The Sinfather Started by: DeadlySin on May 04, '12 21:39

Deadly was going about his business in the headquarters and generally being busy when someone knocked at the door...

"Boss, a messenger from the Godfather of Philly has just been at the door. He wants to see you, he says it's important."

Deadly sighed and thanked him for bringing him the message. He grabbed his jacket, his cigarettes and his gun before heading to the car.

He lit a cigarette on the way, and thought about the long road that him brought him here. He had started this life in the old New York, under doogle. While Deadly was no more than a mere gangster his leader had been gunned down, unable to do anything and in no position to help Deadly found himself a home in Las Vegas under Aizlynn. She was gunned down after only an hour or so and again Deadly was unable to do anything and in no position to help. He found himself a new home with Champagne Supernova. Champagne was a good leader, and good friend of Deadly's. This was the crew where he made his bones, and he would never forget his roots.

When Champagne was gunned down, his last words told Deadly not to seek revenge and to live as best he could. Deadly sought council with the strongest person in Las Vegas at the time, the guy everyone thought of when they heard the city name Las Vegas - Animal. Animal was willing to listen, and Deadly told Animal of Champagne's last wishes. Animal and the other leaders agreed to let Deadly set up his own family in Vegas, and to carry on living. Even though he had been insulted and slagged off for doing so he stuck with it, he shrugged off the insults and strived to become better and stronger.

Over time the landscape of Las Vegas changed - Jammin was taken down, Animal suffered at the hands of a fatal wackback, Phantom Menace was taken down, Betsy Poke suffered also to a fatal wackback. There were a few other people that had taken their chances in Las Vegas; some lasting longer than others, some lasting not much longer than a day. Yet all the while Deadly carried on, building his defences and only taking in mafioso he considered to be quality. If there was one thing he'd learnt from his ancestors, it was that quality was better than quantity any day of the week.

After some time Deadly was a Don in Las Vegas, and had a multitude of bodyguards at his disposal. But even more than that, he had a solid crew who would gladly lay down their lives if it saw him to safety. This was proven to him when he lost multiple family members during the war with Stamina, as they fought valiantly for their city and their leader. He would never forget the path that lead to where he was now; it was definitely a path full of twists and turns, but he had negotiated through it and come out strong.

After the war with Stamina had ended, the country as everybody knew it was changed forever. Many cities had taken multiple casualties, and those left standing were all stained with blood from the war. In recognition of the effort put forth by the leaders in Las Vegas, Poisonous Jelly was awarded with the city of Las Vegas and Deadly was given Philadelphia. It was hard to say goodbye to the city that he had spent most of his life in, the city in which he had worked hard alongside others to shape and create something wonderful. However, he knew that Philadelphia would be a new challenge and one that he would enjoy immensely.

As the car pulled up his mind raced with what the Godfather wanted from him. He had paid his tribute, and kept the old man happy... Surely there were no problems yet? The Godfather's men patted him down as he entered the building, but they missed the pistol he kept handy as did everyone else when he was searched. He made his way to the Godfather's office, knocked on the door and entered.

"Ahh, Don Sin. You got my message then I take it? Good, good. Straight to business - I'm looking to retire, and I'm offering you the Godfather position of Philadelphia in exchange for 100 million dollars." The Godfather paused to watch Deadly's expression, and naturally it was one of shock. "Of course this sounds like a lot of money, but it is well worth it. I do of course require the full amount before I retire and name you as Godfather. So, what do you say?"

Deadly paused for a second, still in shock. One hundred million was a ridiculous amount of money, especially when he had his pistol stashed on himself. The old man had long lost touch with the city, for someone that was supposed to oversee it's running he knew no more than what went on in his own home. "No. I am not paying you that much money. I will have to decline your offer." Deadly nodded at the Godfather, stood, and turned to walk out of the room. He pushed open the doors and heard the click as someone behind him cocked their gun.

He launched himself quickly over the couch in the waiting room, landing hard on the floor as a bullet slams into the wall overhead. Deadly pulled out his trusty revolver which he'd had stashed away, just as one of the Godfather's bodyguards who'd patted him down came in through the far door. He lifted his arm and shot quickly - the first shot hitting the man in the shoulder, the second slamming into the man's chest and killing him.

