GAME CHANGE: Gun Tapering Started by: Squishy on Oct 18, '12 15:51

Until the PC can finish compromising on their solution, I have put one in place for now.

The top 10 guns in the game that are above 650 after max set to taper like this:
#01 .50 (From 650-1000) (.25 From 1000-1350) (.10 From 1350+)
#02 .55 (From 650-1000) (.30 From 1000-1350) (.15 From 1350+)
#03 .60 (From 650-1000) (.35 From 1000-1350) (.20 From 1350+)
#04 .65 (From 650-1000) (.40 From 1000-1350) (.25 From 1350+)
#05 .70 (From 650-1000) (.45 From 1000-1350) (.30 From 1350+)
#06 .75 (From 650-1000) (.50 From 1000-1350) (.35 From 1350+)
#07 .80 (From 650-1000) (.55 From 1000-1350) (.40 From 1350+)
#08 .85 (From 650-1000) (.60 From 1000-1350) (.45 From 1350+)
#09 .90 (From 650-1000) (.65 From 1000-1350) (.50 From 1350+)
#10 .95 (From 650-1000) (.70 From 1000-1350) (.55 From 1350+)
#11+ Normal

Wackback is disabled.
Bodyguards are normal.
All math above is computed after max.

Report Post Tip

Time to invest in one of those fancy Texas Instruments graphic calculators.

Report Post Tip

Just to clarify: "Wackback is disabled." means "Wackback death is disabled, and replaced with jail/gunloss"

Report Post Tip

This starts now, and does not take into account past work, everything was +1 before now.

Report Post Tip

Squishy.. it starts now.. as of 16:10... or as of 15:51....

Report Post Tip

About 2-3 minutes after the initial announcement, it went live.

Report Post Tip

Have the top guns been notified as to were they sit in order, or will it be left to the user base, who may think they are in that bracket to decide what math they will be doing?

Report Post Tip

They are not notified, but I'm fairly sure the top 10 can easily name the top 10 and have a pretty fair idea about where in the list they are.

Report Post Tip

cool, i actually like the system, i wasnt a fan of it at first, or the removal of wack back death, however i like the "what if" factor about it. I like it because someone could hazard a gues at thinking they were in the top 10 and do the math wrong, and visa versa.

Report Post Tip

650 kills or 650 wack stat total (including their bg totals)?

Report Post Tip

Just some clarification.

When you state 650-1,000.

If you're at kill 649... kill an MIA... that takes you to kill 650, right?

It's kill 651 that would then be 650.70 (or whatever rank you are).

Report Post Tip

You have to be equal or over 650 before your the shot you are about to take, to start the first taper.

So if you are at 649.50 and you shoot, you are not over 650 yet, so you get a full +1

Report Post Tip

So what happens if say, someone reached 1000 wack stat? Would the stat then be completely maxed out and unable to train anymore? Or would the tapering system continue beyond that?

Report Post Tip

Yeah ignore that. Phil has kindly pointed out to me that it has been covered. I tend to skim read at times.

Report Post Tip

Goku,

Look up at the original post and youll see we have columns for 650-1000, 1000-1350, and 1350+

Report Post Tip

O.o yeh lol excuse the slowness

Report Post Tip

All i have to say is that calculating gun score for the top guys is gonna be hell now. I hope we can impliment an effective and risk involving replacement for wack back death.

Report Post Tip

How are shots on rogue handled?

Report Post Tip

What happens if you are the #11 on the list with 750 kills because the top 10 guns are all above 751 kills. A war breaks out, numbers 1-5 die. #11 is now number 6.

Does the new #6's (former #11) kills start to add on the degrade past his already 750 kills or do his 100 kills past 650 switch to the degrade?

Also,

If numbers 10 and 11 are close and continually battling each other for the #10 spot (switching back and forth) in theary they do not know if they are receiving .95 per kill or 1.

In that reguard how is the user able to effectivly average their gun? Is the idea that they are not able to effectivly count their gun, or just to tapper off the growing of the gun?

Let me be clear that I am happy something has been put into place while the PC's come up with a solution. I am simply asking questions, I do not mean to take offense.

Report Post Tip

I think all the information is already there for you to interpret, Agamemnon.

I'm fairly sure the new #6 has his NEW kills calculated based on his current position in the list. It's the same for all guns, you get the full benefit until you're suddenly within the top ten. If you were to drop outside the top ten, your kills would count as a +1 again until you break into the tapering tier.

I presume #10 and #11 will never be told where they are in the list so they have to make an educated guess somehow. Although I'm against it, I like the idea of people not knowing exactly where their gun sits and how effective it is. It adds a little more mystery to the game, which can only be good.
