| Being a MadeMan | Started by: Navy on Oct 07, '08 21:40 |

You see the man walk up to the soap box and clear his throat as he begins to pour himself out to the crowd Being a MadeMan... right now, after a war like the one that has just happened, we the survivors look around and see many faces that we knew just disappear into the deep blue sea, I have been around these streets for about five and a half years and I don' believe I have ever survived a battle like the one we witnessed here recently. I first would like to pray for all the souls we lost during the war. Now to the matter at hand, being a MadeMan after a war like this... one can only imagine how lucky one would be to have survived this war, let alone, being a MadeMan or above. I think we had less than fifteen people survive this war that was MadeMan and above. Also, being one of these few people this would be the time for you to step up and take charge and reach out for that goal of being bold if that is what you desire in your mafia life at this moment in time. As everyone at least one time in there mafia career of course going rogue for one reason or another will cross there mind, but you have to look at the consequences as most people don't realize how much shame they can bring to there name by going rogue, by slapping there former leader in the face for gracing them with the esteemed rank of MadeMan. Lets see if I can break this down at all. 1. My bloodline has been around these shores for many generations and has seen many things but I have only seen a hand full of rogue be successful. 2. If you aren't successful you loose your character, your money you used to buy your HQ, your respect and trust also the next time you join and family and you aren't incognito, it will be harder than all hell to have that family head trust you enough to be able to promote you back to that rank without them thinking you may not do it again. Now with every bad thing that can happen in life, a good thing may come out of it as well, lets use random person as an example and how good things that came out of his/her roguing ability and were successful in taking out all the leaders and taking over these streets of ours. 1. Your bloodline will forever be known by someone that you have taken over the six cities which we call home and you did it without permission and defied everyone and you were a true rogue. 2. Your bloodline will always be known by your name that you took over with, that no matter what, will be your most popular name, the reason being is because you have a story behind that name and it will never be forgotten just as long as someone is around that shared that moment in time with you. 3. The only bad thing to roguing, whether you succeed or not... everyone falls eventually, no matter what. Therefore even if you DO succeed, it will be hard for you and your family line to gain trust back from those whom you rogued against and killed there father/mother or grandfather/grandmother ect. If they ever were to be in power again you probably would have to change your family name for awhile before you would be able to achieve the rank of MadeMan once again. Now that I have roguing out of the way lets just say you got MadeMan and didn't leave the family, you are graced by your boss and your RHM's decision to promote you... I mean, it's so honorable that anyone whom takes advantage of it really doesn't know what they have. Lets break it down, you get a 2nd felony to help you earn more money, EVERYONE will know that you have EARNED the rank, and if thy haven't the leader needs to have a serious reality check with his/her family. Also... if you are authorized to setup instead of going rogue... thats the biggest blessing of all that on MadeMan can ask for, not only is your Crew Leader willing to promote you, but also give you your own family. Then one tiny step down is a captaincy position, but anyone who stays with a family long enough to make MadeMan and there leader offers them a captaincy position... that person should be honored that they want you to work directly under them. I am sorry to ramble on like this, but I haven't been active enough on the streets as I want to be and I need to catch up a bit, so heres one of many of my thoughts coming your way, please comment on your thoughts about my opinions. You see the man slowly step off the soap box and begin to walk away into the foggy alleyway |

Sc0pe lights a cigarette. Authorization is needed. At this point might as well get someone setup. Atleast you're trying to prove yourself. Sc0pe leaves and goes back home for more rest. |

| I find it a bit comical that you come out here to speak to the masses and talk about how disrespectful roguing is. I also find it funny that the last ancestor of yours that your name ended up going rogue. | |

Just because you have done something in the past doesn't mean that you can't talk about it being wrong? yes I have gone rogue before and yes it was difficult for me to rebuild trust with some of the leaders. But honestly you can sit there and tell me you have never done anything wrong in this game that was fucked up? Because if you can then I will step down to you. |

Look, i'm not trying to jump your shit here. I'm just pointing out that I think it's funny that of all the relatives you've had come and go since Navy Sr. you would choose Navy Jr. to talk about such things. By the way, I really can't think of anything super horrendous that my relatives have done since stepping onto these shores. By all means correct me if i'm wrong here. Anyway, back to the topic at hand. It's really not the smartest thing to be preaching about when the predecessor to this name went against everything you're speaking of now. |

So, you can tell me you've never shot anyone in a messed up way during war, never said something to degrade someone, never called someone out in your own family? To me disrespecting someone in your family is a very harsh thing to do, and shouldn't be looked at like it isn't a big deal. But yes, I like I said, I have rogued. So whenever you feel like explaining to me why it is not okay to talk about something you have done in the past and say it is bad to do when it is under the same bloodline name, go ahead. Maybe next time I will write a thread about how I did too many petty's in one day, perhaps you can call me out on that one too? Great family respect here eh? :) You see the man shrug and walk away |

Zoey stepped between Navy and Tatiana. Navy, I don't think Tatiana said anything disrespectful by saying what you talked about was funny. Family support is important, but it's unrealistic to expect everyone to agree with what you say all the time. This conversation has turned into a debate. Perhaps other people will step forward and disagree with you too. Don't take it personal. Zoey smiled and stepped back away from the gathering. |

