from a point of view that is not the same as yours then do not open yourself up to it. It's that simple.

Just because we don't agree with you and rally around you with tales of yore does not make it right for you to be insulting.

I also have to call bullshit about a couple of your points.

Funerals - Corrado, you brought up this is a role playing game. When you post in a funeral your character is in church. Snide comments like the one you posted don't belong in church. If a guy attempts to wack you in the real world would you go to his funeral at a church and make that comment? I doubt it. If you're the kind of person who would you don't need to preach to us about falling standards.

Families war over nothing and members aren't informed - I know for a fact this is bullshit because after the first wave of the current war the NY leaders (and probably their allies) sent a mass mail to their families. We had the mails ready to send before the shots were even fired. My mail told members in one sentence we are at war and the reason. During the war I sent several more mails, including one about an hour before my character died.

Families don't seem to bond - _Ragnarok_, don't be so quick to point a finger at the leader. As a leader I made it a point every few days to mail members just to say hello and ask how things were going. Most people replied in a positive way and I had a lot of interesting conversations. A few people like you, Corrado, only replied with a couple words and showed no interest in talking. Now you claim families don't bond and communicate. Bonding is a two way street. Next time you don't feel like it's happening enough put some effort into it.

I'm not slandering leaders, I'm merely pointing out the obvious. Dont just jump into the first family that you see. If you're looking for something more, put in some work. Inquire about the potential CL, their hands. Make sure its the style of family. There are many families that bend over backwards to communicate with everyone, but on the flip side there are other CLs who could care less if they ever spoke to anyone outside of their clique ever.

I wont lie I come from a time before most and can say standards have dropped but not all of it is the players fault.  I will admit i had to attempt to join a family as i received none of the usual mails that lead to an invite as previous characters have received(which to me was a bonus). The truth is people want this game to grow but its difficult, I see in the rules an age limit yet i can look round a HQ in introductions and see i am 13, i am 15 and can in some cases lead to maturity issues(sometimes though i can see a 45 year old with less maturity the a 13 year old).  The same problems has existed where members have committed sexual harrassment with no punishment.

Secondly, just because a group take charge does not mean they are good to lead just due to the fact they can overthrow a regime.  Leadership is down to individual as someone who has led and been part of the support structure over 10 years of playing.  The truth of the matter is anyone can click, not everyone can lead; but as they are loyal or friends they can still become leader.  The only way is for players to chage this matter, if people are willing to join a crew if the leader is considered an idiot it is them prolonging that leaders life as their earnings are paying for his bodyguards etc.  This is an age old problem sadly.

Respect, watching how some of the arguments derail in the streets to childhood name calling and people using big words sometimes not knowing what they mean to try and look superior and feel smug often backfire.  Depending on the leader depends how they will deal with it and many just will want to keep members even in a time when many members are available like now.  I know more then 1 character who has made comments at funerals recently and went unpunished even if simply saying they happy someone were dead.  THe truth is some people repeatedly comeback to troll and try to cause probems for others as they are bored, immature or simply dont care as come to the game to do things their way no matter what.

The truth is no matter what some people do they will walk away smellig of roses.  They can bait, attack and break rules and often due to their value their superiors will pay complensation to cover their actions or claim what they have said doesnt break a rule even if it leads to threats being exchanged by others as the threat was not made even if caused by someone.

We have seen the streets only come to life post war a lot and my only hope is the future changes increase the membership, diversity, ideas and motivation to the game.

These things fluctuate over time.  Its really in the hands of the crew leaders and how they chose to enforce their rules and expectations.

I'm new but would like to agree somewhat with you and I would also like to add that this game should be closer to what the Mafia really was. Gangsters only gave respect to higher ranks and stand up guys, not to everyone. I think that should be your choice on how to act in the game, but their should be consequences like in the real Mafia. If you're disrespectful or break rules then you get whats coming to you, period.

This about people not being killed for saying something bad a orbit the reason for that is because now adays any one can get hit. I had a character Slim_Tony that was by far the strong in the game and he even got killed. But they fixed two things that allowed him to be killed. Back in the day it used to be that only a few people that knew that wack answer could kill well. Now that, that has change people don't go around killing people for petty stuff like they used to. For example pick pocketing you used to get killed for that but now everyone know it's kind of dumb to kill someone over a simple pick pocketing. Also the reason bosses go to war over nothing at all, well, that's never change that's always been the way it has been. The reason this had been is because some other guy wants to be on top but what they don't understand is that it takes time and lots of work. In the end the boss that use the gun to gain power will soon fall the same way. And peopl are starting to get that. Now that they know no one is too big to get hit they don't go around killing people for stupid shit like some random guy messaing a capo saying "your momma suck the big one".
