| Gifting leftover/unused gifts | Started by: Cory_Chase on Sep 19, '12 21:35 |

I looked at my gifts today and seen that I was overloaded with CAs. It will take me months to get through them frankly.
I love Squishy and his gifts, don't get me wrong. I will take in as much as I am willing to hold, but can we have an option to where I can gift these away? I know some people that could use them more then I could... and it isn't worth me spending 10 more credits on them when I have 6 leftover to play with. Or my 3-4 months of timers, I wish I could gift these out to the people in my crew that actually could use them that can't afford them.
Putting a gift option next to the redeem wouldn't be hard I wouldn't think (I don't know, I am in no means a coder of any sort). Just would be better and more useful to people I could give them to. I could use them to gift for competition winnings, rewards to family members, really the options are limitless on how I could gift them and the reasonings for doing so. Please consider this, I want to give some people these CA's that I won't use for months on in. |

I see no Cons for this at all? |

I don't see any issue with this either to be honest. |

Only con I can really see is if someone is selling the items for a cheapers value then what it costs to actually purchase them. I don't know if you really look at that as a con, maybe more of a please to do with them as they like sort of thing. But no one in their right mind would stock on them and then resell them for a lesser price, I wouldn't think. Maybe someone can make a dollar or two off of a prized CA or something or the sort. Don't know if that is really a con however. |

I wouldn't call that a Con, the sale price is entirely the uers own choice. |

Hopefully it will be considered, as Chase said there are countless reasons that he can gift them. Since CA are equivalent ( more or less when you purchase it as 10 credits ) . And PC-Warrior himself said , there seems to be no con on it. |

Although a lot of people have said they see no downside to this but I have to say is there really a need for it, the only reason someone would have the extra's to give away is because they have won them in some form of competition and how often does that happen really. I think this would be a waste of the coders time as it will hardly be used. |

Flash, I had a member before with 8 Durden mapping, they had purchased 1 of the last 5 MIAs on several occasions and so their mapping gifts were stacking up, things like this happen more than you might think. |

Flash, I would have to disagree. It might take time to get a few items to do it with but like Warrior said, I know people are hoarding some Durden Mappings and some other goodies. Would be awesome of be able to send a mapping or two out to people just in case I am absent. At least they will be getting used instead of rotting with me.
Also I don't know if you know but you can see the gifts in the Gifts/Redeems page. That is if you don't open them to get what is inside. Why not open the gift and let it go to your redeems and gifts instead of just automatically using them? People get gifts from MR every few days, it could be a great tool to save those (Esp for CLs) and give them out to people who could use them and not afford them.
When we get a gift from a person it goes to the gifts, why doesn't the MR gifts do it in the same way? When we open the gift it attaches itself onto us. If we placed it in the gifts selection and have the ability to Re-Gift, then they will get used. And the items will get used, or they will continue to do what the system currently does now: automatically adds it to your character.
Not only did I have these CA's, I had timers galore. I know plenty of members ALWAYS struggling for timers. This could easily solve the solution and it wouldn't feel like a waste of having months of timers hoarded. I can afford them, but I don't wish to spend more credits on things that I have to my disposal. It would be like everything else in this game, the owner has the power to use it as they please.
When I get a jail perk from MR, I don't want it. I want to give to someone. But I am unable to without this game suggestion put into place.. Would save a lot of money for a lot of people and still won't hurt the revenue in any way. Those gifts will be used by someone, if not the owner if they can re-gift them. Which also frees up space and stock for more items. I love when MR gives me a petty/travel/jail/felony perk but for some of these I have no use. I do however have plenty of members that would love to have them. |

You have a point there Cory, I had completely forgotten about the random 3 day gifts that are given out by MafiaReturns, I used to get them a lot but never actually needed them & may have given them to others had I the option. |