Deadly turned his attention back to the men in the Godfather's office - bullets were still hitting the wall. He waited for a break in the gunfire and quickly fired off two shots, killing one of the bodyguards. As he ducked back behind the couch he heard footsteps moving toward him, he listened to where the footsteps were coming from before popping up his head and shooting the bodyguard square between the eyes.

As he ducked back behind the couch a couple more shots ripped through the couch, narrowly missing his shoulder. He flicked out the cylinder, only one bullet left. He was sure by now that people would have noticed the gunfire, and more of the Godfather's bodyguards would be on their way to protect him. It was now or never...

Coco was sitting in the HQ reading over some papers DeadlySin had left for her. Through the open window she heard tyres screeching, a car door slamming and shouting. Unstrapping her revolver from her thigh, she listens to the footsteps thudding up the stairs. The door is thrown open and a young man is stood there.

Ma'am - I heard gunfire at the Godfathers house, I saw Don Sin enter the place not long beforehand!

Worrying about what's going on, Coco makes a rushed phone call to Phil_Steak while grabbing extra bullets. Slamming the phone down, Coco runs outside and jumps in the car. Arriving at the Godfathers house Coco checks for signs of life before slowly getting out of the car. Gun in hand ready, she makes her way towards the front door. Seeing a flash of light followed by the deafening sound of gunfire, Coco throws open the door and hears one single shot... and then silence.

Deadly? Where are you!?

Coco climbs the stairs, she can hear someone at the top. Lifting her gun ready she sees DeadlySin standing over the Godfather's body. Deadly nods at her, then she follows him as he heads down the stairs while explaining about the Godfather wanting to retire and how he felt this was his only way out.

You are now Godfather of Philadelphia boss, congratulations. I know you will do brilliantly in your new position, I'm so proud of you.

They both walk out the front doors as they hear tyres screeching followed by the slam of car doors as Phil_Steak comes running towards them with back up.

Phil_Steak was quietly pouring two cups of coffee while preparing an omelette. In his bed can be seen the outline of a near perfect body, with long red hair. Phil was quiet not to wake up his prize for the night. His mind was trying to process what her name was, so he didn't feel like a fool when he woke her up with breakfast.

RRRRRINNNNGGGGGGGG. RRRRRINNNNGGGGGGGG. RRRRRINNNNGGGGGGGG.

Phils reaches for his phone with one hand, while still pouring the coffee with his other. He hears Coco on the other end, however she spoke so fast and hung up, he didn't quite understand what she said. "Shots fired. Godfathers Mansion. DeadlySin. NOW!" Were the only words he made out clearly. Once it hit him, he dropped the pitcher of coffee and jolted to the bedroom to get dressed.

"Get the hell up, woman. I need you out of here. I don't care where you go, this isn't the god damn time!" -- He yells at what was his previous prize of the night, scrambling to pull up his trousers and put on his shoes. He runs out the bedroom without even bothering to find a shirt, wearing just a white muscle shirt.
He opens his apartment door and startles the three guards stationed infront of it.
Phil points at the youngest of the three and shouts
"Make sure she gets out of my apartment. Get on the phone and tell KissTheSky to get to the Godfathers mansion, 5 minutes ago! That's an order!" He then takes off, barking at the other two guards to follow him.

They quickly get into Phils car, clipping the parked car infront of them as Phil sped out of the parking spot towards the Godfathers mansion.

Phil sees Cocos car parked upfront. He doesn't waste any time parking and viciously halts his car next to hers. He reaches for his trusty Colt 38 super from the glove compartment and races out towards the front door as he sees Deadly and Coco walking out.
He lifts his gun and points it towards the door before releasing two shots.
DeadlySin and Coco check themselves, before turning behind them to find a body now twitching on the floor.

"Do you guys have any idea what I left back in the apartment? You owe me....." he stops himself in mid sentence.
He looks at Coco with a confused gaze, then points his finger up towards what was the Godfathers office window.
Coco, grinning, nods at him and makes a slight motion with her head towards DeadlySin.

Phil reaches for DeadlySins hand and kisses it.
"I am honored to serve you, Godfather DeadlySin."