BigBoss walks up to Navy and Tatiana I am not here to judge you Navy but Tatiana does have a point. If indeed your ancestors have gone rogue in the past then it is pretty hard to trust in their kids. She did not mean disrespect. At least not from what I heard. Well you know what you were given a second chance... so instead of arguing back and forth with one of your own why not prove them wrong in a respectable manner? Support your family. Unfortunately this argument isn't helping. BigBoss hands Navy $100... here why dont you have a drink on me eh? |

You see the man begin to reply Support the family was exactly what I was doing, I was showing activity in the streets while I am under the command of Kendra. Also I am enlightening the site on roguing and what happens and the outcomes, who knows it may help a new member one day? Also, I would think that someone who has rogued in the past would have a better perspective on the subject. |

Sc0pe wakes to hear a crowd in disagreement. Why is family fighting family here? We just warred and everyone has lost their parent's, do you really think that they'd want to see their kin fighting? No, they'd want us rebuilding together, especially if family. If you don't feel like building onto each other and helping then don't tear down your family. It makes no sense. Sc0pe leaves to smoke another cigarette. OOC speaking (out of character by the way). Navy came to talk about what it means, not to be put on the guillotine. This is why are streets are so dead, because people knit pick at every little thing. Don't go complaining about the streets being dead if you all just look for a way to beat each other down. It's pointless. |

Remembers the blood.. and screaming and the loss of his past family I stood there by my family and watched them die one by one on both sides. I watched friends and people I admired my whole life as StripheCorelli get shot down in an instant. I learned from Iris and FlyingPig and they were gone..leaving only a few of us to defend the low ranked family members.. It makes you appriciate the things you got and being alive, but also realize the end is near and it sometimes time to step up. I was a member of the Java Cartel before and during this past war and was proud to attack the enemy take bullet wounds for the family... but now what do we do..? The same thing we did in the past, and what we will do in the future. We are criminals with deep family ties in a political cofee shop run world Here in the near future, we will see a bunch of young punk 10 day old Made Man and Capo's who did not take the time to actually earn their position and who will feel entitled because of their past ancestors and quick rank. It's amazing how good some criminals these days are.... 10 days and people think they earned the right to be a Made Man? Well thats another poster.. another day.. Stretches his arms behind his back and takes a drink from his glass and laughs Well when it comes to me....I believe in the princples of our world and rogue was not and is not an option. Proper work and proper respect earn a position in our world and we must teach the new mafioso this by example.. |

| dont dwell on the past and dont expect anything from it. each generation works for their rank! but what i do have to say that stuck me personally is yeah it was a shocker for myself to live as a mademan in this last war. not many of the higher ranking people lived. it was generally WG and higher were the main targets. and i was shocked and excited i lived to serve another day in my family | |

| If you can earn the trust of your leader, and earn your button. Then yes you deserve it, being made shouldn't be given for who you are or were. Earn it with each generation your family line has. Show that not only your leader can trust you but so can every other leader. | |

The main point I want to address in this speech is this: "As everyone at least one time in there mafia career of course going rogue for one reason or another will cross there mind" I can categorically state that no members of my bloodline have ever entertained the thought of going rogue. My forebears have been more than disillusioned with the regimes of UN, Librizzi, Badass, CP (OMG, I KNOW!) and more recently Java/Scum; but for none of them had the thought of acting against their leader ever even crossed their minds. Perhaps I was raised in an old school sort of fashion but it has been bred into me, as with all my forefathers, that you never act directly against the wishes of your leader, and that's perhaps why I react so angrily when I see a rogue; it's a completely foreign concept to me. That is not to say rouging is never a necessary evil, I could cite several examples from history where rouging has perhaps been warranted, but that does not mean I will ever laud the actions of a rogue. The second point I want to address is this: "Therefore even if you DO succeed, it will be hard for you and your family line to gain trust back from those whom you rogued against..." This in itself is why rouging is ineffective from a logical point of view. By your own admission, one who rogues will always be branded as deceitful and untrustworthy. You will forever have enemies, and these enemies will be the sons and daughters of prominent members of society. In short, you will be forever in a precarious position if you seize power through violence alone. By far the more sensible path is to gain power through 'legal' channels and then consolidate the power you already have. History agrees with me on this matter; Anita, Scotland, PrinceofCheese, even now Marietta. The Dons of this world, past and present, have attained their place through the consolidation of power rather than rouging, almost without exception. That fact in itself makes rouging messy and unnecessary, unless you are rouging due to an obsessive desire to end one person's life, in which case you fully deserve to become a social pariah. |

| Just to help clarify, I said sometime in your mafia bloodline, maybe it hasn't crossed your mind in the past yet, but perhaps in the future it may cross your mind, and if it doesn't then I commend you on that good sir. | |

Sc0pe chuckles to himself and takes a hit from his cigarette. You do realize and I mean actually realize Anita and Scotland weren't just Don's, they were Godfathers, they made it further than any mafioso. Not to be rude, but atleast speak more precisely on your facts. Sc0pe lights up another cigarette and heads to the local diner for a nice cup of Java. |

Using "Godfathers" as my example would've been fairly pointless, narrowing the field to precisely two people. Instead, saying "Dons" gives me a pool of, what, at east 30 people (at a very, very conservative estimate) to use as an example. And I'll thank you for having a less condescending attitude in the future, sc0pe; particularly if your only motive is to pick at minor faults in my speech. As I say, Navy, if the diaries and memoirs of my ancestors are anything to go by; then none of my bloodline have ever seriously considered the idea of going rogue. Unless something absolutely disastrous happens with our current triumvirate of leaders happens; I doubt I'll be breaking the tradition of several lifetimes. |
