A Question About the Forty Eight Hour Rule Started by: blob5 on Jul 12, '08 09:21
Can somebody please clarify for me the current Family stance\'s on this matter. Preferably the Family head, or one of a high rank within each Family.

Can a person shooting an under forty eight hour gangster call it a mistake and get away with it? If so, why even have the rule?

Not in my family they can't

now myslef i will not authorise anyone to shoot at any under 48 hour gangster and people who do shoot at them from my crew will be dealt with swiftly. To be honest i think all the leaders are the same. no gangster running round can call it a mistake there is no really excuses that i would take for shooting them.
Report Post Tip
Thank you both Alessia and LargeHamster. I\'ll be honest I was hoping for those answers.

Let\'s see whether the other Family heads will come out and offer their input.

Even though I am not an autherised leader I will respond.

My family rules state the killing of under 48's is punishable by death, that being said I would need sufficient proof. Also the 48 hour period is given to you by the leaders & as such can take it away if they feel you are undeserving of that protection such as if you are not actively seeking a spot within a family.

Thank you Ace,

Whilst you are not \"authed\" I gladly take your response to my question. Proof can be bountiful, including the admittion of the gangster taking the shot and then their subsequent motion to call it a mistake.

I do however see where you are coming from in that people not looking to join a Family may not be offered the forty eight hour protection. That said, what sort of proof would be needed to ascertain that person was not looking for a Family?

After reading the invitation left by blob5 she finds her way to his location in the Streets. Thinking deeply for a few moments she coughs and begins to speak.

My actions would depend upon circumstances surrounding the situation. I'm not afraid to say this.

1) The Under-48 could have mugged a member of my family.. The Under-48 would be an authorized shot.

2) The Under-48 could have shot at a member of my family.. The Under-48 would be shot for this.

3) The Under-48 could have verbally assaulted a member of my family.. The Under-48 would be an authorized shot.

4) The Under-48 could have insulted my family or myself in public.. The Under-48 would die for that.

5) The Under-48 could be suicidal and looking for a quick way out. I think this is self-explanatory.

6) The Under-48 has no ambition to join a family and is remaining unsponsored to ruffle feathers and stir the pot.

However, if the Under-48 has done none of the above, then no, I do not agree with their murder and my family member would be punished accordingly. I don't accept excuses and require proof of the Under-48's transgressions. Some say I am a "hard ass" when it comes to upholding my family rules.. I don't mind that.

I hope that answers your question sir. Have a nice day.

She nods politely and makes a discrete exit to return to her warehouse to see to the family business.

Iris, I like the cut of that dress, and the cut of your answers.... and I guess I would agree whole heartedly with your sentiments. If I may, however, I would like to put the same question to yourself as I put to Ace. What sort of proof would be needed to ascertain that person was not looking for a Family?

It would appear there are still two Family heads still to come out to the streets. Skulls of The Renegades of New Orleans, would you mind stepping up the the plate and answering the question all the other Family heads have been so kind as to have answered. You too please, if you would be so kind, Mr_Corleone of Atto di Classe.

Currently i did make the mistake and my CL handled promptly the situation. I do agree that people make mistakes but also agree that the situation should be handled like any other.

I am sure you really meant to say authorized, it must just be your accent that makes it sound funny.

oh and as you are not an authorized leader I'm sure you dont get a say in the matter.

and before you all get on my back yes the person who spoke first wanted opinions from everyone and he may not be authed but he still has gave his opinion...

... but after hearing about his previous actions and how he has lied in the streets before. I really dont want to hear another word from his mouth.

thank you

Theres something niggling away at me. How can you mistake a person for being uder48 hours? Unless you can't count then you are going to be able to tell what they are.

Just to clarify my position on this

I would like to throw my 2 penny's on this one.

If they someone's son complains about his papa getting killed, that person is given instruction and still doesn't comply. and their offspring..etc..

i.e. blob1 blob2 blob3 blob4

name your kid something different and educate them how to live....having a same name with ensure your death quickly as people dont want those that are unteachable in their family.

Well obviously blob5 has now passed on, at the third attempt at his life. He had in fact requested an invite to a Family, however the leader of the Family was unfortunately away on business and thus, the key to the business gates could not be provided. That said, the track record of previous blobs was that of not actively requesting shelter, and thus it is understandable that it could be conjecture that blob5 was not looking to join a Family.

That said, of the three shots taken at blob5, one was a miss and wack back at under forty eight hours. This shooter was \"dealt with\" according to their leader, however I now see them sitting at that leaders left hand, strange way to deal with somebody breaking rules but each to their own.

The second was a miss and wack back as blob5 became forty eight hours old, it was unfortunate for the shooter as it may have damaged his pride somewhat, but in his own words, \"shit happens\".

The third was a fantastic shot which hit blob5 square in the ass as he leant on a trash can to respond to a mail, brought a whole new meaning to ripping somebody a new ass hole. Congratulations to the shooter on that one.

So to ask a new question, should the rules be there to be bent if the perpetrator of the rule breaking is a personal friend of the rule setter or a high ranking member of a Family?

In my view..

This is the mafia, if im at the top of the game and we grew up together (You wont have to worry about a thing..) Thats how family works, and sometimes it sure helps to be in a position of power and be close to the 'godfather' in town. Thats how it works.. Its all about who you know in our world of crime..

Put your work in, and the criminal life gets easier.. just as with every other job, you learn the in's and out's.
Report Post Tip
No...but depending on the target the rules can be bent.

for example, if the target is a useless criminal that is purposely not getting affiliated to cause trouble.

Then I would make it open season no matter what the perp's intention of joining a family are.

Striphe, thank you for clarifying, depending on the person in power you might be able to get away with murder. I should really try to find myself somebody in power and get to know them well enough for this, that said, I\'m a pacifist, I won\'t be shooting anybody.

FrankieFigs, may I ask if there are any in this world at present who match your example, and if so, who and how do you define your thoughts on the matter. I ask this only that people not make the mistakes you are referring to.

~blob6

are you seriously asking me that question?

The lovely hint of sarcasm implies that you know that I am obviously referring to you.
Report Post Tip
I only ever ask serious questions. If I were not serious, how would it be of use to my experiments. I sense some animosity from you towards myself, why is that? Why do you provide me as your example?

Thats the way of the world man.. you know a judge you might get off, a good lawyer, a guy who works in evidence deparment etc. We must sometimes be realistic and realize thats how the world of crime works. Network and gain friends and in due time one of your friends will be on top and be able to get you out of a bind - you never know
