I'm awake later than usual so here I am. I am one of the if not the top strong opinionated people walking these shores. When we got to the point of publicly shaming uppers I was in support of it and I was not on a crew the first time it happened. I am a firm believer if you are an upper you are to be actively engaged and have the ability to get your crew engaged. No and ifs or butts. When is Izzy implemented consequences for uppers not upholding their obligation to the crew I applauded it. You see I came around in an era where this was an issue. I was blessed to experience years of this and carried on that experience with my own Crews. To this date I am dedicated to communicating in crew and City lounge. I hear some say they want more active lounges. And I say as I always have it starts with self. When this topic surfaced years ago it helps shake things up. There was more activity. But no matter which way you flip it there's always a percentage of the user base who do not communicate. The user base has shrunk over the years for various reasons. The last regime put the nail in the coffin. And one of my Ken was out here on the streets saying she saw that coming. So Spike you need to shut the f****** because you were part of the last regime. |

So, based on what you're saying, TheGarbageTruck, you still agree with shaming uppers? Not really sure on your point about that.
Things have shaken up a bit, and the game moves in cycles. Even yesterday is a step towards shifting around some of the soil for better growth. It's good to encourage activity, and that's great. It takes collaboration with a lot of people to do that. Leaders should be doing it. They're in the position to. When it comes to activity among uppers and the game, that's something I haven't looked at, whether it's down or up. But I do agree with you that active lounges lead to a better game, especially over Discord or third party communications. This specific thread is less so about activity though, but rather uppers' character histories and breaking rules... Reflections of their characters.
All that said, between now and 2023, before anything I was a part of, there is very little difference in terms of game population. It's not particularly up or down. It's been in the range of about 325-430 or so, mainly hovering just under 400. The other week, I saw it go up to 460 and was like woah! But then I realized there were tons of NPCs for an event, which counted towards the number. I watch the game stats page regularly, which should not be surprising.
All that said, your Ken or Kin or whatever has always fought with the coffee barista using non sequiturs and nonsense, shouting at pigeons and clouds. Opinionated, yes. Coherent, no. |
