| Ryan i think the judge is a good idea but the application of it isn't as usefull as people think. Its very bg and a .410 really has no place in self defense, it would make a good gun for hiking .410 shotshell for snakes and stuff and .45 colt for two legged predators. | |

THen get a man, oooo burn now that thats out of the way. I'd recommond a 9mm or either a .45. Cost of .45 is a bit higher these days so we will focus on the 9mm. Glock 17 and 19 are very good 9mm, Springfield xd makes very nice 9mm and the springfield xd just put out a new model called xd (m) for more. It has improved grp and holds a whopping 19+1. Fits the hand very well. Id also reccomnd mounting a light on the pistol. Only load good quailty hollow points and your pistol side is good. Id would also say looking at a remington 870 12 gauge for wild animals or wild people. Rem 870 can be fitted with a vairety of stocks, lights many differnt ways to customize it to your liking. If a shotgun is a bit much you could look at several diffenrt rifles or carbines but im sure a pistol by it self would do just fine. The sprignfield xd comes in a few differnt models they have a 3 inch compact which i dont reccomnd for home defense The 4 inch service model- which is in hte picture and the 5 inch tactical i own that in 45 I think the 4 inch service model would suit you perfectly the 4 inch service model is 28 ounces when unloaded. you can get it in flat black, olive drab, bi tone, or dark earth(very nice) they run around 400-500 dollars. Come with two magzines, cleaning kit, holster and loader. |

| it's quite easy to get your concealed carry permit, you go to the court house get the fourms show proof of some type of training(Class etc etc) pay 50 dollars and you can have it in 2-4 weeks | |

...In addition to that look up the areas in which you can and cannot carry that are close to you. I know some places ban it (some parks, densely populated areas or places that don't understand the second amendment.) Also, many states have what is called a reciprocity agreement where if you have a Concealed Carry permit in one state it is valid in another. If you ever take big trips this is good to know since breaking the law is generally bad, and involves large penalties when it involves guns. I just saw this thread tonight and I am glad there is a large interest in concealed carry. Most people think only cops and criminals carry guns, which clearly isn't true. Although, arming Premeir or any shark should be illegal. |

Prem, What are your thoughts on the Five-Seven pistol? I live in Tijuana, MX (not joking) and was offered one (single action) for $500. I'd only want it for home-protection, but TJ is so bad right now I could also probably get an AR-15 if I really looked into it. |
