So I got to thinking about what is considered the norm in our place about setting up families. And I don't think we are doing it right, now keep in mind this is just me spilling thoughts out on paper so keep your rogue alert thoughts to yourself. Right now, and in the past. If you wanted to set up your own family, you had to have the "OK" from all the current leaders. If you are setting up as a captain you only need the go ahead from YOUR family head. Again this is the norm and excepted by most. Now, get this! I am going to suggest change... OH NO!! My question is, what business is it of anyone in another city, what I do in a city that has no family in it? My opinion is none...I mean these leaders are in there own city, their turf. I think I heard once from someone smarter than I am, that this isn't a position that should be voted on, its a power struggle. I mean as long as I am not setting up in someone else's turf, why should they care? Of course if I was to set up in someone's claimed turf then I should be labeled a threat. This brings up another aspect to the "OMFG W3 HAF a ROUGE!!!" If someone sets up in an unoccupied city, they HAD to come from an already set up family, and everyone knows that leaving a family without permission is grounds for "dismissal". So if this individual DOES set up in an unoccupied city, he/she would have had to have permission from there leader before leaving the family to start their own. OF course if that Don DID give the okay to do so and this newly self-proclaimed Family head turns out to be a loose cannon then you have the "who is responsible for allowing this idiot to set up" clause; that again brings in a new aspect to the entire situation. The Godfather Counsel was created by a Great man in the past, and has been the way of life ever since, its funny though, from what I hear..this GFC inventor actually got to power by setting up the way I have just suggested...interesting. Thoughts? |

I agree. It seems in today's world the only way to the top is through one of the don's friends list. I personally think open cities should be left for someone who CHOOSES to lead them, not someone who is PICKED. However, with the incredible gun strengths now-a-days, anyone that does something the "GFC" doesn't like is usually killed. I say, let open cities be open. But then ALLOW someone to set up there, and if no one does after a certain time, pick one. Btw, just my opinion there, none of that is meant to offend anyone. Shade walks off to hit up some 7/11s. |

Wow, I speak out loud about how I think the current system needs changed...give it examples and reasoning, and only one other person has something to say? Did I get folks thinking? Is my idea so absurd that it doesn't warrant a retort. Are the Boss' not confident in their system? |

I agree with your ideas SoundWarning. The council of GodFathers should allow the unoccupied cities a chance to be graced with new life and new chanced at leadership. With the upgrades in headquarters the families and captains are now allow to occupy more family. I believe if your a head of a city that should be able to do with it as you please. Authorize as many family heads as you see fit, but take into consideration that they would have to be help responsible for anything out of hand. If there are unoccupied cities there are chances for new leadership. I would like to see "new faces" get chances, but at the same time I would like to have experienced bloodlines grace them as well. With the expansion of organized crime there is no reason that we should not have a Don or crime boss running it. The GodFather Council does great things for approving new leaders I'd like to see go to those who work hard and do what is asked of them not to the ones who have been a friend or aquaintance. Just a friendly opinion and my two cents. |

In my humble opinion it is right as things run around here about the empty cities. Of course I agree with you that an open city is - as it says - an open city, to everyone. Why shouldn't you take control if you're able to. But I have to say an open city is also a dangerous thing if it would be run by a person who just took control. It's a dangerous thing not just for the city, not just for the people who live there it is also dangerous for the other families of the other cities if some random man/woman takes the power. To control a city means a lot of power which needs to be controlled. If someone takes a city, not ready or capapable to have such a huge amount of power it can get dangerous for many many lives. For example a trigger happy person with blood thirst takes his chance and gets the head of the city. It doesn't takes long and he has 50 men behind him, they get better in skills and rank and if he wants he'll thinks...why don't take another city or this person just don't likes another city head. I think it's important to control the people who'll get some much power and this by the current leaders. A person they might know good or they respect and see fit for the job. Of course this scenario can also happen with an leader authed by the other dons but the risk is less. I think it's an issue which needs to be controlled by the heads of the different cities to place a person in such a position. |

None of us are Godfathers or Godmothers. We do have a council I guess, but it's more relaxed that times gone by. We are the people charged with leading this world. We have people telling us what to do all the time. This is another time that is no different than the others. Please do not refer to us as a "Godfather Council", we are a group of city leaders and their captains trying to do what we think will most benefit our community and bring those that have been quiet for so long out of the closet. We are the people that are here to help teach. We've seen this whole "Oh wow, open city let whoever set up" blah blah shit in the past. It didn't work. There will be another auth in the next few days. There is no shortage of room. She rolls her eyes and glares at Sound Warnings before leaving. Please, if you are going to compare us to times gone by.. Don't. We are trying to do things differently while preserving the stability that this place needs. |

