in the 1920's, Illegal Gambling and Bootlegging were the main sources of profit for mobsters/gangsters and not drugs(narcotics), I think gambling should be improved here :)
like small time gambling rackets that can be upgraded into a casino.
well as you can see, there's hardly a casino in business lately and small time gambling rackets might improve the gambling industry because it would be cheaper and it can be upgraded that would eventually reach the level of business as a casino. :) |

If you're suggesting what I think you're suggesting, then I'm not sure I would support this. You're actually limiting people in being able to run their own gambling rackets by placing them in an owners casino. I see people making brackets all the time for things inside and outside of the game, why limit their capabilities of doing that by adding this into casino's? No one is stopping anyone currently from running their own gambling ventures, however, were you to set up these rackets in the casinos, which are owned by one person, what is to keep the casino owner then from shutting down private gambling rackets that may interfere with their business? |

I've read that turf and rackets are already being incorporated into the game. Hope that's true. |

Cassiopeia, I'm not suggesting what you think you're sugggesting.
I'm suggesting separate gambling rackets aside from a casino. kind of low budget ones. why would having a small racket of gambilng limit anyone? it would even help them.
JoeyCaresi, I hope that's true.

Small Time Gambling Rackets.
By that I mean backroom gambling houses that has low betting limits up to an average betting cap.
Example; in the casinos here, most have a minimun of $2500 for betting and up to $100,000 + betting cap, the small time rackets would make $1000-$2500 the max and the lowest $250.
Profit is not guaranteed, because it depends on the people willing to gamble. Well, its gambling anyway.
You get my point?
This would give more branches for profit aside from the narrow choice of dealing drugs as the main source of profit.
not everyone is a CL that gets donations and tax payments and can afford instant big time casinos right? :)
And my other intention is a bit more realism.
Thanks :) |

So to be clear; your idea is to mirror the current Casinos with cheaper options that are readily available to everyone with a very small stake? |

I'm only one person fella, others may have a different view. Don't be downhearted by my reluctance to support it. |

You do not need to be a CL who is earning donations and taxes to gamble at these casinos. $2000 is not a ridiculous bottom amount to ask players to bet, especially considering our economy. In my opinion, I don't really see a need to lower the betting down into the hundreds range. If realism is what you're seeking... Well then you're talking about the average joe, as a mobster would want to go into a casino and drop the biggest amount he could to give the impression that he was important, rich, man of means whatever description you want to use. But don't be discouraged, as Warrior said, the commission is composed of many different people with many different opinions. |

Cassi,
I mean, CLs are commonly the only ones that can afford Casinos. I didn't say that they are the only ones that can gamble.
I'm sorry that you cant seem to comprehend what I'm trying to express. |

I can't "comprehend" what you're saying because you're obviously not getting your point across well enough. So now what you're saying is that you think the average joe should be able to purchase a stake in the casino with the option to run their own small time racket out of someone else's casino who paid big money to own it? See I really can't tell what you're on about... You either want smaller betting or you want to be able to own a stake in a casino and take from others profits. And by the way, I've known several people that have had the money to buy casino's that weren't CL's. |

Thats exactly not my point.
Okay, for you Cassi, here it is again, what I'm trying to say is;
Purchasing /Establishing a "Small Time" gambling racket than can be upgraded up to the level of a casino. Not purchasing a stake from other casinos.
like the way we purchase a DFP. do you get it now? I hope so, others got it from the very start :O
Here is the main concept "Starting out small then working up to become a big time casino (by upgrading)"
Minor Concept #1
The games are Roulette,Slots, and Blackjack.
The starting gambling house will only be able to support one game.
First upgrade will be able to support two.
Second will be able to support all three.
The Third one will upgrade the whole Gambling house to a Casino, having the same minimum betting and max bets as what the current casinos have now.
I'll try to come up with more concepts. That's if anyone is interested. |

What Cassi said is not part of my idea. buying stakes from other casinos?... I didn't even type that.
Anyway, stick to the topic everyone :) |