Well done sir! It is an honor for myself and our entire city! We wish you the best of luck and look forward to our progress forward but first lets party!

Seldom has congratulations been more deserved that at this moment.

DeadlySin, it has been a pleasure watching you grow with your family during your time in Vegas to the point where you eventually earned your big move to take on your own city. Since landing in Philly you've continued to prove that you are truly deserving of your position and its fitting that finally now you are granted the title to merit your standing in our community.

As always, should you ever make the long haul trip to Vegas there is always a bed for you in Fort Izzel, though its often occupied by our monkeys in your absence, but we wont go into that...

Congratulations once again, I look forward to seeing you take Philly even further now.

KissTheSky was standing in front of the small window in her office. Sure it was late and she probably should have been at home, but for some reason, tonight the thought of going home to an empty apartment just didn't seem comforting. She sipped the glass of rum she held in her hand as she stared out into the night, pondering ideas for the city. The shrill ring of the telephone jolted her back to reality.

Who in the hell...

She muttered as she hurried to the phone, setting her glass down as she brought the receiver to her ear.

Hello... Wait, wait slow down!!... What do you mean... Are they?!... Ok! I'm on my way!!!

KissTheSky dropped the phone as she reached for her gun, tucking it into her garter. She rushed for the door, startling her trusty bodyguard Ramone, who was standing on the other side. Noticing the panic in her eyes, he didn't say a word but only ushered her quickly to the car. He tried to open her door but she shoved him out of the way.

There's no time!!! Get your ass in the car, I'm driving!!!

Her hands were shaking as she fumbled with the key, trying to get the car started. When she finally got it, she sped off, fishtailing down the road as she raced to the Godfather's Mansion. Ramone didn't dare try to speak to her, he only watched as she gripped the steering wheel tightly. When they reached the mansion, she screeched to a halt and jumped from the car, pulling out her gun as she raced towards the house. When she saw DeadlySin, Coco and Phil_Steak standing there, with no one around, she lowered her gun and slowed down. Her eyes widened at the sight of DeadlySin looking slightly disheveled, but a huge grin on his face. There was a certain sparkle in Coco's eyes and Phil was nodding, with a smile.

NO WAY!!!!!! GODFATHER?!?!?!

A tear formed in her eye that she quickly wiped away.

Congratulations Godfather DeadlySin, it is a privilege and an honor to witness this moment and to serve you!

WhereWasI hears a commotion outside after sleeping in DeadlySin's old abandoned Casino building in Las Vegas that he was once bribed to advertise in. Hearing of Deadly's promotion he rushes to the site where a crowd was gathering to congratulate DeadlySin. He snuck up on PoisonousJelly and tied a string around the back of his tie under the improperly folded collar.

Congratulations Deadly, It was fun working with you in Las Vegas while you were here. It's been a while since I've done something stupid and blamed you so in celebration of your God Fatherliness I arranged some entertainment.

WhereWasI makes a signal and notices one of his members tie a bag of firecrackers to the other end of the string planted on PoisonousJelly and light them before he could react or congratulate DeadlySin.

I'll say congratulations again to a man who has definitely earned this and I'd love to stay around longer but PoisonousJelly will probably shoot me after he's done running so the firecrackers don't explode on his back and I don't foresee them lasting much longer.

WhereWasI sprints off in the distance zig zagging to make PoisonousJelly's potential shots difficult.

A shot rang through the air as Cory turned his attention from what he was doing and made his way to his window. When he saw that gunfire had entered the street, he would check it out and see what all was going on. He walked out into the commotion and seen there had been a new promotion to country. Cory lingered around the back of the crowd while people said their congratulations to him. When Cory saw a spare moment he made his way through the people and to DeadlySin.

"What an honor. Every since I have come over to this country on the boat, I have always admired how much work you put into something you wanted. I for one, can say you are a person that is more then deserving for this promotion that you earned. It is a priveledge to have you as the Godfather of Philly and I know you will continue to do great things with the city. Congrats once again DeadlySin, you are truely a man who fits the position."

With that Cory handed DS an envelope and nodded to the new Godfather. He nodded his head to DS with a smile and continued to the back of the crowd where a car was waiting on him.

