Original Suggestion Thread: Family Jobs by Phil_Steak Suggestion Sponsors: PC-Cassiopeia, PC-Lola, PC-SpikeSpiegel, PC-Warrior and PC-Whitey |

This is a large suggestion with many different layers to it so I'll try to break it down to the nuts and bolts:
This suggestion is mainly randomly automated jobs given to CL-selected people. These jobs rewards would vary by rank and title or position within the structure. These 'jobs' would be tax-free. These jobs would also be on a time-constraint. Meaning that the person has a short time limit to complete the task.
The Original Thread contains a lot of quality Ideas and Suggestions, which could all be rolled in to this suggestion. |

I think that these jobs would have to be limited in number. I do think they could encourage communication within a crew, but for years we have only had hands to work with, and some people have been assigned jobs but not within the game's coding.
We must consider that is would probably be similar to an OC or petty or felony so it would increase income somehow, and obviously some sort of timer similar to the one for ranges.
I'm open to hearing suggestions of these "jobs," but we shouldn't try to overcomplicate things. |

I think they should run on a random timer, perhaps similar to rogue |

It'd be hard if they ran on a random timer if the CL chooses who has them, say Made Man X is set to have Y job, X is only online 6 hours a day between 11am & 5pm game time, job Y keeps randomly happening out side those hours, it would become pointless. The timing would have to be more like OC's, can only be done every X hours. |

I would have to agree with Flash on this one, the timing is simply too random and not viable enough to work properly. |

I'm sorry I haven't commented further on this idea, but I do think it is a good one and I want to put a little more than just 10 minutes thought into it first. |

Flash and Sticks, I was thinking that this could run multiple times a day similar to the rogue idea in that it were random.
We could have them be randomly done whenever those particular people are online? We also need to go over whether these events would be 'raced' for or person specific |

I agree Whitey, we do need to discuss more in depth about the specifics. |

I like where this is going and I'm very glad to see it being discussed - it's a fantastic idea. |

{Cassi, brought this one to my attention. I think its a fair idea, and WAY too fresh to be in the PC yet. I'm not going to boot it out like I did that event thread. That's because I'm going to say I already have very similar plans to this for when I build the Ellis Island code. That system will basically be a chain of quests (for a lack of a better word.) that teach newbies how to play. But also I wan't to extend it to something quite like this for those who have outranked the tutorial. When I get to the point where the tutorial is done and I'm ready to build in stuff for all rank of players, I'll likely bring it back to the SF for development.} |

{okay, I just have a question I guess. There seems to be something about things not being fleshed out fully when they get to the PC. Am I mistaken in thinking that we sponsor it to say 'yeah we should do something like this' then bring it to the PC side to THEN fully figure out how we want to do it? I guess I'm just a little confused about how it's supposed to go is all. I felt like I read all the threads and I don't remember seeing anything that said we needed to have the idea fully developed and settled on before it was sponsored.. I though original sponsorship was just sortof saying 'this is a good idea, lets discuss it now.' but anyway... Thanks Enkindle - So you're saying you have a plan to add this? I'm really glad to hear that. Would you like us to continue discussion and development with this suggestion or just have us leave it up to you for whenever you're ready to roll out your big updates?} |

{The lack of communication on this has been horrible and disappointing to say the absolute least. We've been doing things the way that Whitey just questioned from the day I started on PC, which is from it's inception. Some sort of PC meeting, thread, mass mail, something would have been nice to receive to INCLUDE the PC in on a change in the way things are going to be handled. I honestly cannot describe how disappointed I am.} |

{As far as I can see Cassi, I don't think there ever was a 'change' in the way we were supposed to do things. More that what enkindle has described was how it should've always went, we just did it differently and never got corrected. Either that or all the other suggestions have been at the point they should be in the PC forum. If you think about most, if not all of the suggestions that have been sponsored, and implemented, they have been fairly simple ones that haven't required debate to the length that this one would perhaps need. This suggestion would require, in my opinion, at least a couple of weeks worth of deliberation and debate from all of us, to even get anywhere near to the point where it would be ready to go into the game. Of course, I could be completely wrong, so feel free to correct me enkindle.} |

{I'm actually talking about something else that was kind of tied in with what Whitey said here. Maybe a mail or a clarification of the rules or a thread would have been more appropriate than completely stripping a suggestion of all sponsorship without even discussing it with the PC. And if we are supposed to wait until an idea is ready for a vote before we sponsor it, what is the point of having it go to discussion in the PC forum.} |

{I don't think it has to be ready to be voted on Cassi, I think you're taking what enkindle has said too literally. As far as I understand, it should be left in the Suggestions forum until the general users can not add anything more to the idea, and it would only benefit from the select few PC members deliberating over some of the finer details etc. The other users have a lot to offer each idea, and as enkindle said, as soon as it hits the PC forum, the Suggestions forum thread kinda dies and nobody bothers with it.} |

{I'm not going to argue about this. The fact is there is/was severe lack of communication and I'm not comfortable with it.} |

{I'm not suggesting this is what you should do, as I think you are a fantastic PC member, but if you're that uncomfortable with it, nobody is forcing you to stay on the PC. I don't think it was necessarily a severe lack of communication, maybe slightly, but I don't think it's as big a deal as you're making it out to be.} |
