This was a very simple and straight forward idea; Incorporating a City tab for the Chat feature that would allow users to chat with the entire city, as well as their own family.

I think Flash's mock image is ideally what we'd like to see, there isn't much more to be said for it really. Thoughts?

I thought Flash-Fire's mock up was perfect for this idea. I think it's a great way to encourage more interaction with the city, especially for those that don't ever use irc. I really can't think of any cons to this at all.

I am a fan and sold on the idea, though what remains to be seen is who has control of it like the crew one.

I believe the CL and hands have the ability to remove messages but no one else.

In a city with the godfather then it could be him and his hands, however I am not sure what you would do in a city without a godfather.

I don't know why I didn't like the sound of this originally. It seems solid to me with different tabs for #crew and #city.

Nino, I would encourage that only a Godfather and their hands can remove the messages for City. They expire after a period of time regardless anyway so having no-one to delete them when there is no Godfather shouldn't be too big an issue tbh.

As someone that very seldom uses IRC, I really like the option to chat within the game. I feel it allows the user to remain as their character instead of their IRC persona.

I would suggest that all leaders & their hands can control the city wide chat, it's not something that is damaging.

If say a godfather doesn't want them removing posts or make 4 hour sticky posts then the godfather can make that a rule.

Tbh Flash, Id say thats fair enough actually. Leave it to the users to control in themselves sounds Ok to me and allow all CLs and Hands to alter City chat.

If there are no objections, I'll start the voting for this in a few days?
