| Reward for killing an MIA | Started by: Goku on Oct 20, '12 12:35 |
|
Just a little thought I had a minute ago, nothing big. I got a message when I bought an MIA and it said an envelope containing a name, location, time, and money had been slipped under my door. And it got me to thinking, why not actually give us a small reward for each successful MIA kill? Since they are supposed to be contracts we take out for the family, in a RP sense, would we not get paid for the hit? Not talking a huge some of money, just like 20 - 40k ish?? Pros -More incentive to take MIA contracts -Incentive to purchase credits for said MIA contracts. -adds realism Cons -adds more money to the game, which everyone seems to cry about -not sure of any other ones, please add on. Let me know whatcha think |

When you buy a MIA there is already a chance of getting cash as well, I once got 300k. |

yeah I've had that happen as well, for "cleaning up the trash." But if you think anout a contract killer, or a hitman, he would be paid for doing work for his client. |

So basically what you are saying is you put in say 1.3mil for 4 contracts give or take and get about 80000 back for completing these hits? Does not sound like a bad idea to me to be honest. |

If credit prices are too high, this could be a good way to compensate people. |

That thought hadn't really occurred to me, Grin, but it is a very valid point. Since they are so high it would be nice to get something back out of them cash wise. |

If you see MIA's as contract killings, it makes sense you get at least some cash for it. |

There are random kickbacks for purchasing MIAs: the achievements, the cash for cleaning up the bums, and if you time things right, durden mapping. Seems like more than a fair give back for mia purchaces |

I'd normally agree with you Ragnarok, but then they brought up the point of the ridiculously high cost of credits... I think it'd at the very least be a viable way to counteract that until the prices drop naturally. (If it EVER happens, they've been insanely high for quite some time now) |

Also, just adding on to the suggestion, you should only be rewarded if you succeed. After the kill maybe a personal saying an envelope dropped through your mail slot containing 15-40K? |

I actually think if you are looking to add some extra money into the game to try to lower credit prices but encourage purchasing them then maybe having rank MIA's which give extra money for doing them would be better. I mean if you put in say 485k towards a credit and purchase a Don rank MIA kill and you get 100k for it then maybe people will lower the price on credits knowing 4 will give them 1 extra credit pretty much. Just a thought. |

I don't think people would willingly spend more money to kill a higher target when the outcome to their gun is the same... |

Its not spending more money, you pay the credit but it is actual contract killing so lets say you buy a credit at 480k which is the going rate. The contract that is spawned is a Don rank instead of getting like 40k for it you would get like 50-100k whatever the price is set at. Its not the cost going up to buy one it is the reward. |

A $500,000 cap has been coded on credits and as they are already at ~$490,000, there isn't really much more that can be built into the price. |

The idea was never to lower the credit price, or have any effect on the game in that way. If it were to create a lowered credit price slightly, that would be great. But I'm not sure if anything will lower it, and that is for a different discussion altogether. The thing that I want from this is a realistic looking contract kill. You are given a target, and depending on the message you get when the MIA spawns, your payout will reflect that. Such as, if the boss himself asks you to take someone out, you would get paid more than if say, "an unrecognized voice over the phone." I don't think any payout should exceed 50 K though. Even that is a bit high really...but this should encourage people to use their credits and buy more...who knows what the credit prices will do? |

If it's just for a small semblance of realism in MIA's shouldn't it be a small amount like 5-10k, an amount that will have no real impact on the game yet make it more realistic. |

I'll leave the exact amount to the PC to decide. I've suggested, ya'll do what you do best and make it worthy of being put in the game. |
