A very young man who is has just started his path to find his way around these streets would like to share his thoughts with you all if you so choose to listen. Today is a great day for me its the day I start my life of crime and I would like to hear peoples opinions on what they think would be the best way to go if they had the choice (hypatheticaly speaking of course) I would like to put it to you all would you choose a life of money or power but before you make the choice id like to share with you some of the pro's and con's before you make up your minds. Money Pro's: Having the money to live the high life day in and day out at the great Casino's or maybe Black Jack is your thing, You would have a great HQ like no other coverd with the finest mafia memrabelia that money can buy with the greatest security to protect it. This also would be able to get you the most amount of Bodyguards that a man can possibley need. You would also have the wealth matched by no man/woman so of course you could hire the greatest killers in the land to pave the road to greatness for you with out you ever having to handle a gun yourself. Money Con's: As we all know with money the comes greed you would begin to turn on friends and even family to get more and you would trust no one since would they really be true friends and family or just brought ones..? Your pockets would always be full of fresh $100 notes which of course no matter how much protection you have would always atract the sneakyist of thiefs to try there luck. Although you could have any man/woman killed you would never taste the feeling of success of wiping the smile of your enermys faces with your own hands. Finerly you could still die since we know there is always the risk of that lucky shot which would leave you with nothing. Power Pro's: Having a great power would give you an amount of authority and respect among your peers. You would not need millions of dollers to buy the greatest security around since bullets just seem to bounce off you. You have the power to make or break anyones life since you could end someones life with a squeeze of your trigger or make someone by teaching them your skills to dodge bullets and get what you want in life. Power Con's: As some guy once said to me in a bar with great power comes great responsiblity (OOC:totaly not from spiderman) you would have to deal with the local idiots day in and day out and be expected to make things right all the time. You would also have many enermys since in the life we all want to be the big cheese so you will have many wanting to take your place away from you, so you could not even trust your closest family from wanting to slice your throat wile you slept. You yourself may be able to dodge bullets but there are many ways to break a man they might not be able to come after you but think about your family, friends your prized stalion or personal objects of value to you. So I put it to you all what life if one would you choose to live? Is money realy the answer to all your probems or is having the power to remove your problems it? I would like it if you could explain why you choose your choice with some situations as to why you are sure you made the right choice there, if your feeling upto it. The young man takes a seat and listens to what the people of the streets have to say Also my spell checker has gone awol so please dont ridicule me for spelling errors or grammar mistakes I have worked with what I have here and tried to make it understandable. Also I just don't care if you can spell better than me :-P |

Strolling down the streets, Rorschach stops to offer his two cents. Personally, I've always seen money and power as two sides of the same coin, unable to be separated. Money is power, as everyone knows. A big bank account gives you unique influence and opportunities, as well as a degree of control over others. Similarly, those who possess natural power or talent can often effortlessly make money because of it. |

A Young man Waks to the crowd. Personal myself, I think that Repsect is the best to have in this world we live in. Respect will get you the power you deserve, if you have no respect you will properly end up dead. If you have the respect, you will make friends and be respect yourself and your life will be fine. I also think money is not power, you will not be scared of in this world if yo are a rich greedy person with no respect for any but yourself. You you will never get power, if you dont earn it, with putting alot of hard working hours in. Thanks for your time. |

| Well money and power should mean nothing to you. The only thing you need in this life is loyalty, money or power only gets you friends when it suits their needs, as the saying goes, "A friend will bust you out of jail, a true friend will be sitting next to you in the slammer." Money and power are NOTHING compared to a true friend, you would do well to learn this early in life, money and power only corrupt. | |

I agree with LilWayne. R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Respect for your family, and people outside of your family. Theres nothing better than earning peoples respect on your own terms, not because of your rank or bank. I also agree with DrFeelGood. Loyalty to your family. They always have your back no matter how much money or power you have. Even though money and power sound good. You'll make it in this world with two things. Respect and Loyalty |

| With all due respect... the matter at hand is debating the merits of a life of money and a life of power. Though certainly, I know we all get a kick out of touting the virtues of respect and loyalty, which I would never argue against. | |

If given the choice I would choose to be powerful over rich. As some people have already mentioned, power and money come almost hand in hand. You can have money without power but you can hardly ever have power without money. Thus once you are powerful, money tends to come flowing in... Just my two cents... Like many have stated before me, I often associate money with power, and vice versa. Usually one comes with the other. If you look at the most powerful men and women in our society, also known as the Crew Leaders, I'm sure you find that their cash supply is never tipping towards the low side of the scales. In this case, their power has gained them money from those who follow them, idolize them, or commit crimes within their cities. Money can often bring power. If you pay someone to do something for you here, someone else to do a little job on the side for you there, suddenly you're pulling the puppet strings and flexing your muscle, or 'power', in the easiest way possible around these parts. So while it's fine to say you would pick one option or the other, in essence you're really gaining a bit of both with whatever road you take! |

I don't think that money and power are the same thing because I don't think money gets you true power. The type of power money brings only lasts as long as you have that money. Once it's gone, say, in a war, or if you were mugged, then you lose that power, at least in someone's else's eyes. If I had to choose between the two, I would take money, as with that I can use for something useful. - My two cents. |

Sam_Rothstein listens to every mafiosos views before passing on his own, takes the cigarette from his mouth, and speaks... I feel that power overules money in most situations, with power comes the respect and money. With power there is the potential for anything providing a mafioso has the capabilities, often power is fear and when faced ith a loaded gun, money will get you nowhere, although if you already have the power, you will never find yourself with a loaded gun in your face. | To me the two go hand in hand and rather than an either or situations one will most likely attain both or none. With power will come money in almost every circumstance and money itself equals power, but should I be forced to choice just one of the two it would be power. Peoples quest for wealth and riches is often a veiled quest for power, it is the desired result for almost anyone anywhere and it would be my choice in an instant. | |

* Looks above * I'd have to agree with Strabo - just about anyone can be bought. I doubt there's a war that starts in this thing of ours that $25,000,000 wouldn't solve. Murder acts as a buffer to keep people on their toes - but the main driving force is money. An example - You've got an IA in your sights about to shoot - someone offers you $1,000,000 not to fire - what would you do? A/ Put your gun away B/ Ask for more money? C/ Fire? |
