it is far from a lack of interest and more so a factor of their not being enough new faces coming over from the old country.

it doesn't matter if you are a captain/hand/upper/made+... the fact is that no one wants to do it because there is very little reason to.  no one wants to have their hq sponsored if the FBN is going to come in, raid it and blow it up in a matter of hours or if it is going to be a party of 3 (sorry beluga)

there are definitely folks around that want to take the plunge... but when the downside ends up outweighing the upside, it ends up becoming a matter of common sense.  

if you take on the role of putting on a bold suit, you have to be willing to take on the risks... and as of now, no one seems to be willing to take on that risk because the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

There is no need to auth someone from within Detroit because the demand for new crews doesn't exist. There are 177 spaces already and 20 potential active recruits, some of whom have no interest in employment making the real number even smaller. This oversupply of work is spread across every city meaning anyone with an appetite for the life of crime has all options available to them. 

The reason we've created this opportunity is because despite this, there are those purportedly feeling "trapped" in their current crew. Even though there is a free movement policy for any associate, the prospect of being able to move anywhere and work for anyone has been supplemented with the additional option of being able to work for yourself. This means there are literally no barriers in place for anyone to do anything they choose to do. The only reason not to is because you don't want to, which is absolutely fine. Just don't complain about anything because the contents of the entire toolbox is at your disposal.  

Why in the hell would you not select a captain out of Detroit? That there question is worth far more the cost being offered for anyone to set up. 

TheGarbageTruck, there are already captains in Bricktown and Corktown. And the offer to set up is obviously open to people already from Detroit. But the truth of it, and what is really being offered, is another slice of paradise for those entrepeneurial enough to take it. Detroit is a miracle. It is a shining city upon a hill.

To work alongside LittleSi, as he lays out in his custom-made mawashi, rubbing himself and then bringing his fingers up to his nose for a smell, is a blessing. 

He is a wise man, and a noble leader, with strong, vocal convictions about many uninteresting but important things and if he were a pigeon, he would be fat and plump and a likely candidate to be put into a pie with a little turmeric and coriander. The nutrition he would provide would be exceptional, and the dinner itself would be chic and elegant, with a good French red and light flirting, maybe a brush of a foot against a leg under the table, who knows where it could lead. 

Someone would say, 'You look ravishing, darling', and his date would say, 'Oh stop it', and then they would smirk naughtily over fleeting glances while eating the pie in which LittleSi is a cooked pigeon within. 

The FACT is, GarbageTruck, you like to talk about your "kin", despite one of these so-called "kin" having murdered their own RHM John_Fareham in cold blood for a joke he didn't even tell. There is a treachery about you that is incontrovertible, that darkens the doorway where our collective goodwill is stored with a grotesque, RHM-murdering silhouette. Do you even know what a triple-double is? I can't think of one thing your lineage has done that even remotely compares to the relatively low amount of mutiny LittleSi faces on a daily basis. 

I wonder if you have achieved one thing as impressive as the dignity by which LittleSi took his father, SimonTheSwanhunter, getting his shit absolutely rocked by Enzo_Favara, and being completely humiliated in front of everyone and made to look like a total doofus. As if, TGT. Forget about it.

I still have found it tough to find people who want to be a crew leader at the moment, let alone someone who would want to be a crew leader leading a three man crew.

I have four members now, so suck it milk! But yes, I fear we went through all this effort to help and aid anyone we felt never got their chance, never deserved it, perhaps didn't have the connections.. And yet, we are still at a standstill regarding this.

I still appreciate everyone giving aid to help people who wanted to help the average man step up, even if the average man doesn't want it, nor evidently care about it.

Hopefully us crew leaders with no members (just beluga) can fight for the tons of new recruits (usually just some spike lineage causing trouble) and establish large, active communities.

I think the most fitting end to this conversation would be for LittleSi to grant @Oceanixc (me) permission to setup his own HQ and for.TheGarbageTruck to serve as RHM.

This is a poor reconstruction, TheGarbageTruck. History has vindicated John_Fareham. Just weeks later, Constipated and nearly every other soul in the business were completely massacred. I cannot imagine any evidence more definitive in showing how badly they were lacking in all of the athletic areas highlighted by the wise guy's report, for which Fareham was murdered. And, being so correct in their assessment, one has to wonder if Constipated could still be alive today if she had just taken a moment to listen rather than fly into another bout of her famously uncontrollable rage.

Everybody thought Ben Franklin was an idiot for running around during thunderstorms with his little kite, getting himself electrocuted day after day. He would walk home every evening sizzling like a fat sausage, his clothing blackened, ripped and smoking at their edges, embers still fading in his half-a-head of burnt hair. Her choice has become so emblematic of being on the wrong side of history, it's become common practice to refer to acts of lugubrious baboonery as 'doing a Constipated'. I don't approve, and do not use that kind of language myself, but it has to be mentioned. 

One could even say, seeing as how it was the killing of Fareham that started the death spiral for that entire regime, that he was the glue keeping that entire leadership group together. BUT if the blame for every single death that preceded were to be laid at her doorstep, it would only be fair to also credit her treachery for spawning the only mafia crew to ever win both a regular season and NBA Finals MVP award, which is a really tremendous achievement.