Uncle_Dolan approaches DeadlySin and shakes his hand vigorously.

DeadlySin I want to offer my congratulations and while I am here my thanks for accepting me into your family and taking me under your wing. I came to this great country as a young man with high hopes but without a clue. You gave me confidence and know-how to make it in this world. I couldn't have asked for a better leader and you thoroughly deserve your promotion.

As the news of the old Godfather's takedown trickled through the HQ the excitement was palpable. Lalaith walked toward an office to make a call, passing the HQ bar to the sounds of raucous laughter and celebration, she couldn't help but smile as she thought of how the events unfolded. He'd done it! It had taken a while to sink in.

As she reached for the phone to call the nearest bakery, the thought kept invading her mind. $100 million? Ha, he could have dropped twice that! The old bugger really underestimated the limits of his captains generosity. Dialling the number, she had to shake herself a little when she heard a voice.

Yes, Yes I'm here. I'd like to order a cake... Size? Why the biggest you can bake! There is a new Godfather in town and this demands baked goods! I'd like the icing to read, Congratulations Godfather, The Deadliest of Sinners. Oh and make sure it has chocolate sprinkles, they're his favourite.

Hanging up the phone and feeling awash with pride, Lalaith tootled off to the HQ bar to join the rambunctious party.

SpoonFace approached DeadlySin and gave him a gentle hand shake to avoide any splinters. He was going to go in for the chest bump but he was currently covered in soup from his part time job as a stiring utensil.

Deadly, I haven't been working with you for long, but our bloodlines have known each other for generations. I can honestly say that I can think of no one more deserving of this title than you my friend. It has been an absolutely pleasure, and it will be an honor to work along side you for a long time. You've given me a chance I never would have expected, and it will take a lifetime to repay the generosity you and Coco have shown me.

Congratulations! Drinks are on me tonight. Except for Coco, she gets a bit crazy when she gets drunk.

Phantom had been busy setting himself up, as well as helping his family set up for the big celebrations. His father had known DeadlySin reasonably well, and he would probably have appreciated this day more than Phantom could. But he was still proud, as Philadelphia was getting a Godfather after many months.

A lot of wars had to be fought to reach this stage, I hope it is now time to build. Congratulations and may this venture prove to be the most successful of your ventures.

Kurtz had been travelling around for much of the previous evening and arrived at the old home of the Godfather of Philly in a somewhat dishevelled state. He climbed out of the car and walked up the long driveway admiring the grand old building. The old boy sure knew how to live! This would make a fitting home for Deadly now. As he reached the front of the house he joined the gathering celebrations and tributes. Making his way through the group he stood in front of the new Godfather of Philadelphia.

DeadlySin. Godfather DeadlySin. You have walked a very long road to get here my friend. You have faced an almost endless line of adversity and conflict. For anyone to be left standing after everything you have been through would be cause enough for celebration. But to be standing here now as Godfather of one the country's fine cities, my friend that is an astonishing achievement.

Kurtz handed the new Godfather a long wooden case. An exquisite piece of craftsmanship, rich mahogany inlaid with light beach and walnut patterns. DeadlySins stroked an appreciative hand across the surface before flipping the clasp and opening the box. Inside a rich silk lining supported a Roman short-sword, Clearly ancient, the handle was intricately carved ivory ending in an elaborate eagle's head carving. The hilt was inlaid with gold and jewels and the guard comprised of different coloured metals worked together with incredible skill. It was a breathtaking item. DeadlySin looked up at Kurtz with understandable appreciation. Kurtz went on to explain.

This was one of a few swords made for Julius during his time as emperor. I believe that despite its obvious beauty, it was meant to be used as a practical tool for war. As I have watched you go from one challenge to another and handle each in turn with the force of an army and the deft hand of a diplomat, I could think of no finer object to represent this incredible balance you have embodied in all you have done. You have conducted yourself with the utmost dignity, never asking for help, never making bargains for the sly profits that were offered, you have walked with increasing strength through challenge after challenge and come out of it with galvanized integrity on the other side. It is an honour to call you my friend. You have my deepest respects. Always.
