Squishy I think what's been happening recently is auth hasn't been required as soon as rebuild kicks in. Maybe that was a bug which everyone took to be intentional.

So for a few months now as soon as rebuild turned on at the first stage unsponsered gangsters & goombas have been taking pop shots at CL's, or at least that's what I've heard.

CleanBandit, do you think that should kick while there is an active war? Keep in mind the war brought on rebuild.

The way I understood it was that rebuild that's caused by no jobs/a refusal to do them is a "screw everyone" and kill all the current CL's type deal, while rebuild caused by the death of a bunch of CL's shouldn't screw them over if the ones still alive are still making the effort towards recruitment.

Not to say recruitment is any better during war, as identifying new players versus those returning looking to hold out until they can pro is difficult, but assuming the bar is set and new players can continue joining crews or doing job even amidst one is the whole idea.

War is already punishing enough being that everyone or a chunk of people are now dead; forcing universal auth every time shots are fired is counter-productive to takeovers and rather discouraging in a game about killing people, especially with how RATs and Durdens commonplace and the likes of those work.

That's just my thoughts though, the whole point is making sure new players aren't left in the shitter when us veterans throw food at each other.

Surely the ultimate goal is to welcome newcomers. However, I will not bite in this instance for the mere fact a good many verterans don''t believe anyone is new unless they single handedly bring them on board.

No, it shouldn't kick during a war. What's the point of coordinating shots if you can shoot anyone willy nilly? Also adds a level of protection to general players, you should be asking for auth to shoot higher people to begin with if you already aren't in that position. That's how the real mafia works anyway.

It kicked during the last one because jobs were nonexistent for like 7 hours, three straight at one point.

There is a misunderstanding. I am saying war threw us into rebuild. Anyone can shoot. Suddenly the job board is looking peachy keen and now not everyone can shoot. 

That job board had no business taking the right to continue shooting in an active war. What it did was essentially hand over a total win. And have you seen the announcements on the new work on these shores? tis tis 

Rebuild was modified in the thread I posted to no longer apply to that previous code change earlier that year if I remember right, where rebuild doesn't automatically equal free shots for all anymore since then. The job board didn't take that away from anyone, nobody had it to begin with until jobs fell apart. The universal auth gets removed when jobs recovered.

If you're referring to Aizen, he made himself a Wise Guy after joining a crew, that action pulled him out of the three rank minimum differential you otherwise needed to ignore auth, since he was no longer a Consigliere.
