Thoughts and prayers to the families of the 27 children shot dead this morning in Newtown, Connecticut.

At around 9:30 am ET this morning, two armed men walked into this school and started shooting. This school was a K-4, all these victims were very small children who haven't even had a chance to live thier lives.

One gunman dead, the other on the loose. (As of about 20 minutes ago).

Don't know what else to say.I'm lost for words. Just wanted to put it out there.

Correction, 18 children, 9 adults...and still counting.

Update, only 1 gunman, found dead in the classroom. A 24 yr old piece of shit who had also just shot his mother.

And another update. Suspects father also found dead in NJ.  (For some unknown reason I'm watching Faux News, these idiots....)

Been Following this all day. just tears me up.  

My thoughts go out tothe families of the little ones.

6 Adults dead, 20 children.  Ages 5-10.  It's shit like this in the news that makes me want to snatch my 11 year old out of school and go hide in the mountains someplace with him.  Typically there's some sort of logical flow in something like this...Not that it's something I agree with or condone but you know what I mean. "Oh I'm in a horrible divorce and I'm going to kill my kids before the crazy ex wife gets them".  Like I said I don't agree with it but there's some sort of convoluted logic.

Where the HELL is the logic, convoluted or otherwise, here?

I wish the son of a bitch had not killed himself. If there was ever a reason for a good old-fashioned draw and quarter, that one takes the cake.

And Maybe skinned and dipped in lemon juice and salt.

I was so sick after hearing this on the news I got ill and cried.  My prayers and thoughts go out to those affected.  Not only are those families damaged, but think of the other kids that witnessed it.  What kind of PTSD nightmares are those families going to deal with now?

Between this and the jackass that decided carving a pentagram in his kid's back was a good idea on 12/12/12, the world is seriousy going to hell in a handbasket.

It hits so much harder because of this since it's right before Christmas that those parents have to spend burying their children instead of enjoying the holidays. There is no logic to killing innocent children.

Very sad event, who could kill kids...I have 8 and 10 yr old nephews and no way could I ever do them harm.

As for the shooter, I would love to dump him in acid...over and over and over...Roger Rabbit style...

Amother black eye for gun owners every where in the states as well. My prayers definately go out to the families of these young children and teacher, and being close to Christmas, its going to be tough. Having someone murdered is sooo harsh to deal with as I went through the same with a double homicide in my family last January, so I hope for the best for these families and wish you all to offer them support one way or another because they definately need it.

Fox News has plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.

You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem. You can help by turning off the news."

It is such a sad turn of events I am old enough to remember dunblane in Scotland and the tragedy that happened there.

I saw an interesting statistic on gun related homicides, following the law changes I'm the uk.


This year, five people have been killed by guns in Scotland. That's in line with the rest of the UK per head of population and a death rate 50 times lower than in the United States.

You have to wonder at what point will gun control be brought into the USA.

You can introduce all the gun control you want. It doesnt stop them from being illegally brought into this country.

Definitely the US has to make a stand on these dam assault rifles,,and who owns, them or there will be more issues in the future affraid to say.. God bless all that Has been struck by this tragedy...

Instead of this turning into one more hit on "we have to control guns!" why don't we focus on the real problem that becomes glaringly obvious whenever something like this happens.  What about more focus on mental illness and the treatment of such, or lack thereof? What about the families that try to raise their kids right and end up either murdered or treated like pariah because, no matter what they did, they had a child that turned out nutty as a fruitcake? 

I have to call bs on "assault" rifles...I have a few myself and a bunch of friends as well, a gun is a gun and they are not "assault" rifles as the media refrences them. You can introduce all the "gun control" you want but there is no way they can take our fire arms nor will it be allowed. One reason America has more shootings is population/gun ownership ratio, and I believe people are just trying to create the next big thing as stated above, for the media. To keep firearms out the way of criminals is a challenge, but for normal citizens like myself it's ridiculous. AR's like the .50 Beowulf, are great for hunting hog or deer. Mental evaluations maybe for some people?

Not sure why the idiot did what he did, but it is very very sad and I have no idea why someone would do such a thing. Whether you ban guns or not theyre still going to be in our gun safes, cases, and on the streets, have fun with that. People like this idiot ruin it for the rest of us law abiding citizens. Nothing like going having a family day at the range.

Why don't you guys wake up? Those children and adults were most likely sacrifices and the whole thing set up. This is most likely just a way to say that guns are the problem when really it's just a corrupt government trying to control people. Wake up! Your government doesn't care about you, those children who lost their lives, or the adults. Wake up!

If the make it law and amend the constitution to remove what ever thing is in there then I am sure they can take your fire arms from you with ease.

With people throwing up the it isnt the gun that kills a people it is the person. Please have some thought to your statement, take away the gun from the person and it is a damn site harder to kill someone. The problem is take a person with a legally owned gun having a bad day and its easy to do what these people are doing. Remove the gun from the situation and it becomes a lot lot lot harder to charge out and commit mass murder against defenceless children!!!

Guns don't kill people, people kill people.. You ever seen a gun pull it's own trigger? Yea, me either. They tried to ban guns in a handful of states, Illinois and Washington DC most notoriously.(Bans have been overturned) Go ahead and check the crime rates during the ban, and after. Guess which is lower? DC had the highest murder rate in the country during the ban.

You cannot just 'take away the guns'. It's not that simple. Every legal gun you take off the street is replaced by 10 illegal ones. Less legal ownership = more illegal ownership. Which would you rather have? As far as your 'legal owners having a bad day'....none of these massacres happened with legal guns

Legal ownership is not the problem, the availability of black market weapons is. Something DOES need to be done, but taking guns from law abiding owners is not the answer.