Iris, I only say "GFC" as I am with a lack of a better term. but the basic idea of that is in place. I'm sure you wouldn't be to pleased if one other Leader set up one of their own in an unoccupied city, am I right? the point is, I think that because its the norm...or "Its always been that way" we think thats the right way. I know, "We have tried in the past and it didn't work" Really? Did we? when? I remember having cities "Open" for anyone who wanted to set up...but again thats dictated by the already set up leaders... why can't an open city be an open city? This has nothing to do with "OMG Teh leaders arent authin enuf folks" its a simple idea. btw, I have no intention of leaving my family, I am fine serving my Don. But one should never ASK for auth, thats tacky and very disrespectful. |

I agree with Iris. The agreement is in place because there is a system to follow. Simple system, you earn the position. Can someone just off and take the city? Sure they can. Would they then be considered a Rogue? Of course they would be, the simple fact of leaving a Family without permission is what defines our view as a Rogue in this world. Only other way to do it would have to be to ask permission from their Crew Leader like you yourself state, am I correct? Well isn't that what they would have to do now anyways? If your Crew Leader answers with "No", well then they don't feel it's either: A: Not your time too shine. B: The current situation doesn't warrant such Authing. I figure, you have the balls to setup by departing a Family, then you can deal with what comes with the role. Sure your Crew Leader can set who they want up, but it's out of Respect in why the Crew Leaders ask prior to authing. Your leader can do as they please, but there are risks in taking such actions because it's frowned upon, always has been, always will be. Could we get together and talk about it? Sure we could, and if it was requested to be done by the community, then I think it should be. Although I must admit, as far as this subject is concerned it won't get anywhere, too many issues and possible results of instability concerns come to mind when given thought about it. I do however respect your input on new Idea's for future possibilities. |

We discussed it but had anyone disagreed I can pretty much say that these auths would have been put into place anyways sir. We are a team of people that know if we do not work together on some things that there will be no success, we will go back to the days of not knowing whether or not you would live to see another sunset. We enjoy working together and helping each other. I apologize if you feel we are not doing our jobs correctly in your eyes. Thank you again for stirring the pot. I'm sure another leader or one of their representatives will speak shortly and you will have rocked the boat, drawn the attention of the leaders, and accomplished your goal by starting this discussion. |

I never meant to indicate that anyone was doing anything WRONG, its a thought, if its not liked its not liked. StoneSilent thats pretty much how I feel about the entire thing, like I said and you have said, its about 'if then' statements. IF this happens..then do this. If you and your boss were talking and your boss said, "Hey, have you ever thought about setting up in LA?" Theres a start. and idea is an idea, and thats it...like i said in my original speech, squash the rogue shit, my family line has never EVER in the past without a Boss requesting it. Its not my style and frankly I am a little hurt that anyone would think that of my family line... |

Thoughts, SoundWarnings, you want people's thoughts on this issue. As I understand it, the current method is for a crewleader to advise the other CLs as to who they want authed, and I personally believe this to be a good method. Why shouldn't the current batch of Family Heads exert control over the empty cities? Allow me to elaborate on my opinion. Let's say for a second that your method was followed. As long as the Person A's own CL gave their blessing, then Person A can leave the family and set up in an empty city, correct? Now then, were Person A not liked by a different CL, then Person A would swiftly be taken care of because they were a threat. Now think about it, wouldn't it have made more sense for Person A's CL to advise the other CLs that Person A wanted auth? That way, the CL that doesn't like Person A would express their concern, and appropriate measures could be taken. This is why we have the system we have today, because it makes more sense. Not to mention the chaos that would ensue. Were a CL to die, leaving a city empty, then it would be a race for someone else to take over the mantle. Cue the chaos. Not to mention the fact that your proposed method has the flaw of a dominant CL killing off the other CLs one by one and authing their own hitters in the empty cities to consolidate power. Denver shrugs. You asked for thoughts sir, I will gladly offer my own. |

don-coleone, is there some reason that you chose to echo the words of others that have spoken here this evening with such precision that it's almost embarrassing to your leader that you cannot seem to think for yourself? It is not acceptable that you go around boosting your own "statistics" by using the work of others to further yourself. It makes you look cheap and lazy. What am I speaking of you say? Example 1:
Example 2:
Please, try and be original... Using other people's words without recognition of their authorship is disrespectful and makes you and your family look bad. |

*checks out the croud and listens to the other speakers* *coughs* Excuse me!! May I ask what this discusion is about? Questening the actions of the leaders in public should not be tolerated! You ladies think this is a democracy???? *laughs* Mafia is simple really..... Let me explain to you: Loads of money: You can do what you want Loads of guns : You can do what you want Loads of cops on the pay roll: You can do what you want And if you have more bosses with all the above they split. Thats how it works. IF you dont like it work your ass off and aquire all of the above and now you have something to say. If not: Listen to your boss or be a man and claim your place Regards, K-9 |

Oh it does FP, Not at the moment as we have found a genuine group of Family heads and Captains that are working to better the community, But with the system we have now, I can and has happened how Denver has said... To be fair, This system wouldn't really work, I'd love it to, as it would bring alot of fresh blood into auths. But I do not see it working anytime in the near future. Aye I didnt exactly give a reason why I think it wouldnt work... I would generally be repeating what has already been said by Denver. |
