Okay, I dont like the idea of this at all but for the chance that this does pass in the voting phase this should only be listed on profile where the player only gets to see it. The only thing it should list is the answer stat you started out on with the most experience in. It shouldnt show progress of skills by any means in my opinion.

Example: I start a character and all my stats are about equal but one stat is higher then all the rest. This stat would be considered my starting answer set. So on my profile we will say the stat was Vision. It would say starting answers: Vision.

{Again I don't think this should have even made it into the player commission, it only received enough sponsorship because of a minority from overlapping PC members. The old sponsorship from people who are no longer on the commission should be removed and until that is done the new members should not be able to sponsor to stop this kind of thing from happening.}

Report Post Tip

{Well, it has. So why not just address it and see it fail a vote if it isn't wanted?}

Report Post Tip

I don't agree with it... The whole problem with startup answers for me is that it took out the mystery of the game, and now with being able to roll, and visually see your stats.... well yeah.

If you're too stupid not to remember what answers you used... or you were in a rush and just clicked randomly... one should just deal with it, and figure it out.

Report Post Tip

Newness doesn't equate to stupidity. I would really like to see us refrain from using negative statements to make assumptions in these types of situations. No one is going to gain any upper hand by being able to see what their answers are that they started out with. It's a helpful tool to new members when being questioned about it. It doesn't take away any more of the mystery of it by being able to refer back and see... Oh hey I answered the questions randomly and I'm not on any actual set of answers.

Report Post Tip

I think that with the fact people can see what stats they are starting with now anyway (at least with the dice rolls), it wouldn't be a bad idea to have somewhere that people can see again what they started on.

For people that picked from the roleplayed answers - would it really be a bad thing to display which answers they picked as numbers? For instance, one line under Manage-->Profile that simply says "Answers: 11111111". It doesn't give that person any more information than they could already know, and doesn't seem like it would be a bad thing.

Report Post Tip

I honestly see absolutely no need for this, if it's a first account will it really matter second go around they'll know to take note of what they start with.

Report Post Tip

Why should someone have to do it that way though Flash? Knowing what answers you used/what you rolled can be very useful information. I just don't see why making the information they already put in visible to them is anything but good, rather than saying to them "well next time take note of what you chose".

Report Post Tip

All I'm saying is I don't see a need for this to really be coded as it's hardly going to be used, it'll just be more junk data taking up server space.

Report Post Tip

It's more useful than some other things shown in our profiles, one being 'Hours played'.

Report Post Tip

Actually I've seen that flashed about on IRC many times, some people use it as a way of judging a characters performance say on Account A I got xxx amount of kills in yyy hours but on B I got xxx kills in yyy hours. And if I'm in the minority when vote is caste so be it, I'm not that bothered if it goes in but as I say I see no real need for it.

Report Post Tip

I don't particularly see a problem with this being incorporated. I would personally prefer it didn't, but it certainly seems to me there the users are interested in the idea which was why I sponsored it in the first place.

Report Post Tip

I think that allowing someone to see their answers they started on would be appropriate in my opinion.. granted it will have people pay attention more often and most likely experiment a little more with the answers, but is that a bad thing?...

I haven't normally in the past forgotten why type of answers I was on, but for someone new, they aren't aware of what the sign on questions really mean, which is why we have gone to the new dice roll, as well as other small reasons for the dice roll. This game is very confusing to learn from the get go, I feel as if anything that can help the newer players get info to the veterans to help them understand, will be for the best ultimately.

Report Post Tip

I really think this is a needed improvement... Not everyone that joins this game has played similar games. I think assuming that every person that signs up is going to remember what answers they picked at the very beginning is outrageously shortsighted. I mean, I could understand if there was a note at the top of the page 'hey, these answers determine your in game abilities - better write down what you picked!' No, it just asks you a bunch of questions and anybody who is new is just going to answer them 'how they would've done it' which is a common joke to most experienced players - but the truth if you're a newbie.

It's really sad that you guys don't want to pass something just because it will only be used by new people. By the way - when signing up it doesn't ask you to pick 32412114 it asks you a bunch of questions. So when a leader asks for your 'answer set' and you tell them 'I torched the car, stole the money from the boss etc' it's not like that will help. So even IF you remembered the silly answers - it won't do you a bit of good.

as for server space... really? it's a string of 8 numbers...

Having said that though, I don't see a need to display the stats from a dice roll... tell me but i'm wrong but it's not like those bars are 100% accurate.. and you're going to easily remember 'the wack bar was almost full' because it was a conscious decision. Also, with the bars at least you can describe your stats to a leader whereas if you use answers all they'll say is 'uhhh I don't remember' which is of no use at all..

Report Post Tip

I don't see a problem with having some sort of info aas to what answer set you chose even with the dice roll stats. Its not as if it would have to be... 95% Stealth 20% Wack 40% Info... but maybe something like you chose a dice roll with high wack boost or a wack stealth combo.... Something extremely generic yet informative.

Report Post Tip

I would hate for it to be displayed as a % that is far too much info, at most it should show what you put in. If you put in answers it should show the answers you chose and nothing more, if you used the dice roll it should show you the same visual representation that you get from the dice roll.

Report Post Tip

I didn't mean full on percents, but looking at the bars of the dice roll you can pretty well gather a percentage in your head. So I'm suggesting that the bars don't even have to be shown, just something summarizing, mostly wack with a portion of stealth or something along those lines.

Report Post Tip

well cassi now that you have put it that way, I mean a generic form of some info on your dice roll would be fine by me. 'mostly wack with some info' isn't too much info to disclose in my book. or maybe we could do something like 'Primary: Wack Secondary: Stealth Tertiary: Info' {I don't even know if tertiary is a word though so...}

Report Post Tip

I believe, referring back to the original thread, that a generic representation (one presented in an RP context) was one of the amendments made the to suggestion. This is something I fully support, particularly having come into contact with new users recently who didn't understand what their answer set was and sure enough, didn't recall their dice roll.

Again, I also believe the RP aspect as suggested would add little something extra to the game, and there is never anything wrong with that. I wouldn't be so concerned with a little extra data taking up space if it makes things more user friendly for newcomers; we're more likely to keep hold of them if they understand this part of the game in full upon starting.
