Mint_Royale noticed all the hubbub on the streets outside the Chicago HQ in passing, but couldn't get close enough to the front to hear what was being said from the raised platform. He heard murmurs and whisperings amongst the crowd about a tournament for boxing, and after the crowd began to disperse, he joined another small group occupying the space in front of a wall, in which a sign-up sheet was pinned, confirming the detail.

He read the poster.. I like the sound of this.. he thought to himself.

He quickly scribbled his details, memorised the time, place and date, and thought about how he was going to factor hitting the gym into his already busy routine. He'd make space. He 'swanned' off back down the street, shadow-boxing as he went.

Smoke curled off me as I stepped out the shadows long enough to take in what was being set up. A ring, a bell, and a crowd starting to gather. The city’s seen worse reasons to stop and watch.

I gave the list a look, then added my name.

“Simple enough,” I said. “I’ll be there.”

Good to see my friend Mint_Royale getting involved. Curious to see who else decides to step between the ropes. With that, the smoke thickened, the glow of the cigar dimmed, and I faded back into the street like I was never there to begin with.

Corruption? TheDude himself, who installed himself as a judge, voted for me in the 3-way panel. It was a split decision!

I may not have had the most hits, I definitely got knocked down the most, but I stayed firm the whole time. My opponent was gassed that whole bout...I still had energy in the tank. The rounds where he whiffed everything and I landed a single punch stacked up...the final score was 114-111 anyways.

Normally when something is rigged, the score would be rigged too!
